OK question what goes good with /storm

I have a Ice/Storm corrupter with all the bells and whistles. I don't know how to post builds. Make sure you take Gale and drop the KB to KD Sudden Accel proc into it. Super fast recharge soft control.

 

I have a mids build, but I don't have a version with the updated teleport pool.

I have a Storm/Ice defender build, but not the reverse.  You might prefer Water/Storm, so you can heal yourself.  Electricity is also on theme, of course.

Ageless for sure 

Agility is great, Musculature is also good (for alpha) , and Cardio is good if you dont go for ageless 

Hybrid assault double dmg is good, hybrid is a second place option

What you do want is hover , never be on the ground with a stormy.  That is way suboptimal

Range defense is the best defense in the game if you are a squishy. 

Being away or slightly away form melee is very powerful in the game.    Most defense debuffs are done at melee range so it's best to avoid those as well.  
Many other reasons why hover/fly is great.

Freeze Ray is your best DPA power. Slotting it for Hold really hurts this. I'd keep the Purple proc and then maybe go 3 Thunderstrikes + 2 A.N.Other. 

 

The return on Procs in Freezing Rain isn't great at all. It WILL stack though (pretty well too since the debuff lasts 30 seconds even if they escape it) so typically I slot it with 2 +5 Recharge IOs and the Achilles Heel. 

 

Lightning Storm, personally I like a Forced Feedback and a KB2KD in it too. That way you can extend the Forced Feedbacks by doing Tornado > [other stuff for 5 seconds] -> Lightning Storm and get 10 seconds of +100% recharge. Maybe taking 3 thunderstrikes out and making up the loss (a bit) in Freeze Ray will help there. 

 

Edit : I'm also unsure if the Chance for Buildup works in Tornado. I know it works for PAs but never tried in in Nado. 

 

Thunderstrike is also very slow and underslotted so why not Frost Breath and Mu instead. Artillary gives you some Ranged defense and is great for cones thanks to the Range enhancements.

Retired now but one of my first builds on HC was a Fire/Storm corruptor.  She was wild to play.  With burnout and tons of Recharge triple LS, perms double Tornado’s, massive firepower…..literal force of nature.

 

Ditch Hurricane beyond lvl 40 or so.  Not needed with steamrolling teams.  Just focus on your DPS and getting your END under control as Storm is a thirsty set.

 

Melee/Ranged DEF softcap with Agility.  Great damage thanks to Soul Drain.  You can swap out Super Jump at 49 for Burnout if you want triple LS.  I found the added ranged DEF and knockback protection to be more useful, but I've done it both ways.

Oh man, Ice/Storm Corruptors... with that +Recharge ATO and some prudent use of the FF+Recharge proc, you'll be chunking out Tornadii and Lightning Storms like a bodily function.  Mix in some Sudden Acceleration KB:KD in the secondary, the ST holds from the primary, with all that -SPD from Ice, and Scourge on top of it... things just die awful when you're nearby.

 

I like 4x Expedient Reinforcement, Sudden Acceleration KB:KD, and FF+Rech in Tornado... nets you a global recharge bonus, an almost-guaranteed 100% +Recharge bonus, and instead of chasing one target around the map, it'll just sit there and knock 5 targets silly until they expire.

 

Also a big fan of slotting Gale for Sudden Acceleration KB:KD and FF+Recharge.  The KB:KD enhancement turns Gale into one of the best T1 powers in the game, and the FF+Rech proc will usually fire off on a large enough group, making Gale a good follow-up to a Tornado slotted as above, netting you ~10s of +100% recharge, which helps you fire off another Tornado, which helps you fire off ANOTHER Tornado, and so on.  

 

Lightning Storm, I like 5 pieces of Apocalypse and the Sudden Acceleration KB:KD, to help keep the killbox tight.

Skip Hurricane

Dump Gale before going up the steps

O2 boost is up to you, I didnt because lack of enh slots.

Use Knockback to Knockdown in Tornado and Lightning Storm.  KB>KD turns Tornado into a blender of Smashing damage, more dots to dot while you dot.  Lightning Storm is just for sanity reasons.  With enough +rech you can easily have two storms out at the same time and keeping tornado perma.

Use End Reduction in Steamy Mist until later.  I frankenslot mine with 3 Ribos, 1 LOTG 7.5%, 2 gift of the ancients.

 

Fire/storm, ice/storm and water/storm are my most played corruptors simply because of rain stacking.  Sure, freezing rain does not Scourge but with its -spd, knockdown, -def and -resist to keep things in fire/ice/whirlpool and debuff them its just amazing.  Most folks dont realize that Rains need tohit checks each tick.  From Posi2's city hall ambushes to ITF's ambushes I love these 3 alts so damn much thanks to rain stacking.

 

Fire/Storm I recolored Fire to be lighter colored and Storm stuff to be red/orange/yellowish.  Wanna guess its horrifically butchered name?

Ice and Water/storm are pretty much base colors because they fit so well.  Well, I recolored Ice/storms Lightning Storm to be more ice colored.  Whos ganna argue with icebolts?  you?

 

Also consider fire/trick arrow and fire/ice/water /dark miasma if you want more stacking.

I would never ever recommend, if you are playing storm, to skip hurricane. 

There are levels to challenges as well as levels to skills in this game.   I encourage any storm player to master the use of hurricane.  It is a candidate for the strongest to hit debuffer in the whole game from a single power.  It is also a formidable range killer. 

It's very nice to touch some enemies with it, then move away, they are crippled when trying to hit you, and their range is not there at all anymore.  

Learn how to maneuver mobs with hurricane.  Learn when it's great to repel them.  Find the joys of playing in caves, especially with tight spaces, with a stormy using all or most of the powers. 

That being said, I say again that Water/Storm Corruptors are incredibly good. 

This is me using zero inspirations, surviving the most dangerous of all parts of the ITF, part 2.   And using hurricane as a tremendous defensive titan.
