  2. To be completely fair, that Tanker build was min/maxed to hell and back and it was definitely not my "first" take on it. Katana/Dark could definitely get higher DPS without possibly sacrificing *too* much survivability and gain substantial AoE Here are the "highest damaging" IO slottings overall for Kat/Dark to squeeze out its DPS - pretend that the damage IO here is Bombardment proc That right there will land you solidly in the 300-400 DPS range with fury keeping up and give you -40% res to your enemy. I recommend putting the Fury bonus in Death Shroud :), this will really help you to get more ST DPS and AoE out of your brute 🙂 This isn't meant to be me coming off as "cocky" or rude, but when I took the pool and made similar changes to my Rad/TW Tanker, I saw a surge of more than 100+ DPS even on TW, what it can do for Katana with the right slotting? Who knows =D
  3. **UPDATE** So I decided to give Rad/TW another go with some more "juicy" from the Soul Mastery pool and sacrifice a silver of the resistances for a lot more DPS... Updated build now breaks 1:53 with a DPS of 467... Four. Hundred. And. Sixty. Seven. As... Tanker... It officially competes with most Stalkers and Scrapper times while having Tanker defenses (able to tank LR) with extremely good AoE, what can I say? I'm proud of her :). --Pretend the damage IO in Dark Oblit is a Bombardment proc** Hero Plan by Mids' Reborn : Hero Designer 2.6.0.7 https://github.com/ImaginaryDevelopment/imaginary-hero-designer Click this DataLink to open the build! 4. I didn't say it was, I said that's how those types of statements are often interpreted.
  5. Again, with the "well, there could be nothing at all, be glad for what you do have." This is a forum, this is a recent change, let people have their discussions about it and don't tell them to essentially "shut up and be grateful" for what they do have. You disagree with others, which is totally understandable, but it is unreasonable to tell others to just "sit there and be happy" with changes they don't agree with when they have a platform to discuss their discontent with it. I'm not quoting you, I'm giving emphasis toward the phrases, however, this is essentially how these types of things come across online. I too am grateful that the game exists to play it in the state that it is, however, that doesn't mean that we should worship every single decision the current devs make, nor do I believe that they want us to, they want us to give our opinions on issues we do not agree with or like.
  6. Rumor has it... It works especially well on Titan Weapons users.
  7. Who's attacking my poor kitty Jimmy!?!?!?! *Types this as I have accidentally aggro'd a group of Arachnos soldiers in St. Martial*
  8. I do not have a billion straight up in influence, but I easily have tens of billions on my characters (I have several Winter-O'd and purple'd out with tons of pvp enhancements on about 20-30 characters, it adds up). I'm aware of the information, but thank you for the offer 🙂 although I'm always willing to learn new things! I'm merely stating that farming does still impact me as a player, especially me, because I have so much in terms of enhancements that inflation of this game can also negatively impact the value of my enhancements and what I can/cannot do. How have I acquired this influence? I have leveled about 60 or so level 50's and I have played out to Vet 100 4-5 of them, I've made about 50,000 or so in merits by estimation without really "trying." I have spent my merits frivolously many times before as well. Further, I had a friend who I played with heavily and he decided to quit and well, I was the one to "inherit" his wealth before his departure. I feel incredibly grateful for him and his graciousness to be given such an offer. I try to help out others as they need it.
  9. The only issue I really have with this related to level 50 and above with "incarnates" is that in the current state, Vet 99+'s really gain nothing anymore. They've legitimately outleveled every benefit to leveling and now instead of having the benefit to disable XP and gain influence, they now have nothing. Emp merits every 3 levels or so would help to at least feel like you're gaining "something."
  10. I do take issue with your post, although I have seen you in game, hi foxy! 🙂 People farming does very much so affect the game and the economy and very well does affect the majority of the player populace and their opinions are still valuable and contribute heavily to the state of the game. I don't disagree with the sentiment to let others play the game they want to play it, however, the choices on what people do as a market do very well influence what I can or cannot outfit my characters with and how much of the content on this game I love I am able to fully enjoy! Cheers and thank you for all your hardwork on the Hami Raids!!!! =D
  11. That's really not a completely fair statement. A lot of people assumed that we were going to get costume changes, Electric Affinity, and the new IO sets. Some may have heard about the Katana changes. Many heard of the Dark Melee changes and the revisions and after that they just didn't care very much for the newer changes at all because they got their hopes up for Dark Melee and never really looked back into it. Therefore, because this AE nerf wasn't stated in its original form and was only very recently in the last few sets of the changes, I am not at all calling this a "shitty move" on our parts. Lots of people had no idea about it because they had already tested EA, DM, costume, IOs, and Katana changes and didn't feel the need to keep getting on to retest. Again, placing blame on "players" who may or may not even have heard of these changes to test and calling it a "shitty move" is very one-sided from one perspective and doesn't encompass the majority or take into account why a large variety of people may have not noticed this change.
  12. "Very miniscule" overtime becomes "very large" if "very miniscule" adds up just enough. They have already nerfed AE farms before, they are now nerfing them again. I think around a third of the gain of what you used to be able to make overall is actually not an exaggeration, that is not miniscule. Perhaps this indicates other activities should be rewarding other gameplay styles better and not nerfing?
  13. No one has made it out to be a "horrifying monster of a change," they've been arguing that it wasn't necessary or that it won't lead to a positive change overall. I personally am not one way or another on this argument, I do have farmers, but I've always done the level 50 maps and I've only farmed out of absolutely necessity otherwise I enjoy content without any AFK farming. What I do think this leads to is a lack of public events, less participation SG-sponsored events, and can make life potentially harder for people in the short-term in general and overall impacts veteran players negatively because it is a nerf (you cannot do something you previous were able to).
  14. Look, I'm sorry and I'm really not trying to personally attack you but I despise this line of arguing grotesquely. "Well, if you don't like it, just go live in a different country." Playing a game and which country you live in are obviously different, but the principle that you have friends and communities made on this server and this game are still there. This line of arguing does not bring about any positive changes and it undermines others' opinions.
  15. Vet levels absolutely do something, they allow you to receive emp merit and incarnate thread bonuses.
  16. I feel as if those who are above Vet level 99 should be rewarded at this point in some capacity because now there is absolutely no gain to level any more beyond "status" and "look at me I'm vet level 5402942!" I think that there should be at least some form of reward, a continuation of the emp merits would be decidedly helpful especially given the imbalances/changes/nerfs/long-lasting bugs that have been recently associated with said degen bug making it far less effective than other options. Further, many wish they can "redo" their incarnates, helping them out with still giving them some emp merits and some conversions would leave people above vet level 99 feeling they at least have somewhat of a benefit to go beyond it.
  17. GM Miss KNOWS her stuff! 100% Agree!!! I tried Shield and also found it to "struggle" in some capacities that other tanking combinations did not have issues with. I also found Stone incredibly problematic with how "slow" and "hard to keep up with the group" it can be even with teleport. There's so many cave instances where it just does not feel like it can keep up or feel like it has a job (the group often moves too quick for you to get there in time to absorb the alpha) it's lead to me destroying my stonies! 😧
  18. Does IG taunt with Tankers? I can't seem to find a consistent answer to this. On initial observation, I would assume no, but it acts very differently than most toggle auras.
  19. I think because it is the 16th anniversary, what jumps out to me immediately is "Sweet Sixteen" and the fact that when you're in high school (around that age), there is likely homecoming. I think "Homecoming" should actually be well within the title, and the fact that Homecoming reopened City of Heroes, I believe very well does justify that. "Homecoming ----" seems like a very reasonable badge idea. What immediately comes to mind for me is "Homecoming Excelsior" or "Stayed for Homecoming" "Homecoming King/Queen." Implying you've been around for a very long time and appreciated the game as old as it is. 🙂
  20. I'm confused as to why you need a Controller specialized around the SBB, from when I've done it, with random PUGs, we've gotten all of the badges in one run without particularly trying sans the one where you kill Frank and Killer at around the same time. I'm not saying Controller would be a bad choice, but it seems like a rather odd hyper-specific pick. I don't think you need to create just one specific toon to complete it or the specialties in it, I think really any AT you want to roll in there is just fine. Is there something in this question I'm missing?
  21. I'm seeing very great potential here for this combination in that it can AE farm and do superb AoE damage in regular gameplay and could "tank" decently well when IO'd properly and exemp very well. I'm just not totally sure which particular one I should roll, the Tanker may allow me to fulfill Tanking roles on teams however I'm not sure FA is going to say, allow me to tank LR or have the consistency in damage that Brute can. Brute also may be durable enough for this not to be an issue. As I've said, I'm unsure... TW does shore up a lot of FA's shortcomings with its knockdowns and the Melee defense so the combination itself is solid but I don't know if I should really roll as Brute or Tanker in the case of a general game consensus. I'm sort of leaning more toward Tanker but I want to see some opinions on this.
  22. Or... better yet, my suggestion is to plan on dying. Take RotP + that random self rez, it's what my blasters do and everyone makes fun of me but I have a strategy planned solely around "suicide bombing"... Well there goes any chance of someone from this forum inviting me to their Mo* tf runs.
  23. For normal secondaries, I agree, but for Kin, because of Fulcrum Shift and their proc ability, they really don't need it at that point anymore, and it actually is very nice for the pets to be able to be shifted between doing criticals for extra damage with fulcrum shift to clear trash at an astronomically fast rate versus playing against harder content and being able to still play much harder content with still very good and speedy damage. You can legitimately pick how fast you want to play and it doesn't make too much of a drawback given a ton of the damage is in the T1 pet's absurd proc ability + fulcrum.
  24. I would tell you to go with Ice Melee, Psi Melee is a mix of Smashing, Lethal and Psionic damages, those are some of the most resisted damage types across the board. Ice melee is much more forgiving and has the CC you mentioned, it genuinely feels a lot more survivable and honestly with procs Ice Melee becomes pretty in line with Psi Melee.
