Similarly, wouldn't someone who records their chat logs also be able to record the combat log?

Not always, and maybe not at all in this case. You're welcome to try it. The demorecord option is the most reliable way I have found for this sort of thing.

If that's the case, what about a setting for Null that allows players to opt in/out of phasing abilities? With certain enemies made immune and players able to opt out, it would solve the problem with a minimum of powerset fiddling, if that helps to save time and effort on the devs and the code.

No, because then players could choose to no longer be subjected to being phased by mobs.

COULD IT BE SOMETHING LESS NEFARIOUS SUCH AS THE INDIVIDUAL(S) DO/DOES NOT KNOW THAT THE PARTICULAR POWER IS NOT HELPING?

While it's theoretically possible it was accidental the first time it happened during the raid on Monday, people repeatedly blasted "DON'T DO THAT" (paraphrasing) in every zone-wide chat before the 2nd run that day, and it happened TWICE on that run, and then AGAIN yesterday.  Plus the offender was confirmed by a GM to not be in the league and hidden from player searches.

Hi everyone!👋

I'm working with the developers to sort out possible solutions to this, however, it will take some time.

In the meantime, please be sure to report any player intentionally griefing directly to a GM so we can handle it appropriately. Keep in mind we do not share disciplinary actions taken with other players. 👍

A hidden status does not impact the GM team's ability to view or investigate players. So they are unable to skirt policies due to this. Feel free to report any player suspected of violating our multi-boxing policies and/or griefing, and we will review.

But on the other hand, we have to actually be able to identify the griefer in order to actually report them.  Sadly, it's really difficult (if not impossible) to identify a single person with a slightly different-colored name than all the people in the league amidst the mess that is a Hamidon run, and with the inability to find outliers using the /sea tool it's even closer to impossible.

I couldn't find the option for it but maybe I'm missing something...is there a way to add powers/effects cast by other players on targets OTHER than one's self to chat to identify the guilty party?

As an aside, maybe we should disable Hidden status for zones that are limited to 50 people.  Or Hidden is disabled if the zone is near full.  So, at 40, you can't be hidden.

I could see someone screwing up and using the power once, but for them to be outside the league and hidden, that's a griefer.   Hope the person is made accountable.

Or, for a more radical suggestion, how about chopping out all the intangibility powers and replacing them with powers that people actually use for reasons other than griefing?

Black Hole, in particular, could create a small interdimensional cottage where your team can relax for a bit of tea before rejoining the fight.

Thank you for the reply and for giving this attention, Arcanum! Knowing it's being discussed is great, and we truly appreciate that you posted here to let us know it had been seen. I uh...don't have any solution-themed alcohol to offer you in these trying times, so here's a picture of a stoat in full alpha predator mode instead. Thank you again!

I've been running Hamidon raids for close to 2 years now, and although this community is great most of the time, recently there has been a player with a grudge against me wanting to ruin that for the entire league, and they can with a single toon out of the league on hidden with a single power (Something like Dimension shift) which causes the whole raid to fail and if we want to regroup to try again, they do it again.

This isn't a fluke as the first time they tried they did it early and we still managed to kill Hami, however the second time after they did it half way causing the league to wipe, and again today they did it half way and it failed.

A GM witnessed it happen twice the first time but the person still comes back hence why I am making this suggestion.

I am sure some people might say "Why waste dev time for 1 troll" and it's two simple facts, ANYONE can make a toon to do this and it's no cheese, it's clicking a button. The second is the simple fact this game is kept alive by the community and those within the community who run events, if every Hami I try to run fails because 1 toon presses a button then I'm not going to keep running them and waste mine and everyone else's time.

Why would someone have a grudge on you for doing Hami runs!? That's jacked up! I can only imagine the level of frustration that day. I know a solution will be flowing down the pipe on that one swiftly.

48 people's fun being ruined by one jerk is something that really does need to be changed.

It's a bad comparison, because it's not directly equivalent -- the сволочь doing this is affecting the environment, not other players directly -- but I read that and pictured Group Fly sitting in a corner with a drink in its hand, snarking "But all they have to do is go to Null and have him make them immune to Group Fly"...

Making Giant Monsters and the like immune to hostile intangibility seems like it should just be a given. Instanced Hami raids would also be wonderful.

Yet, personally I'd love to just see all player powers that cause intangibility on others to be done away with and replaced with something useful. Not only are they too easy to use for griefing (and rarely actually useful for anything else), they're essentially a tax on certain powersets because if you take that set you have one less usable power option. Note that I have no problem with powers that a character can use to make themselves intangible.
