Looking to start a shield/ tanker, but not sure what I should pair it with. What have you found to work particularly well? Willing to share your favorite builds?

Shield/Fire the ultimate in flash/bang! Not sure I have the build, I'll have to look around.

Nothing warms your opponent like Fiery Melee.

I have a Shield/ Street Justice tanker. I like him, aside from the fact that even with one End Red (sometimes 2)  in every attack I still blow through endurance quickly. I keep a full tray of blue insp so that I don't have to stop and rest after every fight.

Shield/dark is something of a classic combination that works every bit as well on tanks as it does on scrappers. The improved shadow maul is absolutely massive on tanks and you get the key combination of soul drain and shield charge together earlier. I prefer the epic options tanks get too, mine has an aoe attack chain using SM and mu mastery. The self heal in the attack chain is very useful for shield and if you put a theft of essense proc in it you will have very few end worries. On top of all that the stacking damage buffs from against all odds and soul drain work very nicely indeed with tanks new modifiers. I love my shield/dark and highly recommend it.

Sure. It could probably be optimised further but this is it as it stands. Built for damage rather than out and out toughness.

Shield/Savage Melee has been super fun.  Tanky, good damage, two jump into melee/aoe damage powers with shield charge and savage leap.  Almost to 50 so still messing with builds.

My Shield/Savage is by far the most fun, and most played, of any tank I have ever played including back in the OG days (before shield was even a thing). I absolutely freakin' love her! Good sprinkle of proc damage but HUGE radius on her attacks and she is nearly unstoppable!

Shield/Martial Arts. Looks stylin', decent (if not great) AoE, solid ST, and the bets thing about Tanker MA is the Storm Kick +Defense, which makes iCapping Defense super easy. Plus add in +damage, resists, and +ally Defense aura from Shield. Only thing I wish was different is the clicky mezz protection. Got enough regen to not worry about needing Aid Self, either. Even on farm maps. Solid all-rounder.
