Battle Axe / War Mace / Broadsword all three have very similar  attacks just some different affects  ie... Knockback / Knockdown / -Defense. Is there anyway we can get Whirling Mace and Whirling Sword to do the same as Axe Cyclone. the effect of pulling the enemy in close to you is in my opinion the best part of Battle Axe and i would play the other to as well if the had that ability.

Would especially be nice for broadsword to get a little something to distinguish it from Katana (that currently is almost an exact copy of broadsword and yet outclasses it).

Yea, the only thing it can do Katana can't is have a shield combo.

Would be cool to have some other differences.

Or they could just allow all 3 weapons models to be used for any of the 3 power sets, and allow us to decide which secondary effects we want...

That would be the cooler version, possible changed in the costume, so people could have different versions easily accessible.  I don't think the code would make that easy.

Well, I wasn't talking about tying the secondary effects to the weapon model, rather, you select which powerset you want, but can pick any weapon model you want...

That would be easier!  😄     So, just take the weapon models available for all of them, and put them in.   I could see that.   Though a Carnival Mallet doing lethal

It is sharp in its bluntness!  That, or maybe it's a reflection of that character or player's wit...

Had never heard of Axe Cyclone. According it Mids it has a Repel effect? Given how much I hated the repel they tacked onto the Storm Blast cone attack...

It's actually a "reverse-repel" or drawing-in effect.

Not opposed to this, but are the sets really the same?  I remember War Mace getting an upgrade around the same time Shield Defense was released and it preformed much better as a result.  And /War Mace is my favorite tanker, so I have no complaints.  (P.S. War Mace also does Knock Up.)

Just thinking out loud, but for general interest, adding a "chain weapon" or something to the Fighting Pool that draws enemies in might be cool too, just let folks who want this take it on whatever.

EDIT: since this seems to be a common "I want this" power, adding a few more power like this to pools might help, esp to cover sfx for players.  A small radius targeted AOE to Sorcery, and one to Experimentation.  Maybe one other pool ... I wanted a "gadgets" power but we don't really have one yet.

The problem is, the game doesn't handle powers that draw enemies in very well, which is why powers like teleport target were implemented instead...

Katana, Broadsword, Warmace, and Ax all have similar powers effect.    I think they all have a swoop that knocks targets up, a circle attack which Ax now sucks targets in,  and some other similar attacks.    Definitely a lot of differences as well.

I think they all started from the same basis, but then other stuff added.

And yet, we are saying that Axe Cyclone does exactly that, and we're asking for more of it?  Sorry I don't understand.

It's a PBAoE, not a single-target ranged "come here" power, though - different implementations.  If I had to guess, I'd say they probably had to kludge-in some sort of pseudo-pets to generate the repel effect behind the enemies.  Regardless, it's not about my being against the idea, (because I'm not) - it's trying to figure out how to pull it off.  The fact that such draw-in powers haven't popped up in many other places probably means that it's complex, unwieldy, or otherwise not feasible to implement like people keep requesting...

Or it's new and they haven't looked at the others as much.  I think they've only put in more weapon models.

Certainly possible, but it feels more like the sentinel SR situation, where they implemented a feature, but seemingly don't want to propagate it elsewhere.  But, hey, I'm certainly open to being proven wrong!  Gimme that sweet fast-animating "get over here!" power ASAP!!!

I don't think all these sets should be made more the same. Instead they should be further differentiated.

War Mace already is very strong as is.

Battle Axe now has Axe Cyclone and more to give it identity.

Broadsword needs something to differentiate it from Katana.

I don't think that thing should be just like Axe Cyclone. Maybe give Broadsword some kind of Lunging distance closer?

I think a lunge attack fits more thematically with Katana than Broad Sword, personally. I agree on the whole that the sets could be updated to be more different from one another, though.

The lunges are one area where I think Champions Online got it right - HC kind of addressed this with combat teleport, but an actual lunge attack, kind of like electric melee or savage melee have, for other sets, would be great!

Well, the Broadsword set already includes moves that really don't look like actual Broadsword attacks, and the Stalker version of the set uses a lunging animation for its AS...

But yea, anything to differentiate those sets, and give Broadsword a little...ahem...edge......would be nice.

I like this a lot.  Rather than make everything work the same, adding a new attack style in Broadsword really would set it apart.  I like Shield Charge a lot, not only does it do damage but it lets me reposition in a fight.  Lunge with a TP-to-Target could do the same.  I'd say go even further and add a TP to target with a wide cone (not a deep one tho, just a melee cone), so there's two tp attacks,  to allow even more movement from broadsword.

I still like the idea of adding a couple of "gather foes together" type powers in pools, just so there a bit more of it in game.

I think the better solution is making weapon models proliferated throughout the other weapon sets, disregarding name and damage type. In this game, wherever possible, form should be divorced from function, putting the descriptive aspects of a character in the hands of the players.

As for the 'gather' ability itself, I'd love to see this in a melee AT damage aura, such as armor sets with a Gravity, Hydro, or Weather theme.
