I usually don't add more than 3 slots to any of the Leadership Powers, and usually just use the Workbench IOs, a Reduce Endurance and whatever is appropriate for the Power as I've found them to be endurance hogs. I suppose you could use them as a Mule for a set if you wanted, The more set bonuses the merrier. Luck of the Gambler comes to mind for the Team Defense power, at 3 the bonuses would be Regen +10%, Health +1.13%, if you went 4 you'd get Accuracy +9%. Not bad.

I often 3-slot Luck of the Gambler into Maneuvers at a minimum, or 6-slot it with LotG or Reactive Defenses.

Lately, I've taken to 3 or 6-slotting Tactics with a full set of Gaussian's, based on recent research regarding PPM and the Chance for Build-Up, especially in teams where other players have done the same (multiple procs of BU are possible that way).

I usually 1 or 2 slot Assault with boosted common End reduction IOs, because it won't take any sets.

My default slotting for Leadership is the following:

  • Maneuvers: Luck of the Gambler (Def/End, Def, +7.5% Rech)
  • Assault: 1x EndRed
  • Tactics: Adjusted Targeting ToHit/End (+5)
  • Vengeance: LotG +7.5% Rech
  • Victory Rush: garbage, I never pick it

Sometimes I might slot a full set of Red Fortune in Maneuvers for the +Ranged Def, Tactics might get 5/6 Adjusted Targeting or 6/6 Gaussian's but it depends on the build.

Torchbearer:

Sunsinger - Fire/Time Corruptor

Cursebreaker - TW/Elec Brute

Coldheart - Ill/Cold Controller

Mythoclast - Rad/SD Scrapper

Give a man a build export and you feed him for a day, teach him to build and he's fed for a lifetime.

The chance for build up only effects you right?

Nope: it affects everyone on the team -- everyone gets the chance for BU.

I don't believe thats's true.  Please provide the thread showing this.

Are you confusing it with these threads?

Bopper et al. showed that the proc rate FOR YOU increases per person in the aura.  There doesn't appear to be anything in there suggesting that other people are getting the boost and I've never witnessed any such thing.  In fact, Unknown Magi specifically noted that it wasn't granting the proc to his MM pets, so I don't think it works that way.

Is it worth slotting sets into these powers?

Yes ... but only in Maneuvers and Tactics.  Assault and Vengeance are best kept as One Slot Wonder powers that need no additional slots.

Preferences:

Maneuvers = full 6 slots of Reactive Defenses

Assault = 1 Common Endurance Reduction IO

Tactics = full 6 slots of Gaussian's Synchronized Fire Control

Vengeance = 1 Luck of the Gambler global recharge

Victory Rush = 1 Common Endurance Modification IO

If I've got a build that is crunched for slots, I'll 1 slot Maneuvers, Tactics and Vengeance ... with the Luck of the Gambler global recharge in Maneuvers and Vengeance (using them as enhancement mules) and the Gaussian's Synchronized Fire Control Build Up proc by itself in Tactics.  That way, no additional slots need be expended on any of the Leadership pool powers if you haven't got "room" for that kind of investment in your build.  This means that Victory Rush is the most "expendable" power from the pool, with Assault being next on the pecking order, followed by Vengeance.  If you're going to be taking Maneuvers, you really ought to also be taking Tactics, even if you can only run 1 of the two toggles at a time due to endurance budget concerns, and just run Tactics in teams for the Build Up proc buff.

I concede defeat: I must've remembered incorrectly.  I humbly stand corrected.

There are so many good defense sets, I usually put 3-4 pieces in Maneuvers (usually 3 pieces from one set or two pieces each from two sets).

In Tactics I'll usually put 1 or 2 plain acc buff, plus an end reduction.
