Suggestion: 2 Billion Influence Power Set Re-Roll Option

Here’s an idea for a late-game feature that could finally give veteran players something meaningful to spend their influence on.

💡 Spend 2 billion influence to re-roll your character’s power sets.

How it could work:

  • You keep your character’s name, class (AT), badges, accolades, and history.

  • You can re-select your primary and secondary power sets, creating a fresh build while keeping your progress and identity.

  • You restart at level 1 to level the new powers again, keeping all badges, merits, and other progress.

  • Instead of being a one-time option, it could have a cooldown timer (for example, once every 30 days or 90 days).

This would be perfect for players who’ve invested years into one character’s story, look, and accomplishments but still want to try new powers without deleting their main.

It also serves as a great money sink for players sitting at the 2 billion influence cap, giving end-game influence real purpose.

Would love to hear what others think — seems like an awesome way to keep the game fresh while respecting the time we’ve put into our characters.

I think having to start at lvl 1 is too much of a demerit.

Step 1: Log in to the character you want to be "Super Respec-ed".  Save their costume.

Step 2: Log out and rename them.

Step 3: Create a new character.  Load the saved costume.  Give them the old name.

Step 4: As you level this character, go ahead and reacquire the badges you left behind.

Congrats, you just saved 2 billion 🙂

There are so many requests for this. I do not feel like rehashing this topic again

Well we have some great news for you then!

If a player wants to play just one character, that player can do so. If that player wants to play a new power set or AT than their one character, they can either delete their one character, preferably by e-mailing themselves any enhancements they plan on keeping or putting them into a personal SG storage and then sell off the rest to e-mail themselves that inf', or they can just make a whole new character using one of their 1,000 character slots per server and have a character to funnel resources to them. I am not thinking of something completely different than you, I am telling you what options to do exactly what you want are. Because what happens when that player that wants to only have one character decides (s)he/they wants to play their original character? Well, per your presentation, that character is gone and that player has to start that character over from level 1. And I really don't see anyone being willing to do that.

Doh! I'm so sorry! I'm too late...

I dont think its impossible for the game to be able to alter your powersets but right now it would be like asking city of heroes to head to the store and buy ingredients for a cake,  bake and decorate that cake and serve it to you.  The programming literally isnt there.  Its not a case of players being denied an accessable feature.

To extend your analogy, it would be like taking a red velvet cake, disassembling it and making a black forest cake.

interesting suggestion.

below is as good a reason as any:

Or say a powerset was nerfed for your main toon.

2B and returning to level 1. That's expensive, but likely worth it to more than a handful of characters. I have at least seven I'd immediately consider this for.

(characters shelved for the above reason)

You have 14 billion to burn?!?   Surely you can afford to donate to the @Snarky fund!

See you take a Recipe that is cheap on the Black Market (buy a bunch of them), acquire the Salvage, craft the recipe, and then use Convertors to change the Enhancement to something more desirable like maybe a Luck of the Gambler. You can do it, I believe in you! (I've done this on a level 1 character using only the super inspiration from the tutorial as seed funding )

Roll up a new character
Door sit in fire farms until it's at the security level you want.
Spend your 2 billion equipping the new character.
Actually PLAY the new character to raise more funds for more equipment.

Then why not just reroll those characters as something else? You would already have enhancements to give your new character from the old one (if they have set overlap) and have extra funds for new enhancements with what enhancements you aren't going to transfer that you sell/auction. If you are going to start at level 1 again anyway, then what is the difference? Copy paste the bio and re-assign the name.

(Edit: Even better? It will cost you 0 inf' to have done so versus 2,000,000,000 inf'. Now that's a bargain!)

I think it's the various grinding bits to get all the badges, etc...   Maybe creation date, but since that isn't displayed by default now anyway, not a big deal.

I do have a few characters that would be much better as different powersets that either were fixed, new, or I just came up with a better idea, but I don't want to go thru the setup time involved with going thru some of the content I've already done that I didn't particularly enjoy in the first place.

Now, for characters I haven't done a lot of work on, I'm perfectly fine with just restarting.

The OP request isn't feasible, so I don't worry about it, but I can see why it's wanted.
