Early Game leveling - especially when playing in a team - is entirely too fast. I'm often out-leveling contacts faster than I can complete their mission arc.  I am aware that there is an option to turn off XP gain. However, this is not a rewarding gameplay experience. I suggest creating a "buff" that allows for only 1/2 xp gain (similar to the 2x xp gain at the Start Vendors).

Any idea how long double xp is supposed to last? Want to know how long to avoid the game.

Supposed to run until Tuesday, from what I understand. Probably turn off with the Tuesday maintenance.

Unfortunately, Cipher's post on the Discord states "We've also enabled Double XP on all shards until at least Tuesday (duration TBD)." so the actual duration may be longer.

You misunderstood.

It wasn’t turned on for 3 days - it was turned on for 3 days of playing time.  🤭


Hide for as long as you like, for it will be there for you upon your return. 😈😈

 

Instead of being emotional and punishing yourself, why not just turn off your XP?

Because there is a floor plan I am working on and a few other games I can play that I enjoy for that time instead. And if I feel like I don't want to wait that long after all, I will. Until my desire to play overcomes my hatred of attempts to shove xp down my throat though, I'm going to be taking a pause on playing.

For those wanting to turn off XP for their Toon (like most times running a Completionist Toon), I suggest this macro:

/macro oXP "optiontoggle noxp"

Yes. On every one of my characters in the game. Nothing I can do about that.

To a point; you can only accumulate 10 bars of Patrol XP before it stops. And as a corrollary to this, the change where exploration badges stopped awarding XP directly and started awarding Patrol XP changed how my characters approach exploring the city. Previously, I would run around completing the badge and plaque sets for zones as soon as I could expect the character to survive getting them; now, I only run around enough to accumulate ten bars of patrol XP, then play through enough content to run that down to a bar or two, then explore more to build up the reserve of patrol XP again, rinse and repeat -- and as a result, I have characters at 50 who have not fully explored all the zones even just blueside, much less changing alignment to vigilante and running through redside, or going goldside for those zones.

I really miss the option to disable XP and earn Inf, specifically because I would do this at low levels to get that at-launch feel. Sadly, this option made it too easy to earn ridiculous amounts of Influence with even less effort than it takes today... so I accept that I simply must disable XP.

I would be greatly in favour of this if it were optional. 

 

 

I learned early on that chemistry is just like cooking. From there I worked out that a mixture of Barium, Carbon and Nitrogen between two slices of bread gives you a delicious BaCoN sandwich
