Street Justice - Ninjitsu build, looking for critiques.

Hiya peeple.

I just hit 50 with my Ten Rings girl. As the title says, she's a Street Justice/Ninjitsu Scrapper. Last night I struggled through a build of my very own for once, and would like to hear from any of you that like to look over other people's work. I've never posted a build here before, so I might be editing a lot to clean it up.  😄

Thanks in advance.

~Risky~

Here's the build I believe I went with.

Rib Cracker > HB > SB > Crushing Uppercut > HB > SB > Gloom > Repeat I believe was the ST DPS I went with.   I may do things differently with it if I ever go back to it as things have been added to the game since.  I didn't find I needed any of the Body Epic for more Stamina, as Nin's End Heal is quite nice.

Thanks so far to all that have responded!

I'm a little late to the game on learning up what's what with the builds. With the little I have read up on, and the builds that are posted here, is a higher resistance overall better than a higher defense?

For instance... BrandX's build definitely has higher Resists overall, while mine has the higher Defense. What potentially makes hers better than mine? Or, if possible, mine better than hers?

Also, BrandX, on yours, I notice that you don't lead with Combat Readiness > Crushing Uppercut and then go with your standard setup. Can I get you to explain why, Please? I'm currently one shotting some of the lower level purple NPCs I fight opening that way. Do you use Rib Cracker to lead because of its ability to lower a foe's Damage and Resistance?

Again, thanks to all that have replied. I'm really liking the combination of build/concept with her. 🙂

Nope but Ninjitsu is a def based set so, besides aiming for def over 45% (def softcap) it is also very helpful trying to get high resistances for added mitigation. All in all, best case scenario is a combination of high defense + high resistances. The defense softcap and usually goal is 45% for regular content and 59% for incarnate content. On Ninjitsu, I'd go for the 45% target and then try to get as much rchg and res as possible, something like this could give you some ideas:

Mmmkay, arranged things a bit and since I see you chose Fly, ditched Hasten and took Fly Pool instead (Hasten is not really critical in this build with a 111% global rchg already). Regarding your build, Concealment Pool is not needed at all, if memory serves, Nin already had a stealth toggle but cannot find it in the descriptions so I mighht be wrong. I don't like how you slotted Tough since you can get a better mileage from set bonuses focusing on one set. Also, you don't need Kuji-in-rin up that often unless you pvp. (in which case not sure Nin is the best choice) For PvE, just recharging it below 120 seconds will do. Also, you took Blinding Powder but, as much as -To Hit is helpful, I don't think it is really required tbh.

In the build I propose you have 50% res to s/l, softcapped to all positional defenses (melee, ranged and aoe), 111% global recharge and went to Mu Mastery to get both the snipe and a meaningful AoE since neither Sweeping Cross nor Spinning Strike are reliable AoE attackas, they could though be easily inserted in the build instead of Initial Strike and Ball Lightning if you wish. I also went with Confront to avoid those pesky AV's run away like headless chicken if your TF team does not have a tank or if you want to solo a TF. If you wish, can replace Confront for Blinding Powder with 1xacc in base slot to add a bit of -To Hit. For Incarnate Trials, you'll need def buffs from league mates which are very common tbh. I hope you like it to at least get some ideas from this build:

That's more to do with me never posting the starting Combat Readiness/Build Up and what have you.  Hitting CR whenever it recharges.  Though for me, I hit Build Up and then started with the normal ST DPS, as I was trying to land the -Resist of Rib Cracker and SS's -Resist Proc.

As for higher resists versus higher defense.  When I did that build, I was going for softcap defense and trying to get some high S/L Resist, while focusing on some decent ST DPS (which for me is soloing AVs without use of incarnates and inspirations).  I don't recall her ST DPS, but I know I posted it in the Pylon thread.

Any thoughts on Incarnates for this?

For Alpha, I was looking at Agility or Musculature.

Musculature for Alpha, Ageless for Destiny and Reactive for Interface (I love that res debuff). The rest, up to you. I like Support Hybrid but prolly Assault is better for a scrapper, still, I usually take support just because.

Thanks guys!

Only problem I see having is that, according to what I run with, I now have to do Tips missions and change her Alignment. SO broke right now to get that done fast. lmao.

And it's taking me FOREVER to find shards!

While I have done Tip missions to take a character fullwise around the morality circle, it is possible to just talk to the seagull and swap to whatever alignment you want.

Note that you can make your alpha with threads, not just shards.  Scroll down on the creation menu to see the threads-based recipe.

So, I did just that with Gull. Changed my Alignment to Villain. I still can't bring up any of the red side Epic powers when I go to respec her out for that purpose. I've taken her into the Rogue isles, logged out, logged back in. Still nothing. What am I missing?

You need to complete the mission arcs for any one of the patrons (which you now should have a contact for).  Or, actually, just the last mission in the arc, if you can find someone to join with.

EDIT:  (Arbiter Rein is the contact that starts you on the patron powers arcs.  Black Scorpion is generally considered the fastest of the patrons.)

It also had Guassian's chance for buildup in combat Readiness, which is better.

is street justice better on scraps or stalkers? aside /nin, which is the best secondary for StJ for top dmg output? thanks!

I cannot say about scrapper vs stalker, but if you want more damage out of Street Justice, your choices are:

  • Shield - Against All Odds:  Variable damage boost based on the number of nearby foes
  • Bio - Offensive Adaptation: Fixed 31.25% boost to damage with the downside that your resistances are all lowered by 7%
  • Electric - Lightning Reflexes or Super Reflexes - Quickness: Fixed 20% boost to +Recharge meaning you attack faster at the expense of higher endurance expenditure
  • Energy - Entropic Aura or Radiation - Beta Decay: Variable +Recharge based on the number of nearby foes with corresponding variable increase in endurance expenditure

Of the lot, probably Shield is the easiest to manage as it just happens for turning on a toggle and has no real downside.

It's probably better on Stalkers, all else being equal, though all else isn't.  Bio is better on scrappers, for example, to such a degree that StJ/Bio is probably better overall on scrappers.

StJ gives up Rib Cracker for assassin's strike.  AS is much higher damage than Rib Cracker, and it builds two combo levels.  StJ Stalkers face a somewhat awkward attack chain, but they do great damage.  They lack a slotting opportunity for -res (which Rob Cracker gives), but I find @Sovera's contention that we have overemphasized -res due to the peculiarities of pylon mechanics convincing.

I can mostly only speak from my experience with this build right now, I'm rather lacking in knowing much else as I continue to learn daily.

However, saying that, I think the combo works well together when you take into account that your first attack is coming out of Stealth, which is regularly critical.  I feel that she does as much damage say as my 50+ Warhammer/Will Brute.

But for me, my favorite build I've ever put together is a Elec/Shield stalker.

Assassinate the biggest guy there, pop your two teleport powers, and most of the crowd around you is gone. So much fun to do a One Shot kill, then watch the group bounce and bounce again into oblivion.

:)
