gameboy1234
I'm a bit disappointed. There's only DE in the Longbow cell blocks in Nerva. I was hoping for something more sinister.. What other things could we stick in those cell blocks? Some randomly appearing spawn would be neat, so there's new things to see each time you wander by. My first thought was some pirate ghosts, with the "struggle" emote bound up by some sort of energy. Bonus points if they're inside one of those spirit traps from Port Oaks. Circle of Thorns mages also come to mind. Bonus points if they react to a nearby player, promising "untold power" or something if they are released. Super villains is another obvious one. Looking dejected and sitting on the cell floor, or even just lying down. Any other ideas?
Snarky
Villains. Of various levels. In cells awaiting transport to the zig. Different ones cycling through. Randomized ones using costume randomizer, random powers (or use the longbow officer / ballista sets as they are near endless and the code is already written)

A story arc where you start off (falsely) imprisoned by Longbow and have to bust out, break some heads, and either clear your name (for vigilante types) or just prove they were dumb to try and contain you (for redsiders) would be a fun arc. 🙂

You're missing the concealed Arachnos reprogramming of the pop-out turrets in the hall outside -- they'll pop out and start attacking the Longbow there, who will fight back.

You know, I saw that fight. I didn't understand what was going on though. I just saw some Longbow fighting their own turret and thought "that's a weird bug." Maybe there should be some Arachnos waiting there, and if you talk to them, they'll kick of that hacking sequence. Give players who are about even with the Longbow an edge if they need to defeat some of them. There could be more sets of Arachnos around the island too, give the players more chances to notice them, and also each Arachnos operative should direct the player to look for more Arachnos to help them. 7 hours ago, Go0gleplex said: It's all a Nemesis front. Some Nemesis automations in states of disassembly would be a great addition.

You know... taking this seriously, it wouldn't quite work, because there's more blue side players than red. Even selecting random costumes wouldn't quite work, because I personally usually keep a couple of "civies" on every character, and the randomizer probably wouldn't want those. What would be fun is to add a mission to Nerva to allow players to "donate" one costume to the randomizer. That way players get to add their actual villain costumes to the randomizer. It would be fun for players, I think, to know their own costumes were going to be used as part of the game. So the mission should tell the player explicitly what's going on -- "We're going to use the costume you are wearing for this random character generator. Please select your best costume slot, then enter this mission." The mission text should be something like the villain finding a "patsy" to be captured by Longbow, and setting them up with "their" costume so they'll be mistaken for the player. This could be used to generate both random heroes (just make the same thing for blue side) and villains, with less work by the devs.

Scarlet Shocker
there's a party going on in one of the blocks. Personally I feel like there should be a lot more villain action happening there. Longbow - who seem to be an extra-governmental body with dubious authority - have effectively invaded sovereign territory. So why would Recluse allow that? I've never understood it. Politically it makes him and Arachnos seem weak. Why he hasn't put together a task force to eject Longbow from the Rogue Isles is a question I fear we'll never had an answer to. There's a fine line between a numerator and a denominator but only a fraction of people understand that.

It would be cool, but you know some pranksters would deliberately put in the silliest costumes they could come up with, just for the lulz. Maybe it could be used as a prize in costume contests? Recluse is a social Darwinist who believes in survival of the fittest. If Longbow is more fit than the villains of Nerva then the villains deserve what they get. But yes, Longbow in general often comes off like a “villain with good publicity” both due to ill-considered unfortunate implications and the limited AI of mobs. My favorite unintentional war crime was that my character, a Widow so no criminal record in Paragon City, while dressed in jeans and a t-shirt, comes across a cowering woman being threatened by Longbow troops (for having psychic visions she can’t control) and they immediately turn and open fire with flame throwers. Yeah, the mission is CoV launch old so the threaten and cower was all they had for such mission objectives back then, and the AI has no idea what costume you’re wearing, but it’s still unintentionally hilarious to have it look like some scrawny girl walking around the corner and getting hosed down with napalm because she’d witnessed them threatening an innocent woman. Then I went and did Bane Spider Reuben’s arc where Longbow is using mind control to brainwash people into being a private army they plan to conquer a sovereign country with… because mind[bleep]ing people into fighting and dying for you is exactly what heroic organizations are supposed to be doing… said no one ever. So at this point, I justify Recluse allowing Longbow’s presence on Nerva as Recluse accepting them (and his grandniece who founded them) as the true villains they really are (I’m kidding… mostly).
