Blue Frost Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago (edited) Hey all, I leveled up a Inv/SS Tanker (Babe the Blue Ox) to 50 using the NUTCRCKR build, and while he's definitely hard to kill, he's not as much fun to play as I'd like. Maybe I'm doing it wrong, but I don't love Char and Heat Metal, and I find the Hurl animation a bit slow. Overall, he just doesn't shine likes my FA/EM tank, so he's been sitting on the shelf. I've been thinking of trying to respec him into Spring Attack in place of Hurl, and adding Boxing and Cross Punch in place of the fire stuff. Which would be more in character anyway. Does anyone use either or both of these? Are they fun? Anyone have a build that they love that uses them but doesn't sacrifice too much survivability? I don't really care if it's Resist or Def based, just as long as I can still, you know, tank and have a little more fun. Thank moo! Edited 4 hours ago by Blue Frost typo
Erratic1 Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago Hurl is for dealing with runners. Do not use Spring Attack, but use Cross Punch as the extra AoE attack for SS. 1
Psyonico Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Cross Punch is best if you can take both Boxing and Kick, since each provides bonus damage to it. Spring Attack... Exists I guess... It's not a great power but it is fun. If you're thinking of speccing out of fire mastery, perhaps take Gloom instead of Hurl. It's a really solid power. What this team needs is more Defenders
SeraphimKensai Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Cross punch can work well enough, esepcially proc'd out. Spring Attack, we all pretend doesn't exist.
Biff Pow Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago I like Spring Attack. It's not particularly useful because of its long recharge, but it's fun to leap into a crowd now and then. I don't know if Laser Eye Beams fits with your concept but Energy Mastery is a good epic pool choice. Focused Accuracy helps with +Perception and ToHit Debuff resistance, though Super Strength doesn't need that as much as other sets. And obviously some +Regen and +Recovery from Physical Perfection.
