  1. I know about the recent change to the Inf system (Inf earned doesn't change when turn off Earn XP). What I am reporting is that the amount of XP and Inf you earn is identical when running at level 50 and level 49. I don't know if this is working as intended or not (I haven't checked this in the past) - just that's what you receive. Now it doesn't matter which mission you run - you will earn the same Inf.
  2. I found a minor problem with the Exemplar system. Here's what I did: Level 50 at +4/x8 running AE mission with max level of 53. I had one lower-level character in the group who became level 49. The level 50 was exemplared to 49, and the lower-level character was also exemplared to 49 - I think this should be 48.
  3. I just verified that if you have Earn XP set to Earn XP with XP While Exemplared set to No XP, you ARE earning XP when you're exemplared. The Inf gain is reported correctly.
  4. I did a quick test and while my farmer was level 50, exemplared down to 49, and XP while exempared turned off. The message in the chat window still said I was earning experience - I didn't check my character to see if the experience was added, just the message in the chat window - either way isn't right. I thought that your recent change equals no extra Inf, but it seems that I'm still earning XP while earning the Inf.
  5. I did a quick test with my farmer using Briggs fire farm. You get exactly the same experience and Inf in either level 50 +4/x8 or exemplared to 49 at +4/x8. Turning of "Earn XP" gets you just the Inf. Turning off earn XP while exemplared HAS NO EFFECT! You still earn experience and Inf when running as a level 49 fighting level 53s.
  6. One thing I found about changing alignments - if you change from Vigilante to Rogue, you will lose the safeguard mission. If you change from Rogue to Vigilante then you will lose the mayhem mission.
  7. So it takes twice as long to earn the same Inf - it doesn't matter if you're farming or doing normal missions. How about adding ONE Empyrean Merit for each veteran level above 100? Since I have all my incarnates, I hope I can spend these on something else....
  8. Shards seem to drop at a slower rate, and the components they make takes about half as many - that's why the conversion is less. Now if they drop the shards completely, convert each shard to two threads and each salvage the ability to "Side Grade" each one into a component made with threads without costing threads to do so. * Don't forget to change the Shard drops into a drop of two Threads....
  9. With Empyrean Merits, you should also be able to purchase a Notice of the Well (Rare - 8 Empyrean Merits) and/or a Favor of the Well (Very Rare - 30 Empyrean Merits). As a separate, but similar suggestion, the ability to convert one Empyrean Merit to 10 Incarnate Shards and/or convert two Incarnate Threads to one Incarnate Shard.
  10. Yes, I thought Fire Blast was an AoE based on the name. Ring of Fire - I was thinking Fire Cages (AoE immobilize) since Mu has Electrifying Fences (which is an AoE immobilize). Now that I understand this, I agree that Mu is better than Pyre. I would love Fire/Fire/Pyre brute if it made a better farmer. Oh well.
  11. Unless you're talking about Fire/ instead of Rad/ or Spines/ - I know that Fire Melee has fewer AoEs, that's why I didn't create one..
  12. What are you talking about? With Pyre Mastery, you get Fire Cages, Fire Blast, and Fire Ball. That's 3 AoEs instead of the 2 in Mu Mastery at the expense of losing a pet.
  13. I have a Rad/Fire/Mu Brute and a Spines/Fire/Mu Brute farmers (one on each of my two accounts). I was playing and I thought about having a Fire/Fire/Pyre brute as a farmer - and using Mids Reborn I found that the Fire/ doesn't have many PBAoE damage like Rad/ or Spines/ - which will probably be not as good a farmer. So I started thinking about changing my Rad/Fire from /Mu Mastery to /Pyre Mastery and I like the idea - I don't use Summon Stalker in Mu Mastery, so with /Pyre I get 3 attacks instead of 2. I would appreciate your suggestions on improving this build. Note - I dropped vengeance so I could take Super Speed for a travel power and slotted Prestige Power Slide with a +Stealth for doing missions when leveling. 14. Many people wonder why to do the bank missions as you level. The reason is easy: +5% health bonus to your character by finding the exploration badge in each zone. NOTE - you don't have to actually complete the bank mission to do this, but I do it while I'm there (plus you get a temporary power if you successfully complete the bank mission - the temporary powers are great while you level). What do I have to do in these bank missions? You must get the exploration badge in the mission. The easy way to find them is change the maps by installing the edited maps. They can be found here: https://forums.homecomingservers.com/topic/3523-vidiotmaps-for-issue-24-and-beyond/ . Also, having the Reveal power (below) helps in finding them (look for a green shield with a number 1 on the mission map). Why not wait until you’re level 50 and go through Ouroboros? For me, I’ve never done it through Ouroboros (and therefore I don’t know how). And with my system, it doesn’t matter how poorly you’re slotted (or even if you have no enhancements). I hate doing all those door missions to get the bank mission. If you only do the “Defeat _____ and his/her Guards” missions. If you take Super Speed as your travel power and slot it with Celerity: Stealth enhancement, you can run through the missions invisible until you find that person and then defeat everyone in that room. It's almost always the room farthest from the entrance. The radio (newspaper) isn’t giving me those Defeat missions. The easy way is to zone then return and check again. For me, I use a macro base portal (on Excelsior this one works well: /macro_image "Teleportation_LongRangeTeleport" "Teleport: Cosmic Terminal" enterbasefrompasscode COSMICTRANSPORT-6608 ). As soon as you enter the base, click on the entrance portal to return to where you left. This resets the list of missions to choose from. Also, this macro has no cool-down timer so you can use it as often as you want. I can’t find the person I’m supposed to defeat! Get the Reveal power (10,000 Inf – this is very cheap) from the P2W vendor. This will remove the black from the map so you can find the person at the end of the mission. The vendor is in Atlas Park, Mercy Island, Pocket D, and Nova Praetoria. The person I’m supposed to defeat is too tough for me. Set your notoriety Adjust Level: -1, Number of Players: 1, Solo Bosses: No, and Solo AVs: No. This can easily be done by clicking on the chat bubble next to where you type to talk then Set Notoriety then the one you want to change. If you have a mission, you can see your current settings there. The bank missions are too tough! This is a common problem - especially for "squishy" classes solo - since these missions spawn enemies that know exactly where you (the mission owner if in a group) are and will attack you even if you're invisible. I do the bank missions when I’m 3 levels higher than the level of the mission. If you have your notoriety set to level -1, then I do them when I’m 2 levels above when I received them. If you out-level the mission by more than 3 levels you won’t get any Experience or Inf. How do I do both the Hero and Villain missions? You must be level 20 to get the tip missions. You can change your alignment without tip missions. Just visit Null the Gull in Pocket D – the small bird located on top of the truck near the elevator to the villain zones. Set your alignment to Vigilante (blue side) or Rogue (red side – Rogue is preferred as you can then do the Patron Power Pool arc at level 35+) and you can move between hero and villain zones with ease with either alignment (especially if you use the base portal above). There is no level restriction for using Null the Gull and no timer on how often you can use it to change your alignment. NOTE – changing your alignment can cause you to lose a mission you haven’t performed yet. Because of this, I set my alignment and leave it alone until I’m level 50. Which zones do I use? Personally, I get these missions at the lowest level that they’re available (level 5, 10, 15, etc.). I also successfully stop the bank robbery (as a villain successfully rob the bank) also. NOTE – you can have both the safeguard (hero) and the mayhem (villain) missions at the same time if you’re a vigilante or a rogue. Your Level Bank Mission Hero Zone (Safeguard) Villain Zone (Mayhem) Safeguard* Exploration Badge Mayhem** Exploration Badge 5-10 Atlas Park Kings Row Port Oaks or Cap Au Diable (8+) Heart of the City (Hate of the City) Global Threat (Global Guardian) 10-15 Kings Row Steel Canyon or Skyway City Port Oaks (12-) or Cap Au Diable Kings Righteousness (King's Capriciousness) King Maker 15-20 Skyway City Steel Canyon Skyway City or Faultline Cap Au Diable Courage Driven (Rage Driven) Road Raged 20-25 Steel Canyon Faultline Talos Island or Independence Port Sharkhead Isle Freedom's Defender (Freedom's Crusher) Steel Worker 25-30 Independence Port Talos Island or Independence Port Sharkhead Isle or Nerva Archipelago Honorable Captain (Dishonorable Captain) Tyrannical (Revolutionary) 30-35 Talos Island Brickstown or Founders Falls Nerva Archipelago or St. Martial Talos' Might (Talos' Blight) Talon of Talos 35-40 Brickstown Brickstown or Founders Falls Nerva Archipelago or St. Martial Cornerstone (Weak Point) Brickhouse 40-45 Founders’ Falls Peregrine Island Grandville Founders' Protector (Founders' Invader) Anarchist (Libertarian) 45-50 Peregrine Island Peregrine Island Grandville Gatekeeper (Keymaster) Gate Crasher (Gate Closer) * Badge is what you have as a Hero/Vigilante (Villain/Rogue). ** Badge is what you have as a Villain/Rogue (Hero/Vigilante). NOTE - if the names are idential, I only display the one. The contact is offering me the wrong mission. Do I have to do all those door missions over again? The answer is maybe. If you are trying to get the higher-level bank mission (for example, you’re level 15 and you’re trying to get the Skyway mission and the contact is offering you the Kings Row mission) then no – all you need to do is select Leave from the contact (not erasing the door missions you’ve completed), then when you make another level (in this example: make level 16) and return to the contact. You will be offered the next mission. If you wait until you’re at the max level to receive the missions (example: level 15 to get the Kings Row mission), you will need to do the door missions in another zone or tell the contact Not Now (erasing your mission history) and redo the door missions hoping that you get offered the correct mission the next time. Remember – if you out-level the mission range (in this example you make level 16 while trying to get the Kings Row mission) the contact will never offer you the lower-level mission. You can turn off Earn XP in the options menu to prevent you from out-leveling the mission.
  15. One thing I don't see mentioned in the list of secondaries is /kin (now available on homecoming). I would think that using Fulcrum Shift would be awesome at higher levels but leveling up to 38 could be a problem. While leveling my MMs in the past (live servers), I always took the Leadership power pool for +Def, +Acc, and +Damage. Massively helpful at lower levels - especially before slotting with all those expensive IOs.
  16. Personally, I don't claim the other prestige sprint powers. I only use prestige power slide (usually with +Stealth as I go from door to door) and sprint (Endurance reducer when I have other things going on - like attacking). Since most of the work has already been done to make super speed color tint-able, I would think it would be an easy change and this is a power EVERYONE gets now (even if they don't want it). P.S. I'm not asking for additional graphics (like roller skates, skis, etc.). I just want to edit the existing colors or use Minimal FX.
  17. I know that if the ally defeats something (like a minion, Lt, or boss) - you get zero experience.
  18. I'm tired of listening to my robots as they walk around - not only are they loud, but their noise frequently masks the sound of a "glowie". I seem to recall that if you created a zero byte file, named it something specific, and put it in a specific directory that it would override the default sound for whatever (I used this on a Fire/Devices blaster - on the targeting drone - pre-ED). I would like to do this with whatever sound file is being used for the noise the robots make as they walk/run/whatever.
  19. I'm curious as to why the Spines/Fire cleared the maps faster than the Rad/Fire, and yet the Rad/Fire received more Inf per hour. After some personal testing, it seems to me that getting the Ally in the mission to help you reduces your Inf while increasing the speed in which you clear the map. Since each map will have the same number of Minions, Lieutenants, and Bosses they should generate the same Inf each time if you don't get the ally. I haven't tested Inf/Hour, just Inf/mission - so I avoid the ally to increase my Inf/Mission. Could you do some farther testing and see what your inf/hour is with and without the ally? If this makes a difference, test it with and without summoning a pet (I don't think a pet will decrease the inf/hour like the ally does - but I haven't tested this myself)
  20. This build takes you to YouTube (specifically https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oHg5SJYRHA0- I tried copying it into Mids Reborn and it doesn't recognize it. Edit: I copied the URL into a text editor and then pasted it back into a web browser and I got the build. 21. First, let's start by thanking you for bringing back CoX - it has been missed by many. Could you do power customization on Prestige Power Slide so we can change it's color and "Minimal FX" to turn it off? This wasn't a priority on the old live servers since most accounts didn't have it and never would.

    Best Brute?

I'm not sure what I'm thinking - I just don't want to lose protection against anything because I missed clicking on a power. I think Regen is one of the sets where many of the powers are click instead of toggle. I'd prefer a set where I don't have to worry about losing a power because I forgot to click it again. Ideally, I'd like to find a brute where I can go AFK next to a Pylon and not have to worry about a face-plant.

    Best Brute?

I'm trying to create a Brute that is fun to play and very survivable - both in the AE and outside. I've played a fire farming brute, and it just isn't very good outside the AE. I've tried searching the Brute and Guides forums, but I'm not very successful in finding something that interests me. I would like to be able to say "I came, I saw, I kicked its @**. From what I've found, I'm thinking a Rad/Rad brute would fit, but I'm not finding any builds for it. One thing I'd prefer is toggles in the secondary. I hate getting stunned because I forgot to click something (I'm thinking of Willpower or Invulnerability, but I'm not sure).
  24. Just because something is old, doesn't mean you have to throw it away. Nuinqua had a good idea and his build looks pretty good. I wanted to follow up since there seem to be no other builds available on this topic. /Fire brutes tend to make very good farmers. I could make a purely farming brute, but I want one that can farm or do missions. I'm not finding a build that can do both - or even two builds that I can swap between.
  25. I would also like to see suggestions for improvement for a non-farming Spines/Fire Aura build.
