I don't think a Dev Choice is supposed to be 45 episodes/missions long. Oh well.

 After the fall of Section-41,* Manticore calls in his markers, putting you on the case involving "Omnibus," an organization that seems to have hacked everyone’s security systems.

Alignment: Heroic

Lvl: 25-30

Custom enemies.

 

AUTHOR'S NOTE: This arc ultimately reveals the reason for the missing 7-year "gap" between the live shutdown and the restoration on Homecoming.

That was a fine arc. You've headed off in a tangent that I have pondered and come up with an interesting solution. My own take is that there isn't any missing years! Sometimes you get lucky and the planet has some relative peace for a while. Now that would not have happened if the game had not been shut down but we are where we are. We still do all the missions that are "in the past' right up to the Magesterium iTrial, and Cole has been sitting in a supers prison for 7 years now 🙂 And lives move on, dulling our reactions so when the next big bad hits no one is ready. 😄

This arc is a riff off an offline discussion with an in-game friend on this topic. The verbiage concerning the Mobius Strip and the Autumn Wards is my own creation. The character of The Archaeologist is his idea, but the details, including the name, Richard Cory, are mine. I'd like to create some mishes that come after this, where the character is basically a member of the Wards, or at least helps them.

Adding my latest arc that involves Praetoria for your consideration: "Policemen vs. Aliens" - ID 31353

 

I came up with a creative way to tell the story over a timeline without time travel so you can see Praetoria before the Hamidon wasteland it has become. The arc has you exploring memories you are remembering that span from the discovery of Praetoria to the final mission that happens after the Number 6 storyline which kind of puts the capstone on Praetoria. To pull that off in arc, each mission progresses in levels and time, as does your main contact - ending with a 50-54 mission. Read more here if interested.

 

Because it also goes a bit beyond the Number Six storyline - it advances the Praetoria story just a hair. Plus it does all this with a Kheldian thread and an attempt to give the player choices in arc.

An alternate take on the blueside cape-earning mission, taking the same starting scenario but with a different enemy group and a different evil plan! A fairly short and sweet arc at 3 missions long with no huge maps.

A series of strange disapperances from the Zig leads to the discovery of a deadly conspiracy, and the resurgence of an old foe in Paragon City.

A mission arc intended for Technology origin heroes, set after the events of the Dark Astoria arc. This one's more of a proper Task Force, with a full 5 missions, larger maps, and much tougher enemies - missions 3 and 4 had several almost-wipes on a team of Incarnates, so count yourself warned! It is assumed storywise that your character is capable with technology, but it's also plausible for them to be outsourcing that to contacts. Full of clues and NPC dialogue, so keep an eye out!

Now, I may have, as we say in my country, lost the run of myself, but I've decided to submit all of the Dark Deeds in Galaxy City/Darker Deeds/Darkest Before Dawn story for Dev Choice. Why not? 

 

Taking a sort of Supers procedural TV show as inspiration I ended up with three "seasons" comprising 15 episodes each. The story starts with Madame Maven, leader of The Meteors super group (Bullet Streak, Halox Von Horn, Super Charger and The Invincible Axios) calling in the player(s) for some help when Arachnos troops are seen on some covert mission in the ruins of Galaxy City.

 

It starts with Dark Deeds in Galaxy City, Parts One to Three (Arc IDs 26756, 26952 and 27233).

 

Continues with Darker Deeds, Parts One to Three (Arc IDs 28374, 28526 and 29252).

 

And concludes with Darkest Before Dawn, Parts One to Three (Arc IDs 29891, 30210 and 30560).

 

(And for those who prefer not to squint at text I've resized anything that could be resized from 1.0 to 1.2, it'll just involve a little more scrolling.)

So while I was mad enough to nominate all the Dark to Darkest story line for Dev Choice (and I'm not rescinding that!) I suppose I should put current primacy towards Dark Deeds in Galaxy City: Part Two, Arc ID 26952.

 

Following the events of Dark Deeds in Galaxy City: Part One, Ghost Widow wishes to "avail of your services" as she seeks to recover items rather personal to her.

 

(And that leads directly into Dark Deeds in Galaxy City: Part Three, Arc ID 27233, where after various shenanigans in the service of Ghost Widow across the Rogue Isles you return to Paragon in an attempt to end the threat of a faction of Arachnos armed with time travel capability.)
