Hide and go seek is fun but its ruined by the ability to run around spamming a location macro for someones name. 

 

We need a power kinda like "only affect self" but one that makes you unable to be targeted by other players and unable to target other players while its on. Imagine the possibilities when hide and go seek requires actual seeking.

What you'd need is a power one can voluntarily use for themselves, including an obvious indicator to outside observers, that prevents THEM from being able to target anything, that way it couldn't be exploited in PvP or the like.

This would be great fun for RP stuff like hide and seek, but it'd have to be severely limited in PvP zones - having an invincible opportunist (or even observer) on your team could get you a very powerful advantage.  So, in PvP zones: this mode should have a long interruptible cast (no sneaking out of combat), and you can't even see enemy combatants (unless they're also in this mode, so you can RP that way).  They can still see you, though, to discourage attempting to leave this mode to ambush (as you'd likely be the one ambushed).  Oh, and can't forget "Only affecting self", because burn patches location targeted AoEs are a thing.

How about since powers function differently in PvP zones, it simply becomes an only affects self effect without the untargetable part while in PvP zones? Or even make it not function at all in PvP zones.

Or simply nuke the power in the player’s tray, when in pvp mode. There are so many exploits with this that it simply should not even be activatable  when you are in pvp mode.

Don't you have to be in a PvP zone to be in PvP mode? Even the arenas are technically PvP zones for this consideration since they are isolated from the PvE zones like every other instance map.

Correct. Bases, Zones, and Instanced maps.

The problem with this is that the way that people report players, say for griefing or trademark violation, is to click on the player and select report.

 

If a player isn't targetable then it makes it easier for them to grief and more difficult to report them.
