I am suggesting to up the ability to have more than 50 people in the Hive or Abyss at one time, to 75 at minimum today's laptops and PCs can handle it as well as most internet speeds and there is continual lock out on the weekends on the raids being full in the Abyss/Hive.

 

If you believe that this would make the Raid experience too easy, then maybe do two different instanced events one for the amount of 50 people and leave it as is, then up the regen rates etc for the mitos/hamidon and make that a second version for a higher player count in the instance.

... is it not possible to create a Hive 2 instance by getting 50 people for a second simultaneous raid?

 

If it's flat out not permitted by the game, then I am in favor of this request. 

If it's "I don't want to have to start a 2nd raid group", ... my sympathy plummets.

I haven't seen it happen recently, but I've participated in Hami raids in The Abyss 2 while another Hami raid was running in The Abyss 1, so it's definitely possible. More often, though, it's been done artificially after a "Hamikaze" style raid goes wrong, and the raid leader decides that they don't want to try powering Hami down after reforming everything, and opens The Abyss 2 to move the raid there and let the first instance of the zone reset itself -- which isn't the same thing.

It's the latter.  A second The Hive or The Abyss opens right up once the zone is full.

The fact that a second above can open up means I’m going to have to disagree with this suggestion.

 

The only way I’d agree is if we’re that the devs won’t make any changes to compensate for the jump from 50 to 75. Which knowing HC is highly unlikely.

 

So a tentative /JRANGER get from me.

  • SO, I GAVE UP HAMI RAIDS IN THE ABYSS YEARS AGO 2020ISH (BEING BURNT OUT ON THEM).  DO NOT KNOW WHAT GOES ON OF LATE REGARDING THEM.  YEARS AGO, WE MANAGED TO DEFEAT HAMI ABOUT 8 TO 10 OR MORE TIMES IN AN HOUR AND A HALF.  AT THAT TIME HAMI WAS PUSSIED DOWN. 
  • BEFORE THAT HAMI WAS ZAPPING FOLKS WHEN GROUPED UP ON THE ROCKS IF YOU WERE IN A CLEAR LINE OF SIGHT.  THEN IT CHANGED.
  • DO NOT REALLY HAVE AN OPINION ABOUT THE 75 PERSON SUGGESTION, BUT THE DIFFICULTY MAY NEED ADJUST WHEN 25 MORE FOLKS (50% MORE) ARE IN THERE FOR A RUN?
  • THOUGHTS?
  • JUST SEEN THAT AN 8-PERSON TEAM DEFEATED HAMI, SO DOUBT THAT HAMI IS AS TURNED UP?...OR MAYBE JUST A SKILL RUN?

What changed is that people learned to break LoS before coming back to the formation area, so that Hami would stop firing at them; his blasts have the range to reach out to the sides of the pit in any direction. Similarly, there have been times when someone's been stupid and grabbed aggro on Hami in the Hive, then flown back to the 'assembly rock', where Hami demonstrates that he can hit people at the rear of the rock area, and the only way to stop his fire is to break LoS by hiding behind a rock pillar.

Nope. Nothing changed. On the rare occasions I do a Hami' run, and we're in the Abyss, if anyone moves to Hami's LoS, he blasts them. And the blast radius kills several squishies as well.

 

Like @srmalloy said, what stops that from happening is people knowing to stay out of sight behind any of the rock pillars until the raid leader says "Go!".

As @Oklahoman said, I would much rather an instanced hami so I can start it at a set time, people won't have to try and get to the zone 30 mins (Sometimes an hour or more) early just to make sure they have a spot. If it was instanced we could form it inside a base (200 player cap) at say exactly 10:15pm (UK time) and invites will go out at 10:15pm for first come first serve on shouting in broadcast, meaning you don't need to get there anymore then like 5 mins before start

Here’s the issue: there are usually enough people interested in doing the raid that you’ll inevitably have some unable to get into the zone but you won’t have nearly enough for a second group. Sure, I can try and gather the 10-15-20-however many stragglers and start a second raid but by the time I get enough people to be comfortable starting the original raid is over and I have accomplished nothing. More often than not a second concurrent raid just won’t get the number of players it needs to be successful.

 

A modest bump in zone capacity helps address this problem. “But now the raid is too easy because of the number of players,” I hear you say. I’d tend to agree with that sentiment if it wasn’t already quick and easy with the current 50-player limit.
