All Defender/Corrupter ITF - Major Meltage!

I did an all troller ITF yesterday, so thought it would be interesting to do a defender/corrupter one.    Incredible how quickly things melt with this kind of team.

We ended up with the following:

Nature Affinity/Ice - Defender (me)

Sonic/Time - Corrupter

Rad/Thermal - Corrupter

Rad/Rad - Defender

Fire/Thermal - Corrupter

Cold/Beam - Defender

Water/Dark - Corrupter

Fire/Kin - Corrupter

More corrupters than 'fenders, but I'm not complaining - a 42 minute kill most is nothing to sneeze at.  Great job team!

Did a Kahn TF on my Kin/Sonic Defender. There was a Rad/Sonic and Dark/Sonic Defender too... I sent a tell to a Stalker on the team, asking him how much damage he was able to do. I think he mentioned a 4.4k crit... all I know is my T1 blast, Shriek, was doing around 500-600 damage. It was nuts.

I just did another one this morning, at lev 50+4,   all Defenders across the board this time.

Not the fastest in the world, about 45 mins, but probably the smoothest.  We didn't have a single death and 45 mins isnt bad for a kill most.

Group composition:

Nature/Ice  (My Character)

Kin/Archery

Cold/Ice

Elect/Elect

Cold/Fire

Pain/Sonic

Kin/Dark

Emp/Dual Pistol

Great fun!  Thanks to everyone who joined!

A few screen shots, including a group shot at the end:

Did another one this evening.   Thanks everyone for joining!

Group composition was:

Nature/Ice ( Me )  - I really need to make another defender just to have some variety.  Any suggestions?   Note: I like a lot of eye candy :)

Dark/Dark  x 2

Pain/Dual Pistols

Cold/Beam Rifle

Rad/Sonic

Emp/Sonic

Emp/Energy

Pretty good variety of powers.   I think we had one death - due to some group splittage at one point.  Other than that, it went very smooth.

We had some difficulty with Rom running around at the end, but for the most part was able to smack him down pretty fast.   First time I've ever

run into the scenario where he died, but didn't resurrect - we ended up having to kill the final Nictus.  Took about 54 minutes, not the fastest I've

ever done, but not bad.   I think a super fast kill most usually runs around 30 minutes.

Everlasting Defenders host all defender content on the Everlasting server at 3PM EST. Join the global channel "Buffed Up" or get in touch with @psylenz through global friends. Next week we are tackling two WST hopefully in less than 2 hours - Market Crash and Moonfire. See you in the City.

Ran another this evening, had quite a bit of fun,  though it was a bit more difficult than the prior runs.   Too many people running off to do their own thing,  I guess they must play a scrapper as their main. 😉     Tried to warn them to stick together at the beginning, but, oh well.    It took about 1 hr and a minute this time, mostly due to chasing Rom all over the map on the final mission - our holds and knock downs seemed to be mostly ineffectual.   I have to say, I visited a number of spots on the map I never knew existed.  :)    Thanks to everyone who joined!

Group Composition:

Nature/Ice ( Me )

FF/Beam Rifle

Emp/Energy

Dark/Dark

Emp/Elect

Nature/Sonic

Time/Psych Blast

Trick Arrow/Archery

....Quite an array of powersets.

People don't seem to understand that you need to use immobilizes on AVs. AVs are immune to knockdown and holds when the purple triangles are up, but only have boss-level immobilize protection. TA has an immobilize, as does dark blast and psi blast.

Not sure about it with the new proc rules, but my Emp/Sonic went with Electric Mastery in part to get an immobilize after similarly chasing Rommy all over on all defender run.  I mention the proc because at least on Live it also did solid damage with several procs in it.  Electric Mastery also has a shield covering energy damage as well as S/L and a single target hold.

Rommy Running roughly halves your applied dps.*  If it's an issue, kill the nictus first, or both separate and kill the nictus first. Then you only have to chase him down for the last kill.  I don't think any other AV runs nearly as much as Rommy, this is purely opinion, but !@#$ he knows how to run.

You can also have 2-4 people with Envenomed Daggers.  Stacked they help much more than most realize.  One is meh, depends on the build and your raw dps, but teamed with a few stacked is very nice.

*as measured while soloing him +4x8 with my builds.  other builds and teams will vary.

Hello again meltage members, I am looking for tactical advice for an all-defender Ms Liberty Task force. I haven't done one of these since Live. I remember the successful runs I did featured a tank with full taunt and taunt aura pulling Lord recluse up a pole whereupon LR would fall back to the ground because the top of the pole was occupied by said tank. Also, the tank had a dedicated healer on the tank or else as palpatine once said "and now young skywalker, you will die" Which defender on an 8 defender team would do the pole dance and do incarnate abilities make this method a moot point?

Almost any AT can "Tower-Tank".

Depending on your team composition and builds, you vary tactics and/or which tower is best to take down first.

  • LR is 75% defense soft-cap while buffed, as opposed to 45% (standard) or 59% (incarnate).  Bring maneuvers, bubbles,  purple candy, etc.  As I recall that's the yellow tower, but you'd need to look it up.
  • The red tower is damage, and is a fairly ridiculous damage buff.  Buffed he can dish out 4500+damage, and do so in short order.   If he double-hits you it's really gonna hurt, and triple-hit will probably kill even the most heavily armored and buffed squishy.  Triple-hits /do/ happen, but rarely.
  • Last but significant is his -End attack.  That's the one that gives many otherwise durable builds serious trouble.  *end crash* *splat*

Kiski (Time/*/Scorpion w Rune/Hybrid/Rune) tanks him face to face solo and is successful 2/3 or more of the time.  She prefers the red tower come down first as her SLE defense runs 100+, SLE Resists are capped (at 75%, which means she has ~5k effective hp).  She also really prefers to have some +Recovery or +End buffs.  ... of course the obvious answer here is to 'Tower-Tank' him.

@krj12- What server was this on? I would not only love to get in on this, I would love to run all TFs like this.

Sincerely-

Hoping on Everlasting...

If no one else told you yet, join the Repeat Offenders global channel.  We're on Everlasting and we do stuff like this all the time.  Look for Retro RO teams, join the appropriate SGs and follow the build specs, or just play with us for the normal insanity.  We did some all poison teaming a couple of weeks ago and it was nuts.
