  1. I'm hoping someone with some "technical expertise" sees it here and goes and checks it out in the Mids forum then, cause its a ghost town over there...
  2. Let me start by saying this has already been posted in the Mids Reborn sub group, but nobody has answered since it was posted last Wednesday. So I'm posting here for greater exposure and hopefully an answer. Started getting the pictured error when trying to load mids. Have uninstalled, reinstalled, restarted, the usual suspects, still getting this error loading the program. I even tried the "Repair Installation" option on the installer... Same error. This has been going on since last Monday.
  3. Same exact thing here... I even tried the "Repair Installation" option on the installer... Same error. And it just started this morning. Edit to say, I haven't used it since Monday morning, so it's been a couple of days...
  4. Massive advertising campaign to bring in thousands of new players leading to more servers and eventually removing the faux caps on auction house salvage items. Get rid of anything at the P2W vendor that can be earned in game. A return of Veteran rewards. Content that makes playing Villain and Praetoria good options. Remove side switching... you aren't meant to have every single badge on a single character. More ATs, more powersets, more costume pieces. Alphabetize costume pieces! Make the character selection screen sortable!!!!
  5. I recently hit 50 and have started the Incarnate stuff. But I realized, I want to make sure I'm well built before continuing on. I'd love for our resident build gurus to take a look at this and let me know what you think. I'm currently 50+1 and have a tier 2 Alpha slotted (it's in the build). This build is exactly what I have on right now, not my plans for the future... So, what would you change, and where do I go from here? Thanks in advance! 6. Hey devs! Is this a forum limitation, or can we get this upped at all? This was a fairly short guide as good guides go... We need more space!
  7. Thanks, that explains it. I haven't done any Praetorian stuff yet.
  8. Who is the bad guy at the top of this web page facing off against Statesman? Why is it NOT Lord Recluse?
  9. I like having a weakness, though admittedly, the concept is more DC than Marvel (kryptonite being the biggest example), and in fact, I thought it was a concept that needed proliferation in CoX... Think of it, at character creation, you pick a damage type that you have a weakness too... You pick a scale to which you are vulnerable (1-100%), and based on your choice, your regular powers get buffed by a certain amount. So if you take 100% vulnerability to smashing damage, you get a pretty uber character, but you die... a lot. If you pick 5 % vulnerability to Toxic, you get a tiny bump in overall power. All that said, I agree, the Quantums show up at weird times... Like, how did they know I was coming? Maybe the frequency increases as you move through an arc as the group comes to expect your presence? That, I would understand. Or just make Quantum damage a regular damage type if my idea above were to be implemented...
  10. I would love to be able to sort my characters on the selection screen. By name, AT, level, hero/villain/Praetorian, time logged out, etc... Yes, this is all info available just by looking, but with so many alts already (and up to 1000 possible), it would be nice to have them in some sort of order...
  11. /bind f12 "say $level $archetype lft blue" This makes it so much easier to spam your looking for group requests! :D :P
  12. I get scrapper lock all the time... So I proudly show off my latest debt badge...
  13. So I downloaded the test server patch, then got on a regular server and played a bit before logging off. Now I am in Tequila and I'm getting: Manifest download error for http://patch.savecoh.com/manifest.xml The remote name could not be resolved: 'patch.savecoh.com' What do I do now?
  14. If you look at Paragon Wiki, Martial Arts is not included as a Brute power set. Last substantial edits were in 2012.
  15. I'm a 37 Spine/Regen Scrapper. Same one I took to 50 years ago, but it was never this bad.
  16. So, when I get blinded by a Night Widow, it lasts for at least 2-3 minutes (I need to time it). The only solution (other than yellows) when I'm soloing is run away, wait it out, and go back to be blinded for another 2-3 minutes... rinse and repeat... It's terribly annoying. Devs, I don't recall this particular issue in the earlier version of the game... What happened, can you fix it, and what do I do in the meantime other than skip Arachnos missions? I'm useless to teams and have caused wipes by stumbling into (pulling) other mobs I can't see. Help!
  17. I encourage you to try a Spines/Regen. It is my favorite scrapper, and pre-I25, it was as close as you could come to a Sentinel with 2 range attacks. It also has 4 AoEs to take out those minions while you focus on harder targets. Love it!

    Regen Question

Just hit 38, and all appears to be working as it was.
  19. Just a few (some of which show my age): Holding Out for a Hero - Bonnie Tyler Eye of the Tiger - Survivor Bohemian Rhapsody - Queen I Will Survive - Gloria Gaynor Hero - Skillet Kryptonite - 3 Doors Down
  20. I am sograteful to see continued development, and I can't wait to see how the cool down timers work. Specifically, will the timers increase if you are hit with a -recharge debuff or do they freeze for a while? It would be really cool if the numbers turn red when you are affected by -recharge.
  21. Absolutely amazing work. Can't wait to pour over it in detail! Thank you!
  22. There are reasons popular builds are popular... Spines also has an AoE toggle, 4 AoEs total, and all Spine attacks have slow built in... Synergy is the name of the game when min/maxing a build. However, if you enjoy your concept, stick with it! This game is about fun, so unless min/max is your version of fun, don't sweat it.
  23. Part 2 -These forums don't allow for guide length posts, so I cut it in half... here's the rest of it... Pool Powers Concealment You are a scrapper; you want to be seen. Besides, attacking suppresses stealth, so you will never be stealthed (is that a word?) anyway. Fighting Ok, remember how I said that Issue 12 led to my latest respec? Well, this is what I added. Tough and Weave help me better survive in Cimerora. Tough (and Resilience) also lets me hit the scrapper resistance caps to all but Psi when Moment of Glory is on. Fitness Some say that a Regen doesn’t need Stamina, and they are right. However, I am a firm believer in Stamina for all. The addition of Health on top of your already prodigious regen is also quite nice. Flight Air Superiority is a nice attack to fill your attack chain early on. And its knockdown is nice for the same reasons as Ripper’s knockback. Flight is the slowest travel power though, and it just doesn’t feel like a scrapper to me. Leadership Believe it or not, I’ve used this pool in the past, and here is why. Assault adds to your damage! It doesn’t matter if it doesn’t add as much as a Defender or Controller would. It ADDS to your damage. You are a scrapper. This is a good thing. Also, Tactics is great for hitting things more frequently. Leaping As a matter of personal taste, I find Combat Jumping to be the single most useful pool power in the game. Added vertical movement in combat; added defense; added control in the air; you can “climb” almost vertical walls; and you laugh at immobilize powers. Super Jump is speed capped with just the automatic slots in it and Hurdle (you did take the fitness pool, right?). Acrobatics is nice for squishies, but with Integration, you don’t need it. Medicine Healing an ally is always nice; healing yourself as a regen is just not needed. Presence The Fear powers are nice, unfortunately you have to take Taunt powers to get to them… See the Confront power discussion earlier. Speed Hasten is almost as well loved as Stamina, and you don’t need two other powers to get to it. Who doesn’t like a faster recharge, especially on some of Regeneration’s long recharge powers. Super Speed is a fast way to get around town. Teleportation I have never tried this pool with my scrappers. It just doesn’t feel scrapperish to me at all (unless scrappers someday get Stone Armor). That said, Teleport Foe is useful for pulling when you aren’t in a scrapperlock mood. Teleport is a fun, if labor intensive, way to get around. Ancillary Power Pools I am not very familiar with these. I went with Body Mastery in my build and never respec’d out of it. Specifically, I took Focused Accuracy and Laser Beam Eyes, but these choices had more to do with concept for Quilcene than anything else. Pick what you like, if you have room. A Quick Word on Synergy Most guides go into depth about why this powerset works so well with that powerset. I’ll sum Spines/Regen up really quick. Most of the spines’ powers have a –Recharge component. This means your adversary is attacking you less often. This means your regen rate can keep up with incoming damage. That’s what we call synergy. Conclusion I hope you enjoyed this guide. If not, no skin off my nose (ouch, showing my age with that saying). One last time, I want to encourage everyone out there who has played to 50 to write a guide for their combo; especially if your combo is seldom played. For the sake of all the newbies out there looking for guidance, give ‘em a guide.
