Take One
There is a rare mob in the game, the hydra tentacles, that show up in maybe two missions that I know of. They would look much cooler in the final mission of the DFB trial as a replacement for the tiny hydra muckmen which swarm around the heads. They would need to be reduced in level/power but it would be worth it. Please, please add tentacles to the trial! 5 Check out my stories in the Mission Architect. golstat2003
I find the tentacles extremely ugly and disturbing actually. So one vote from me against. 😞

Razor Cure
Oh yes please. Those hydra heads are ugly. Not just because they are monsters, but cause teh mesh and textures are utter shite. Swap em for tentacles (maybe 6?) with less health than the heads and bam! Could then make a badge for killing all tentacles at once etc.

The little muck-men that swarm around them, those are the things that should be replaced with much more thematic tentacles. Thanks to the water they would look like they actually belong, unlike the mission where they originally show up, where they just... crawl about on a regular floor, not attached to anything. CrudeVileTerror
More tentacles is good tentacles, I always say! Granted, I'm generally talking about, uh, "friendly" tentacles when I say it, but I'm not against tentacles in this scenario as described either. The only concern I have it that the muckies can run around. Tentacles tend to be stationary in this game.

That's the funny thing about these tentacles: they can move around, which looks silly when they move on a normal floor, but should look perfect in the sewer water. Aberrant
Another interesting place those tentacles show up is in Faultline. In the waterlogged basin you can find bubbling spots that will ambush you with hydra tentacles if you aggro them. Check out the Unofficial Homecoming Wiki! Contributions welcome! krj12
Not a bad idea considering the xp was nerfed in the trial, some AV level tentacles would be good to recover that xp. Though I'd rather have them "in addition" to the muck men, vs replacing them.

Replacing the minions with AV level tentacles is probably not what's being suggested here. I suspect that the proposed change is simply to replace the muck man models with tentacle models but otherwise have no change in the behavior or power level of the creatures in the final brawl of the trial. They'd be like soft appendages of the tougher AVs at the center, flailing about in an effort to distract players from the task of killing the big heads. There is already a DE tentacle mob, not AVs but minions and perhaps lieutenants too. They are a little higher level, I think, maybe 15-20, so they would have to be brought down a bit to work for the trial. But other than that they would be perfect. 1 Check out my stories in the Mission Architect. Just search for "@Take One" or "SFMA".
