A Static for leisure and a bit of the absurd.

I want to put together a static party, a group that convenes at certain times and only levels the member character with the group.

 

Kind of like doing a D&D thing.  The group would communicate via discord voice.  ie Every Sunday these five characters log on from 3-7 to go through the content but not speedrunning everything.  Absentees don't matter as much because we can level adjust to keep people from getting left behind if they have to miss.

 

My mind keeps suggesting a group of all Tankers/Brutes with damage auras cranked to maximum just walking around letting things fall down around them as they look for clues.  But that's just me, I'm silly.  I'd love to see a bunch of B-tier characters, a Mystery Men type of group.

 

I'm looking for a leisure, not anxiety.

Anyone else thing this sounds like fun?

except for really strange things like petless MMs there are no "mystery men" type characters.  Most Tanks are A tier, although you need just 1.  and "need' is very situational.

 

i am booked Sundays, but it sounds like fun...  come to think of it i am overbooked all week lol.

Booked all week? What kind of bookings are you doing? Catering....clown at children's parties....candygram?

3-7 what time zone? I could be interested if I could fit it in

 

not certain I feel entirely comfortable with the whole tank thing but... I might get silly with it and swap Taunt for Invisibility

Sounds fun to me, and not entirely dissimilar to the last CoH static group I participated in several years ago. It'll probably come down to meet times for me, as I tend to play late evenings eastern time.

MY thoughts thusfar

 

I can do pretty much any one day of the week. 

The best hours for me would be some block of time between 3pm-9pm EST(Georgia). 

I wouldn't want to run more than 3-4 hours in any single session.

 

As for number of Players, I guess it wouldn't matter.  We can always add more over time.  With the level matching we can power up a newbie.

 

Streaming: I don't plan to but if someone did want to record, I wouldn't care.

 

Discord for voice chat.

 

We'd play the same character every time, and only play that character with the group.

We'd progress through the content, as many regular missions and plot lines as possible at a digestible pace.  Not speed running but just being heroes at a heroes pace.  More Luke Cage, Less Barry Allen.

 

Pretty much any character would work.  I'm not worried about a "balanced party".  If we end up with a mighty horde of defenders, so be it.  

My only Caveat to that is, it would be awesome if the characters were funny.   They don't have to be, but the universe really wants them to be. 

 

What server would this work best on?  Anyone wanna hash out the details?

I can do this - 3pm Eastern is 8pm so that works. Thusday, Friday or Sunday work for me

This probably excludes me then, as I generally am just getting on around 9pm eastern. Otherwise this is right up my alley.

 

The static team I was in a while back did a series of random themes, and I think that made things more fun and helped make a cohesive group.

That's fair.  Once We figure out the server, you could still make a toon for the SG and play if you ever had the opportunity if you so desired.
