I don't consider it a good power. I'm weird, I know.

Not weird, just interesting. I figured that it being a great opener would be an automatic pick and never considered anyone not taking it.

To each their own.

It has the recharge of a Blaster nuke while doing slightly under twice the damage of a normal PbAoE. We can use a normal PbAoE five times in Lightning Rod's recharge. I just don't feel it merits the slots for a once-per-fight power.

But I hardly play Elec in the first place.

I've changed my mind since.

Also, gonna add a +1 for MA. It's become one of my favorite tanker secondaries.

How is endurance management on a stone/MA i am really considering this being my next tanker.  My favorite is a D/D so Dark Melee for the secondary on the new tanker came into my mind first but I see no one mentions here, not a good sign lol.

Not all that bad. MA isn't a very endurance heavy set to use, and Crystal Armor gives a recovery buff as well. Once you start IOing, you'll hardly have to keep an eye on your end bar.

On the other hand, Stone/Dark is a classic, if not a little bit of a late bloomer. Once you get Dark Consumption it really starts to take off.

First, with 1,000 character slots...do them both!

Second, Stone/Dark "pales" in comparison, once you see the stone tank animations, in Granite form, doing high/spinning/somersault kicks 😁

On my Elec/Stone brute I find it to be pretty nice whenever I use it. When it is up I use it. As a fallback  opener you can target a foe, queue up Thunderstrike, then simply teleport into the crowd.

Keep in mind Lightning Rod is a radius 20 power, compared to radius 7 for Thunderstrike meaning it hits 8 times the area.

I've been messing around on a stone/psy, and so far I am not impressed.  /Psy seems like a very.....underwhelming secondary.  The boggle mechanic doesn't seem to make any sort of difference what so ever.  Does it get any better, or is /psy at or near the bottom in terms of good secondaries?

EDIT:  I take, slot, and love Lightning Rod on every Electric Melee toon I play.  I don't care what kind of damage it does, it looks friggin' awesome, it's one of my favorite looking powers.  The fact it has a bigger radius and is an excellent attention grabber on a tank, I can't think of a reason not to take it.

The Boggle mechanic works but is not a grand mechanic. As for things getting better, Mass Levitate is fun but I am not sure that is going to ice your cake.

I do not dislike my original Homecoming character, a Rad/Psi Tanker, but I do not play her very much either.

So I made a Stone MA, loved it, modified someone else's build i found in the forums and got my endurance to goddess level.  After this i reslotted my old DD brute and get her endurance perfect... So my next will be the Stone Dark i think, stone fairy!
