BlackSpectre Posted September 1 Posted September 1 Where On the Wiki Would You Put the Fast Travel Accolade menu/power?  I must be tired because it's got me a bit boggled... BlackSpectre Posted September 2 Author Posted September 2 Let me explain a little so you can see why I'm at a loss...  The Fast Travel "accolade" macro/menu is NOT awarded by getting a badge, so it can't go with the rest of the badge accolades. It also can't go on the page with accolade powers because it's not a power, it's a menu that lists other powers. That leaves absolutely no where on the wiki to place the thing, and yet I kind of think it should be placed with others because it's an "accolade". Boggling.  Just FYI, the Fast Travel accolade is awarded when any of the travel powers within it are attained by a character. So if you get the Long Range Teleporter, you get Fast Travel. If you get the Pocket D teleporter, you get Fast Travel, if you get the Ourborus Portal, you get Fast Travel, etc. Although you can acquire the Long Range Teleporter by being awarded the Passport badge, it's not the badge that awards Fast Travel, it's the power.  So where the heck does Fast Travel go? Should it just be its own page? A one of a kind thing?  Black Spectre - A Dark Defender's Home on the Web • The Advanced Bind Guide  •  The Masters of BAF: A Guide for Leaders and Players • The Wiki List of Slash CommandsÂ

I would just make a stand-alone page for it -or- create a pop-up menu page to put it and other non-DEV pop-up menus (because I that the "Fast Travel menu" is the only DEV created/approved one) in that with links their own stand-alone pages. If someone posts a reply quoting me and I don't reply, they may be on ignore. (It seems I'm involved with so much at this point that I may not be able to easily retrieve access to all the notifications) Some players know that I have them on ignore and are likely to make posts knowing that is the case. But the fact that I have them on ignore won't stop some of them from bullying and harassing people, because some of them love to do it. There is a group that have banded together to target forum posters they don't like. They think that this behavior is acceptable. Ignore (in the forums) and /ignore (in-game) are tools to improve your gaming experience. Don't feel bad about using them.
AboveTheChemist Posted September 2 Posted September 2 You could create a page for server-side popmenus and include it there, along with the freebies menu, the quickchat menu (the little menu at the end of the chat bar), and include at least a reference to the costume popmenu even though that one is tied to earning a badge. There may be other server-side popmenus but those are the ones that spring to mind. BlackSpectre Posted September 2 Author Posted September 2 Ah ha! I knew if I asked someone would have a good idea! 🙂  Is "Server-side" good enough as a name? In truth, they're all part of the game client (in the bins/piggs)... not really on the server side. There's also editbaseoptions.mnu and freebies.mnu, in addition to the other 2 you mentioned, ATC... for a total of 5.  You're right, UA, the Fast Travel and Hologram Matrix popmenus are the only ones awarded to players rather than just automatically part of the game (like the other 3).  A couple days ago I created a page for the popmenus called "Official Game Popmenus", but I didn't intend for it to be anything other than a jumping off point for the popmenus' code. https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/Official_Game_Popmenus  Hmmmmmm. You guys are jogging my memory. In the patch notes I27P1, the devs refer to the "Fast Travel Menu" as a "Macro Accolade", probably because it comes in the form of a macro in the power trays. There are other macro accolades, the Hologram Matrix and the Architect Comlink (but that last one is awarded by a badge).  "Macro Accolades" will have overlap into the badge accolade category.  So maybe a good name would be "Menu Accolades"?     Black Spectre - A Dark Defender's Home on the Web • The Advanced Bind Guide  •  The Masters of BAF: A Guide for Leaders and Players • The Wiki List of Slash CommandsÂ

If I recall there is a thread somewhere about how to make them and there might be more examples of pop-up menus that have been created by players there.  23 minutes ago, BlackSpectre said: So maybe a good name would be "Menu Accolades"?  I would just call the main page "Pop-up Menus" because I think most players have been using that term.  I don't think that the AE one really counts, but I haven't unlocked that one on any characters ... at least I don't think that I have, so I'm unsure what that one looks like nor the costume one (which might be able to be generated by players themselves or something similar without having to unlock it).   If someone posts a reply quoting me and I don't reply, they may be on ignore. I am not in IT so I sometimes use incorrect terms. I merely meant that these popmenus are included with the game files and provided by the devs, not modded in by dopes like me. And for the record I did mention the freebies menu, it is currently my baby after all.  Technically both the fast travel and the hologram matrix menus can be accessed without being earned. They can simply be opened with the popmenu slash command.  40 minutes ago, UltraAlt said: The pop-up menus - if I recall correctly - were actually created by a player and then the DEVs started using them.  The fast travel popmenu was created by me (with some polish by Jacke) at the behest of the devs, but the hologram matrix menu was Cobalt Arachne's creation, I believe. 1 Popmenus > Badge List | Optimal Paths | Conversion Possibilities | Emotes      Wiki Pages > Costume Color Schemes | Set Bonus Comparison Tables Maps > Vidiotmaps | Optimal Paths | Halloween GM Maps | Winter Gift Maps | Offline Map Viewer      Sounds > Banshee Sonic Attack Datasets > Recipe Salvage Components | Badge Name & Settitle ID | Exploration Badge & History Plaque Coordinates

LOL So maybe "Macro Accolades" isn't a terrible name, even if there is some overlap. "Badge Accolades" concern themselves which what is needed to acquire the accolade. "Power Accolades" concern themselves with the powers that come as a result of the badges. Since the popmenus are active without the player doing anything, the only portion that is "awarded" is the macro.  In my opinion, the top 3 names that have arisen are: Macro Accolades Menu Accolades Popmenu Accolades  All of them work I think, but I'm leaning toward "Macro Accolades". So unless anyone objects, I'll go ahead and name them that.   Black Spectre - A Dark Defender's Home on the Web • The Advanced Bind Guide  •  The Masters of BAF: A Guide for Leaders and Players • The Wiki List of Slash CommandsÂ
