need some help with a bots/rad MM

Lots of posts on MM here. Mine will be taking a couple of attacks, but using most of my time to direct the bots. Having a good set of macros and binds for your pets seems very important so far.

Rad concentrates on debuffing the enemy. So getting RI/LR/EF on a group and keeping those going while your bots kill them is best. That means end reduction for those powers, and some slotting for the ones that can take it to further reduce enemy to hit and resistance.

Slot your pets for damage first then defense, would be my approach. I would also take the leadership power pool assault/tactics and so on are all great buffs for your bots. Don't know whether the new power in the set works on minions, but vengence does not.

My priority will be: Keep all the bots alive and buffed (bot buffs are hard to do and fiddly)>keep the rad toggles up on the enemy>personal attacks on the enemy

Movement and position is incredibly important too; using the GOTO command on your bots well seems key to playing this archetype.

Good luck and happy botting.

Try this updated planner. When you have this make sure you remove all other planner otherwise every time you try to open a build the older planner will be accessed and will cause the build to give errors.

You're a life-saver.  I've been spending days trying to get pines or Mids to work for my MM.

This thread is almost 2 years old. I doubt they are still looking for help to be honest.

Must I say it with NO subtlety whatsoever? Okay...

I am in a similar quandry as the original poster and would like help with this please.

Thus far what I'm going for is this, BIG THANKS to the people who gave me the following advice in /help;

  • 1 Overwhelming Force (Summer BlockBuster) Damage + KD + KB -> KD in Battle Drones.
  • 4 regular procs and 2 ATO procs in Protector Bot for auras.
  • 1 KB -> KD in Assault Bot.  I'm considering putting 5 from a purple set in here (Soulbound Allegiance) ... $inf is not a consideration ... should I get the Build Up proc?

I'm thinking of 6-slotting Rad Infection because I use it all the time, and it looks like it can be utterly devastating for all kinds of enemies. The guide I already have just 2 slots it with procs - which I think might be a bit of a waste?

I'm a bit all over the place with everything else. I'm tempted to go heavily into the Flight pool for the team fly in the Page 2 patch, but I went with speed in my current build and regret it - it's nice to have AM ready more often, tho.

If you take the time to scroll through the archtype forums theres usually a build with something close to what your looking for. I messed about with one earlier its been respecced 3-4 times since and i'm not the only one that posted bots/rad build it took me about 50 seconds to find 2 other posts with builds in. Mines somewhere on here when i was messing about with the fly pool for soloing gm's (probably won't open with the new mids but you can see how they got slotted) :

@Herotu - Hello! Hopefully I can offer some more input!

1. Yes, absolutely put KB -> KD procs in your battle drones and assault bot. The reason being, most of your damage will come from your Assault Bots fire patches, and you don't want things getting knocked out of it!

2. I usually slot 2 "auras" in each of the pets - t1, t2, t3. So they effectively share the load, because bots has no "mule" power. Why spread it out? Because of #3 -

3. Definitely put Build up into either Battle drones or your Big boi! Putting it in your drones will mean more effective "uptime", but putting it in your Assault bot can boost its (and yours) main damage - the fire patches. Both are good, I tend to lean toward Assault Bot, mine always seems to get plenty of uptime on it.

4. Not to be overlooked but you can put explosive strike Lethal procs into your robots to! It does matter!

5. Oh yes, group fly is very, very, nice on Robots. Because they stay ranged! So if your enemy has no ranged powers to speak of, and no -fly abilities, they are more or less completely boned. On one map I can go completely AFK and farm with my robot/ea MM, just with group fly on and my +Absorb on autocast. And this is on max difficulty. I imagine it will be quite similar with a radiation MM!

6. As far as slotting 2 damage procs being a waste, well that really depends on your current totals, as well as what other options there are? But in my book, when in doubt, more chances for +damage is never a bad thing.

7. Don't forget for "outside the box" ways to boost pets further! -res procs, interface incarnate, alpha incarnate, I mean, I keep finding people who never knew you can use inspirations on pets. You just drag and drop it onto their hitbox. Purples, Greens, Reds, Yellows.. So long as your pet isn't "mid action" in an attack, it can and will "use" it and get full benefit!

I have never played /rad MMs, but I have several Robot MMs! So I hope this helps!

With regards number 7, don't forget team insps. Those affect all your minions in range. I pretty much only unlock team insps to drop on my MMs.

@Herotu It's a games forum, there is no room for subtlety here! 😉 With regards slotting your protector bots, consider (at 50 at least) maybe a hami acc/dam with the soulbound allegiance damage only IO. If you +5 that you are looking at around 33% acc and 95% damage from just 2 slots, leaving you 4 slots for procs. The other 2, if you want to use them (I tend to skip the one with aoe def/taunt res) can be spread over drones amd assualt bot. You definitely want the overwhelming force in drones as well.

And there's nothing to stop you taking hasten from the speed pool and hover/group fly whenthe next issue goes live. GF actually works quite well, although beware there are some pathing issues with it I find, you may need to turn it off periodically to let them follow you if they get themselves stuck.

I wouldn't bother with the procs in rad infection, toggle powers like that have a low chance of the procs triggering and they typically trigger once every 10 seconds. I did 6 slot mine, but went for -def and -tohit as well as as much end red as I could get, as it is an end hog if you are using it a lot. But I'd advise copying your character to test and getting the procs from the freebies menu and trying them out yourself, you may find you get more value out of them than I did.

I was just messing around in Mids with a Bots/Rad design I might make when the game is updated.  It's a work in progress and it might change as I play it, but it looks good to me on paper.  The concept is to be in Group Fly with the Bots most of the time and to be an AV/GM killer.

I'd consider dropping the slot with the freebird +stealth and just slot a celerity +stealth in one of the sprint powers. I'm sure you could find a better use for the slot somewhere else, like an unbreakable guard +7.5% health, an end red or another Lysosome in rad infection, or a miracle +recovery as just a few ideas. It would mean you don't need to turn GF off during escort missions as well, if you are planning on running with it full time.
