I genuinely suck at builds, and would really appreciate it if anyone out there that has successfully buildt a Dp ? Ninja training toon with some decent survivability could send a build my way.

I wasn't necessarily going to take a transport power, as my vision for him was a more natural character. As for budget, could you give me one for a moderately expensive build and one for maximum performance?

I ran this combo to 50 recently and was really underwhelmed. Neither set has a build-up/aim type power, which makes the T9 (Hail of Bullets) feel really anemic. Dual Pistols gets the swap ammo mechanic instead and Ninja Training has a 20% chance to critical. I feel like both sets need to be buffed. This is my current build, which falls into the low-moderate cost range. I never bothered buying ATOs or opening up incarnates because I decided to mothball the character.

Here's the build I'm following right now.  Only 30ish level at the moment but I'm slotting attuned enhancements as I go.  At 50 it will be softcapped to S/L and ranged.  With hasten up the ST chain will be GD - SotW - P - ES - SotW - P for what looks to be decent damage.  Hasten isn't quite perma, and with it down you'll need to throw in a CP after ES.  Not the best blapper ever but I enjoy the simple playstyle and looking badass.

I absolutely loved my DP/Ninja build.  Likely one of the fastest leveling blasters I’ve ever had.  The interplay between DP and the swords was fantastic as DP likes to be in melee range anyways, so it was hop in the middle, fire off HoB and then start swinging the sword for heavy blapping attacks.

 

I procured my build from someone else here on the boards...if I can locate the thread I’ll cross link it.

Can't locate the thread, but here's the final build I ended up with.  I think I modeled it after something @plainguy posted but don't remember.

 

Pre-incarnate, you are S/L and almost E DEF softcapped.

But post Incarnate, you are damn near unkillable with S/L/E at Incarnate +DEF softcap, and Ranged beyond PVE Softcap, at least while Clarion Radial is up.  And don't forget that HoB gives you a big +10% to M/R/AoE DEF for a few seconds, more than enough time to drop the nuke and then deliver the sword attacks.

This isn't a cheap build by any means, but it is a very effective and fun blaster to play.  Flashy as all getout too.

This what I am running

 

There are definitely changes that can be made. 

You can take out Adrenal Booster and put in Blinding Powder and remove one slot from Toxic Dart and 3 slot it. 

Its a fun build because of defense cap, so I am running 8/4 or 8/3. 8/3 is always a bit faster. 


My usual opener. 

Kuji-In Toh for the Boost to regen and recovery. 

TP via speed of sound.

Hail of Bullets.

Smoke Flash 

Lotus Drop

Corrosive Vial 

Then mix up the attacks based on what is still alive. Some cones if I can pick off more than one.  If one or two purple cons still alive I move onto next group if close because they will chase me down.
