*Glances at "MAG TRIPLE THREAT"*

You must've been trying to herd catgirls on that one.

Of the 23 failures, 12 were due to "Itchy Trigger Finger" (someone taking out an AV before the kill order), 7 were due to random stuff (poorly timed kill order, one team suddenly forgetting how to do damage, Walmart delivery banging on my door because they need a signature for the yogurt I ordered, etc.), and only 4 were due to an AV regen after the kill order was given.

Honestly, that surprised me - and I firmly believe that in 2024 most failures were due to a regen after the kill order, though I didn't keep track like I am so far this year. I mean, stopping your damage so we take out the AVs at the same time should be a skill set you learned in any of the millions of BAFs run on a weekly basis. I don't get how people with Lore and Destiny unlocked struggle with this. I'd still argue that window needs to be expanded to 10 seconds, though, for Triple Threat.

I don't join the higher end Incarnate stuff often, so there may be an element I've not observed there, but from observing ump-teen BAFs and LAMBDAs, I'd say its a pretty good bet that (A) people are not watching their chat, (B) people become overly excited by their assault and get tunnel vision, or (C) both.

Thank you Oklahoman for being a reliable leader.  For a brief moment in history we have stability.  Unfortunately the inevitable heat death of the universe will end that.  But we have here and now!

I know your dislike for the Keyes Trial, but if you want to lend your talents to something more frustrating than Triple Threat, try Loves a Challenge or Avoids the Green Stuff. Also, folks manage to fail Bunker Buster on a regular basis.

Here's the thing about scrapperlock (which is real, I get it) but in the context of Triple Threat they are already stopping at 10 and 5 on their AV. But once we get down to 2 I've seen people go stand right next to an AV with a damaging aura on, or summoning uncontrollable pets, or not being aware of their attacks that have DoT. It's almost like they are anticipating the end is near and they are in a state of bloodlust. Brain shuts off. So I'm sending tells, messages to the league, teleporting them away, etc. but I can't be in 3 places at once. It really is like herding cats - more so than with LAM badge runs.

I am thankful for the ones you run.  Nothing is more enjoyable than reliable leadership.

Well that and Raspberry Chocolate pie, but I digress.

You didn't ask for it, but you're getting it anyway. Here's my second quarter stats, with updated 2025 totals:

This quarter, of the 15 failures, 5 were due to "Itchy Trigger Finger", 7 were due to regen ticks after the kill order, and 3 were due to... basically me making a bad call.

On a positive note, MAG TRIPLE THREAT improved by 1.39%.  If it were an enhancement, that would be a huge gain.

Have also been on several failed 'triple threats' before it finally clicked. kudos. one of the harder ones I suspect.

I'm a believer that you shouldn't NEED discord or other tools outside of COH to get these badges, so other leaders may have better success rates using those kind of tools. But, consider for a second what is required of a league leader going for Triple Threat. You're looking for a narrow window when:

  • Chimera has just teleported, and you've allowed enough time for anyone he teleported from the other teams to return to their assigned AV
  • Nega's shield is not up, which is not something indicated in the game only inferred by the rage bar status (or someone very good at reporting it)
  • There's still time left on the clock for this phase
  • All AVs are at 2% (or, gulp, 1%) so they are close enough to be taken down quickly

If you can hit that window perfectly, you still have a decent chance of failing because after you give the kill order any of the 3 AVs can regen. Some have speculated that these regens are predictable, but I haven't found them to be. I've used timers and never found a consistent length of time between regen ticks. It appears to be like other things in the game, where the percentage chance of it firing goes up with time.

Once you give the kill order and the first AV falls, you only have 5 seconds to put down the other 2. So, there's a fair bit of luck involved even if you do everything right.

And then, even if you managed to do all that, you have to make sure not to kill Tyrant too fast in the final battle or it could bug out and no badge.

I've said many times that Magisterium needs fixing and I hope we get an update for that soon.

Here's hoping.  Since they rewrote MoM, it's been going well (the couple times I've seen, so tiny sample size).  Though that one was more a replicate what was done and with Mag, as pointed out, tweaks are needed.

I think we need a "Yog-HURT Delivery" badge in game now
