Triumphant Posted Sunday at 06:55 PM Posted Sunday at 06:55 PM I like beam rifle. It looks and sounds just like what I would expect a beam rifle to look and sound like. Also, it's highly effective. Having said that, there are probably plenty of people that share your veiwpoint. Neither of us are wrong. Both of us are right, because that is our actual experience in using the powerset. I have a similar dislike (well, my reasons for disliking it are different than your reasons for disliking beam rifle, but still) for bio armor. Bio armor is widely (and correctly) touted as being a great armor set. But I don't like the look of it (though that is much improved with minimal effect settings) and I find it even more fiddly and clicky to use than rad armor, which is sort of at the outside limits of what I can handle with an armor set (though I'm levelling a regen armor character now, and trying to overcome this deficiency, because I really love the idea of the set). Point is, it's totally okay for people to hate the things I like or vise-versa. This game has a little something for all tastes. Keep trying AT's and powersets, eventually you're bound to find something that's perfect (or near perfect) for you play style and preferences (probably, you have your favorties already. Some of these might be sets that are not thought of as being more popular power sets. I know that I love Street Justice with a passion that is proportionately disparate from it's actual level of combat performance, for example. But the reason I love it is not because it's the highest DPS combat set, but because the look and feel of the animations perfectly emulate the thing that it is trying to emulate. Any and all of the above is okay, of course. This game caters to all comic-booky tastes. That's part of what's so great about it. 😎 3

Force Redux Posted yesterday at 04:02 AM Posted yesterday at 04:02 AM I love my beam/dev/arsenal blaster. Feels like a high tech sniper. 🫡 @Force Redux on Everlasting ----- (read my guide) ----- Gather the Shadows: A Dark Miasma Primer for Masterminds

What did you expect it to do? I'm surprised it looks more like a tesla gun or something than a more coalesced energy beam, tbh... 1
Six-Six Posted yesterday at 05:29 AM Posted yesterday at 05:29 AM I invested literally years of gameplay on 150+ toons that I don't enjoy as much to find 4 or 5 that makes those years worth it. 1 My Toons

The only I can think of is how the MM demon pets will sometimes do the "clawing at the ground as they are dragged back down" animation, but I think that's only if you intentionally unsummon them...
Scarlet Shocker Posted 14 hours ago Author Posted 14 hours ago there's the Police Drones which freeze and teleport ne'er-do-wells to the Zig. Something like that might work well 1 All the best chemistry jokes argon
TheMoneyMaker Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago Ghostbusters (all versions, movie and animated) are incredibly boring because they just stand there and blast ghosts with their beam rifles. Terrible action. Just awful. Ghostbusters alone should be the selling point of this topic in the original post. In other words, no. It's not the lack of dramatic action animation that's boring, it's what you choose to do with it that makes it pass or fail. COH Music: Origins & Archtypes, Heroes & Villains, Croatoa, Nemesis
RCU7115 Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago I can't stand beam rifles animations. It makes me feel like Marvin the Martian. The Mastermind robot henchmen have cooler animations. He'll even Preatorians Resistance get better animation for their rifle attacks (energy encased bullets), that needs to be at least applied to Dual Pistols as an alternative on Swap Ammo. Several enemy groups have energy pistol/rifle attacks while we get bullets. We need a real energy attack rifle set or attack added to assault rifle like an energy gatling gun
