theta31 Posted May 29, 2019 Posted May 29, 2019 So, when I get blinded by a Night Widow, it lasts for at least 2-3 minutes (I need to time it). The only solution (other than yellows) when I'm soloing is run away, wait it out, and go back to be blinded for another 2-3 minutes... rinse and repeat... It's terribly annoying. Devs, I don't recall this particular issue in the earlier version of the game... What happened, can you fix it, and what do I do in the meantime other than skip Arachnos missions? I'm useless to teams and have caused wipes by stumbling into (pulling) other mobs I can't see. Help!
PseudoCool Posted May 29, 2019 Posted May 29, 2019 not a Dev, but I can possibly try to help with some tips (other than yellows).. what's your build and level?
Trickshooter Posted May 29, 2019 Posted May 29, 2019 AFAIK it hasn't changed from the old game. Night Widows' Smoke Grenade (and Tarantula Mistress' Mental Scramble) has always been annoying because of it's -Perception. I can't check in-game myself right now (God, I miss City of Data), but I believe it only lasts about a minute, though that can seem like forever. Unless you have access to specific powers that grant +Perception, all you can really do it wait it out or pop a yellow inspiration. Adeon Hawkwood Posted May 29, 2019 Posted May 29, 2019 There are powers that buff perception and/or resist perception debuffs. The general purpose one is of course Tactics from the Leadership pool. Some sets also have them, notably if you're a melee character then you can get Focused Accuracy or Targeting Drone from your Epic Pool (my tanker back on live had focused accuracy just to give me a way of handling blinds and to hit debuffs). If you've got a supergroup base you can get a one hour long Increased Perception buff at the empowerment station pretty cheaply. The downside is it's an auto-power not a toggle. https://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Increase_Perception_(Empowerment) There is an IR Goggles temporary power that boosts perception as a toggle but unfortunately it's only obtainable as a random drop from the raid mission in safeguards so you can't easily get it. 1 Defender Smash!
theta31 Posted May 29, 2019 Author Posted May 29, 2019 not a Dev, but I can possibly try to help with some tips (other than yellows).. what's your build and level? I'm a 37 Spine/Regen Scrapper. Same one I took to 50 years ago, but it was never this bad.
Erydanus Posted May 29, 2019 Posted May 29, 2019 It was this bad. Trust me, it was this bad. Do you not remember doing the Faulline storylines and being smoke bombed over and over? It was bad. Fortunately I was playing with a lot of defenders and with stacked tactics it didn't work that well on us. But we were very aware of the risk of having invisible enemies. See me on Excelsior as Eridanus - Whisperkill - Kid Physics - Ranger Wilde - The Hometown Scrapper - Firewatch - and more!

Devs, I don't recall this particular issue in the earlier version of the game... I remember it. It was always like this. I never really felt it was a big deal because I'm a HUGE fan of the Leadership pool. Many of my characters have Assault and Tactics. My main (a scrapper) has both of those PLUS Focused Accuracy from Body Mastery. Aside from that, carry some yellow inspirations. These enemies aren't really that common. Also, try to take them out first - just like Sappers when fighting Malta and Communications Officers when fighting Rikti. Originally on Infinity. I have Ironblade on every shard. - My only AE arc: The Origin of Mark IV (ID 48002) Link to the story of Toggle Man, since I keep having to track down my original post.
