PeregrineFalcon Posted Sunday at 09:34 PM Posted Sunday at 09:34 PM I really liked Galaxy City, and started a lot of my characters there. I understood why they wanted to have just one starting zone, but I still miss it. Personally I'd like to see Galaxy City completely restored as a starting zone and I'd also like to see it made into a high level hazard zone where we'd fight the forces that have invaded it. I'm not sure how you'd do both. Maybe with Ouroboros, or perhaps just as a continuation of the story line, where it'd be available as a starting zone until your character hit 50 and then you'd only be able to access the hazard zone version. I don't have any idea how realistic a possibility this is, with our small volunteer dev team, but I can always hope, right? 1 Being constantly offended doesn't mean you're right, it means you're too narcissistic to tolerate opinions different than your own.

We've got the tutorial, then the arcs with Twinshot & Dr Graves. Then unless i am missing something, you have the Payphone showing what's going on. So, nothing between 20 & 40. Can't say I'm a fan of the phasing tech they use for storylines in Atlas & Mercy, though it's more interesting in Brickstown where if you've done the Marchand Arc, you then have Marauder near Manticore. Though the Brickstown stuff is purely decorative. Maybe more like the PvP zones that set you at a level, so when you visit Galaxy you get a choice of which era you're visiting and you get set to that level? 1

This keeps the funneling in for new players and helps avoid new players from becoming confused then they first start playing. I don't know how much work it would entail to make this happen, but I wonder whether the 'instanced outdoor mission' code could be adapted to 'bring back' Galaxy City. The problem is that in Echo:GC, you're in the past, so that even though you're registered as a hero in City Hall, no one in Galaxy City has a clue who you are. To remedy this, put a contact downstairs in the main building behind a counter who is the 'Hero Registrar'; if you go down there and click on him, you get registered as a hero in Echo:GC, setting a flag on the character. Now here's where the work would be: Characters with that flag set see all of the contacts, and can interact with them the same way you would have been able to before Galaxy City was destroyed by the Shivans, except that they wouldn't refer you to any contacts outside of Galaxy City (characters teamed with a character with the flag set would see the contacts, but they'd get a "You're not registered as a hero; you need to take care of that before I can talk to you" dialog). For contacts that got moved to AP, this would require creating 'echo' versions of the contacts, and all of the contacts' "referral lists" would need to be edited to remove contacts not in Galaxy City (or spread the changes wider to track where a contact got referred from, and have the contacts' initial dialog include something like "[GC contact] told me about you, but it's been years; where have you been keeping yourself?", but that would require an additional database change, and if this can be done, minimizing database changes should be a goal). It may be too much work to make this happen across an entire zone, but it's an idea. 1

The larger version of that is Fort Darwin in Mercy Island. Before you do Lt. Harris's arc, it's swarming with Longbow. After you do the arc, Longbow is gone and in their place are some Arachnos. Lt. Harris's arc is pretty distasteful (to put it mildly), but I do like how it clears all the Longbow out of Fort Darwin. Edited Monday at 04:39 PM by Zhym

Unfortunately, I can't quote directly from my previous post on this thread as it is on a different page. I think the way around this is obvious - you get flashback arcs in the Ouroboros that send you to the missions in Echo:GC. No extra tagging of characters. No contacts need to be returned to Galaxy City or Galaxy City itself. No reason even to put contacts in Echo:GC. Just get the contact arc through the Ouroboros and go to Galaxy City to do the door missions and hunts. I'm unsure if there were any "talk to"s in the Galaxy City Origin arcs, but I member them being different than the Origin arcs form Atlas City contacts. I think there were only contacts in Galaxy City were the 5 starting Galaxy City Origin contacts. I don't recall any other contacts being in Galaxy City. If someone posts a reply quoting me and I don't reply, they may be on ignore. (It seems I'm involved with so much at this point that I may not be able to easily retrieve access to all the notifications) Some players know that I have them on ignore and are likely to make posts knowing that is the case. But the fact that I have them on ignore won't stop some of them from bullying and harassing people, because some of them love to do it. There is a group that have banded together to target forum posters they don't like. They think that this behavior is acceptable. Ignore (in the forums) and /ignore (in-game) are tools to improve your gaming experience. Don't feel bad about using them.

It was either the peacebringer or the warshade, but I don't think it was both.

I'm assuming @Laucianna might know and can help us out on the Kheldian front. If someone posts a reply quoting me and I don't reply, they may be on ignore. Scarlet Shocker Posted yesterday at 09:29 AM Author Posted yesterday at 09:29 AM It was Shadowstar https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/Shadowstar From memory she has a pretty interesting story and I enjoyed running a Warshade to 50 but once I'd got there I never touched it again. That was on live and I don't recall even his name now. I neither know, nor care, what the difference between ignorance and apathy is
