The lighting changes aren't as noticeable as they are with the regular skies, but they are there. I remember being surprised by that when I was doing that huge screenshot project of mine just prior to the live game's shutdown. I had to wait around a few times for the lighting to change back to the brighter phase, which I hadn't expected to be an issue in the Shard zones. Taker of screenshots.
