What would it be called to preserve the D(x)B name pattern?

 

Oh, and I guess what would you want the rough plot to be I guess. (Who really pays attention to story in an MMO? /s)

 

I guess to throw it out there, maybe a 25-30 level range focused a bit on a Skulls plot to fill in a bit on just what the heck they had been doing between the New(er) Kings Row arcs to when we see them in Provost Marchand’s arc and then Kallisti Wharf. Maybe with signs of the Hellions also preparing to up.

 

I would call it: Darker Than Black.*

I thought the DIB buff lasted til 30? Wouldn't something lasting from 30-40ish, making this new trial 30-40ish, be better? So, maybe something in Brickstown dealing with a breakout at the Zig? Call it "Dealing With Breakout"?

They last up to 29, they go away at 30.  i ruined a character for a little while finding this out

Shivan Jelly x Clockwork experiments spearheaded by dr vhaz or the council.  or just random chance

 

Shivan stuff is spreading in the sewers

Clockwork are gathering scrap and do that shit where a tiny bug touches a drop of water and cant escape

ends with a shivan monster with like 15 or so clockwork bosses making up its skeleton.

maybe start slow with a few bosses, they merge after death like the malta mechas and make some elite bosses and after they die a monster/av pops up

I would make it an obstacle course for the purpose of training supers. It could easily be a virtual reality thing like the X-man training room (basically an AE mission I guess), and would allow for a whole bunch of really cool things to struggle through.

If we go by the availability/buff expiration thing, the new trial would want to start at 25, and the buffs would last until level 40.

 

It's kinda important to remember that one of the purpose of those buffs from DfB and DiB is to balance out lower-level character's lack of enhancements. Buffs given to 25+ characters might need to taper off after level 30 or so, as a character gains more enhancers to round out their abilities.

 

I've personally made peace with the idea that we'll never see more of the Battalion than Shivans and Neo-Shivans. I'm content to simply not have the Battalion in game. That may not be a very popular idea, but in my mind it's part of the price paid for extracting control of CoH from NCSoft.

 

I like the idea, as with Bloody Bay, of repurposing a PVP zone's content for PVE. We could set a 25+ trial in Warburg and have the players fight Rogue Arachnos for control of the rocket silo.

Personally, I would prefer another SBB Double Feature before another DFB, DIB.  These are some very cool ideas in this thread though! 👍
