For the zone or server in total?

Since it's for the whoall command, I'd say zone.   I generally do a quick parse that counts the results, but as you say, it can be thrown off by hidden players.

It would be handy, though instead you can do /search and check the zone you are curious about.  (I just checked The Hive to see that is has 47 non-hidden people in it)

Aye, definitely per zone..just to compliment the list given.

I'm kinda torn on the inclusion of hidden players in the numbers..I'm used to being able to do dev-level stuff (on another emulator) and have to remember I'm just a player here 😉

But, it would be nice to be able to report issues and include the zone load when something occurs 👍

I wish that /search would do a complete search.  Many moons ago it used to and you could see 300+ characters.  At some point they changed it so that you can only see 50.  And while we are at it, I would like to add villain and Praetorian zones to the count even if you are a hero, with options to limit.

For zones that cap at 50, especially, it would be nice to be able to see something like <Hidden Player> in the /sea results and zone count. There have been times I am still advertising for The Abyss with 47 people showing in zone, but people send me tells saying the zone is full.

Or, maybe better would be a slash command that just returns how many people are in the zone, hidden or not. Something like /countplayers "Atlas Park 33" - I could compare that to what /sea is showing and calculate how many hidden players are in the zone, but honestly the total number in the zone is all I am looking for.

Amen, Brother Flea. I wish I could /sea any zone.

Old Search was incredible.  You could view only what you wanted to invite and send tells asking if they were interested in X: that was a fun system.  Obviously using LFG chat or global chat channels, and waiting for players to contact you, is significantly easier.  But I think about the old style of forming teams fairly often.

I still utilize the old search style for recruiting for a team, especially if someone has a search comment.

Would it be possible to get a player count total added to the /whoall command?

If you are just trying to get a general count for a server as a whole:

They've also added an annoying cool down now to using /search.

Yeah. I've been running into that a lot after I sort by level and I'm trying to check specific level ranges to see if there are enough characters around that level that might be interested in teaming up. Depending on the server that could be over 4 searches to toggle through the different level sorting.

If someone posts a reply quoting me and I don't reply, they may be on ignore.

(It seems I'm involved with so much at this point that I may not be able to easily retrieve access to all the notifications)

Some players know that I have them on ignore and are likely to make posts knowing that is the case.

But the fact that I have them on ignore won't stop some of them from bullying and harassing people, because some of them love to do it. There is a group that have banded together to target forum posters they don't like. They think that this behavior is acceptable.

Ignore (in the forums) and /ignore (in-game) are tools to improve your gaming experience. Don't feel bad about using them.

I pretty much use the search function(s) (including /whoall) exclusively for open-world hunts, zone events, and Giant Monster fights. If the player is hidden, obviously I'm not going to notify or invite them.

I can live with the cooldown period, because database queries... yet I still find it annoying because the of the 50-player display limit. If I had to guess why there is such a limit, I suspect it is probably more to do with the UI (e.g. window, scrollbar) than anything else... the window UI seems to get flaky above a certain number of lines to display... for example, with recipes.

The biggest issue IMO is that I can't query across red/blue/echo sides/zones. Maybe this exists for PvP reasons?
