Handling my Altitis

One way I am addressing my altitis is by staying on one character for a month, getting as far as I can with them.

Badges, T4 ...etc

This is outside things like MM Mondays and Tanker Tuesdays 🙂 and my Base Building days

 

The switch is painful.

 

I spent a month on my DP/Nin blaster, which was a blast! Pun intended.

It is odd to be on a blaster with no form of buildup

 

I switched to a Dark/EA Dom on Feb 1st 

ugh

It took three days to settle in, and a few respec to figure things out

 

What is your process? How long do you stay? How often do you switch?

Control the altitis? Nope. No. Nuh uh. Absolutely not. Impossible.

 

If it's working for you, then that's great! I can't. I simply have to let it take control or I will combust.

 

My process is I will randomly just have ideas for 3 alts at a time. I'll make all 3 of them. Will I play them? Who knows. But now they're there. I think the longest I've gone without making a new toon is probably a few weeks tops.

 

How long I stay on and how often I switch is simply left to the powers that be. Sometimes I'm playing a different toon every day. If I'm lucky I'll play something long enough to make it to 50+.

I don't have any alts. Just 90+ mains. In CoH. Doesn't count all my mains in LOTRO and STO.

 

Someone once asked me how much time I have to spend in games to play all of those characters. My response is that it doesn't take any more time to play 100 characters than it takes to play 1. It just gives me variety in how I spend that time. 🙂

 

That may be why I don't have any characters at the level cap in LOTRO (and I'm a Founder/Life-timer). By the time one of my characters gets there, some smart aleck has moved the cap.

I find one of the biggest problems is that it's so easy to get to 50 now I have a lot that all need a lot of work, which means some get left to moulder while I'm working on my next thing without ever reaching "completion"

I've been slack recently but usually I delete content characters that I haven't played in a while and can't find the urge to want to. Exceptions for some of my early favorites that I've played to death but still adore.

 

The roster is due for another purge soon.

levelled my third HC main to 50 the other week with @Xiddo. am now the proud owner of an elec/shield stalker

 

though, i suddenly now have an urge to play my dom main again.. so i guess it’s back to a long spell of reverse altitis

I play a different character every  time I log in.  Not necessarily a new character.  I have 50 or so I rotate through.

I teamed with someone earlier who has 300 50s and let me tell you I am SHOOK.

 

I probably have six 50s. I tend go through long-spells in toons. But try and focus on different content. So maybe two weeks doing redside only, then I’ll do two weeks doing blue missions, then I’ll do a spell of just TFs/SFs. I might swap over to the odd other alt - depending on what @MoonSheep’s most recent alt needs (usually my kin) 😉 - for other stuff and then I think to myself “I should play this more…”

 

I really, really overplayed my dom. Or maybe I just overplayed plant. When I came to HC I remade my plant/kin, then a plant/psi dom which I then went badge happy on. I just know everything is easy on her. And it means if I try and make a new dom I just compare to plant!

 

I’ve been maining my PB for months now. It’s pretty much everything I could want. I mostly exemp. But in steam roll content - kill all ITFs - I’ll use the WS. Cos Shadow Slip is amazing.
