Ice/bio build laying around before I reinvent the wheel?

Anyone got a build laying around?  Seems fun so far and did ice/shield and it was fun but shield doesn’t even need ice patch and thought it would help bio more. Also, where to put the crit proc?  Frost?

I was actually planning to do this as stalker for the perma slept bosses lol. On scrapper crit proc is best in either GiS, or FT. Best in FT, but then you can't use it FOR FT, and you also can't slot it with hold duration/winter proc/set which is really nice.

First off Frost is AMAZING. Do not put off  till 38. Get and slot ASAP.  Also, it's your only aoe till 32, DO NOT PUT IT OFF!

 

I also like BC on FT for the hold proc to almost always get bosses.

 

Split up the scrap strike set for more s/l defense.

 

Frost slotting on mine also allows some range boost too.

 

(Had a longer post but kept getting an error and through copy/pasting from mids lost EVERYTHING I typed GRRRRRRRR!)

Freezing Touch can take the Purple Hold Proc.  I wouldn't make an Ice Melee build without putting that Proc into FT.  Now whether it gets 5x Hecatomb set or another set, is a different story, but, I'd for sure give it the Purple Hold Proc, since it's a purple damage proc.

Totally this. Frost is an amazing power. It's also where I put my Crit Strikes (whole set), mostly so I can follow with Freezing Touch and / or Frozen Aura. Alterative is to 3 slot it with Scrappers Strike if you are looking to "double dip" on the Def set bonus at the expense of the Recharge bonus, then top up with Acc/Recharge/Range from Artillery and the Dam/Range from Posi's Blast. Throw in a proc (Bombardment for example) into the 6th. That's what I did (or the equivelent) on my Ice/Bio Stalker. Makes the frost cone 33% longer (10 foot to 13.3) which doesn't sound like a lot but means in a scrum you'll go "one deeper" with the wide end. 

 

Greater Ice Sword on the other hand is a bit pants. I took Cross Punch instead on my Ice/Ice, disadvantage is Cross Punch won't take the Scrapper ATOs. And its tough to take Cross Punch early enough for things like Posi 2.

You could add that sure. Slots are always tight though and I'd rather have a boosted hold duration purple there of I had the slot open personally.

Not sure why you would do one artillery, one positions, and a bombardment Proc. At least do the positron Proc for the recovery bonus. But you'll see in my build I did 3 artillery for 8% regen and mostly that very important 1.88% e/n defense bonus which caps you for that.

I always skip both the ice swords since I cannot stand the looks of them -- you can do fine without them, especially GIS.

 

I see the Theft of Essence proc in DNA Siphon, but I'd put one in Parasitic Aura as well.  Those two powers are blue bar fillers and you'll probably find you can free up some slots elsewhere since you should not be dying for endurance recovery.

 

Honestly, I'd probably put the Critical Strikes proc in either Genetic Contamination or Ice Sword if you take it.

Um, you can't skip the first ice sword, cause you're NOT getting the worst power almost in the game with Frozen Fists. They SEVERLY need to make it just Frost Punch, .83s like charged brawl/energy punch are.

 

Likewise, they also REALLY need to turn GiS back to Ice Slash that it USED to be, like the dom version is. Yeah CP is a good replacement for GiS, but not taking the ato sets/ST sets kinda hurts the build for s/l defense etc. To a single target GiS is still nice, just used less often in the build. It also does at least have higher base acc, so if you put the crit strikes set into FT, which honestly does proc better and works better before the aoe's, you could put the 4 kinetic combats in it, then put 2 damage procs as well to shore up the ST damage.

It's REALLY not, it's math lol. Was going to say how horrid your proposals was but didn't want to sound like an arse. You didn't even know that you can't skip ice sword, that it's better than FF. So yeah, you were wrong on SO many levels. Do your research.

 

Regarding theft proc, i always think of it as unique but it might not actually be, but I've looked at combos specifically to use it, and the only ones it would really affect would be those with siphon life, life drain, and rad siphon. Wasting a slot for it in parasitic aura though, is just dumb. I could *see* where one would think to, but it's just not worth it. Slot are always tight, and that's not a place that needs it. You're not going to use it on just one or two enemies, and it's 30% recovery per enemy hit. So it's going to provide more than enough, and more if you just swap to e-mode for it and swap back rq.

I was iffy on the touch of Nictus proc. Think the two shifters and the panacea will sure it up but gonna try it out. Rest I need to look at when I’m at the computer.

 

thanks for all the feedback. I’ll mash them all together and post again. Planning on taking barrier to hit soft cap and get resists up a bit more as I plan to run offensive the vast majority of the thin.

I think you'll find that you will have plenty of endurance with the theft of essence proc in DNA siphon and Parasitic Aura (I usually slot the latter with 5x panacea and the theft proc) so you can probably lighten up a bit on your other investments in endurance reductions.  For almost all my bio alts (and I have a lot of them) I don't need to give Health more than a Panacea proc and Stamina more than a Perf Shifter proc.

I'll throw mine up for esses and jeez even though it takes frozen fists as a filler power and only uses ice sword as a mule. Personal preference I'll take a lower damage power that doesn't have the sword draw. Also I run amps all the time so the build's short of softcap without those turned on.

Here is what I've mashed together with a lot of the suggestions.  Thanks y'all.  I didn't split up the one set cause I couldn't keep hasten close to perma breaking it up any.  Taking barrier so that will get me to 45% to everything anyway.  This guy has more defense than my current build (which is old) of spines/bio and he lives just fine.
