The Cosmic One Posted April 7, 2021 Posted April 7, 2021 Hi there, i just wanted to check if this is a bug or a change to the way i remember Ice Patch working. It was (and as far as i can tell) was meant to be a slippery patch on the floor that keep mobs slipping and bouncing on the floor (so they weren't hitting me). I finally got the ability on my ice-fire tanker and was shocked to find, the mobs slipped and bounced out of the ice pushing them out of melee range making them attack using ranged attacks. some times they will run back into melee range but most of the time I'm forced to chase them to kill them. I remember this was a bug in the original game (that they fixed) but is it the way it's meant to be working or is it a bug? Just to clarify, i don't have any knockback enhancements added and the description says knockdown (not knockback) is what it is meant to do.
Parabola Posted April 7, 2021 Posted April 7, 2021 Are you fighting enemies lower in level than you or ones like clockwork that are vulnerable to kb? In both cases the mag of kb can be increased enough to become actual kb rather than kd.
The Cosmic One Posted April 7, 2021 Author Posted April 7, 2021 one run was Clockwork but the others were skulls (i think) that were about the same lvl as i was (maybe one lvl below)

But for the rest you must have been fighting at least -2 enemies which is about the threshold for KD to be turned into KB. I suggest you test again paying closer attention to the levels. - Simple guide for newcomers. - Money making included among other things. - Tanker Fire Armor: the Turtle, the Allrounder, the Dragon, and compilation of Fire Armor builds. - Tanker Stone Armor: beginner friendly (near) immortal Tanker for leveling/end-game and Stone Armor framework. - Brute Rad/Stone and compilation of Brute Stone Armor builds.
The Cosmic One Posted April 7, 2021 Author Posted April 7, 2021 ok will do, maybe just avoiding Clockwork 🙂
The Cosmic One Posted April 8, 2021 Author Posted April 8, 2021 Though in saying that, doesn't the kd turning into kb seem like a bug potentially ruining the ability?
Vanden Posted April 8, 2021 Posted April 8, 2021 How many Ice Patches are you throwing out at a time? Knockback powers were reworked with a new mechanic called Knock which replaced the old knockback mechanics. The old knockback powers couldn't stack knockback from different sources, but Knock can, so putting down multiple Ice Patches can often send enemies flying. oedipus_tex Posted April 8, 2021 Posted April 8, 2021 Clockwork will indeed be thrown out of Ice Slick/Patch/Earthquake zones. Ice Slick and Patch in general should not throw most other enemies out of the zone. These powers are flagged to ignore level differences, so will do knockdown even if you are level 50 casting it in Atlas Park.
The Cosmic One Posted April 8, 2021 Author Posted April 8, 2021 (edited) I ran around independence port fighting many different groups and had no problems with knockback. Thanks guys I thought I had gone to all that trouble making a broken build but it seems just the clockwork react that way.thanks again. 😉 Edited April 8, 2021 by The Cosmic One Spelling mistake
