BeornOTNS
Hey folks, my defenses are both over blown and not enough, and apart from when Rune of Protection is up, my resistances are less than I want too. I don't have hasten, and since the combat jumping is not all THAT useful, I might swap hasten for that, and take one of the slots from either health or stamina. Sovera
You're not going to have high resistances with Energy Armor since it's a defense set. But everything looks somewhat in order. What are your actual goals and what are you fighting that is making you feel squishy? - Simple guide for newcomers. - Money making included among other things. - Tanker Fire Armor: the Turtle, the Allrounder, the Dragon, and compilation of Fire Armor builds. - Tanker Stone Armor: beginner friendly (near) immortal Tanker for leveling/end-game and Stone Armor framework. - Brute Rad/Stone and compilation of Brute Stone Armor builds. Sovera
Here's a tinkered build. Pushed your resistances up without extras like Rune of Protection, improved damage a bit, shored your negative defense. You forgot your Brute's ATOs which made your slotting harder so you should be able to get some slotting ideas from this to incorporate into your build. mids_build.mbd - Simple guide for newcomers. I was wondering, is there a way to keep the more magical aspects of the build from the Sorcery pool? If not, no worries. Just the magical flight combining fly AND teleport was cool, and the runes that floated around me were kinda neat. Once again, I love the build you made. And, I can raise the inf needed to make just about anything in a few days. But I was digging the "spooky demon trying to leave evil behind through magick" concept. ~B P.S.- So, electrical fences was just gotten in order to get to Ball Lightning in Mu Mastery? I know that it is a decent CC power. But, Energy is a hard hitter and might not need it. Thanks! Edited January 23 by BeornOTNS I love ALL Archetypes, but prefer to play them Blue-Side. Maybe a combat aura (one that turns on only in combat then turns off).. maybe Runes. https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/Auras 1 "Homecoming is not perfect but it is still better than the alternative.. at least so far" - Unknown (Wise words Unknown!) I know that it is a decent CC power. But, Energy is a hard hitter and might not need it. Thanks! You're welcome, and I would not take Ball Lightning at all to be fair, I just wanted to leave your powers (mostly) untouched. You don't need Electrical Fences since you're a Brute and have an agro aura so mobs never run away from you which is what EF is meant to prevent. That said an extra AoE would not be amiss since Energy Melee is weak in that department. Instead I would go for either Soul Mastery and get Gloom, which is a strong single target move (but would need to find the slots for it) with Dark Obliteration (Ball Lightning, except it's dark themed). Or Energy Mastery for Focused Accuracy (not hugely needed but it does protect against accuracy debuffs, and best part, does not need slots) with Energy Torrent for a bit of an extra AoE (though it's a cone so it needs to be aimed, but we can slot a Force Feedback proc to enhance recharge times). Or you ignore the epic pools and just take Power Crash. It's a cone as well, but it's available at level 22 instead of 41, and it will prop your AoE up that is a bit weak with just Whirling Hands. As Troo pointed you can try the auras in the tailors, but that said if you like Mystic Flight there is no reason not to. Theme and enjoyment trumps 2% extra defense. 1 - Simple guide for newcomers. WuTang
Brand new to the game and enjoying every minute.... EDIT: Whoops! My guy is actually Energy/Radiation. Said I was brand new....and apparenty I can't delete this pointless post so...just ignore it. Not to hijack the thread but do you not have Partical Shield? I have it and it's great...at least at 35. I've enhanced it so that I can keep it on with barely a second between cycles and with extra HP and shield, and I haven't solo'd a run yet where the mobs can bring the shield down before it's CD has expired. My guy is Science Energy/Energy Energy/Radiation Brute. On another note, based on some forum reading I respec'd and tried to get Hasten's recharge down to 2 minutes and could not achieve it, only got to 3.5 min. Is 2 min still achievable? Thanks! And happy hunting! Edited January 26 by WuTang

And happy hunting! It's plenty achievable. I think the worst time I had for Hasten was 150 seconds but it's usually in the 135 second range, so 15 seconds downtime. That said it's not *easily* achievable once we start wanting to also consolidate defenses and resistances. Price is, honestly, the least of a worry since money trickles in and IOs can be transferred between characters. For a long long long time, and I'm talking 20-40 characters long, I'd just transfer the IOs from one character to the next instead of earning a fresh 700-800 million each time. Decided to take a swing at things and cribbed from the design for my SS/EA Brute who sits at 70% Smash/Lethal resistance (notably lower otherwise). The difference in offensive powersets places some limits on what can be done, as does trying to not too fundamentally redesign what you have (oh, but you are so close to perma-Hasten). Not sure if what follows is how new Mids handles data chunks or not.
