CrashJupiter Posted July 14, 2019 Share Posted July 14, 2019 (edited) Hey all, Every Thursday at 9 pm Eastern/6 pm Pacific, we'll be holding a 100 million influence themed costume contest on Excelsior! Bring heroes and villains to Kallisti Wharf to get your piece of the prizes! All levels welcome, so if you have a character you love on some other server and don't want to transfer them, you can simply save your costume and roll them on Excelsior. Kallisti Wharf is enemy-less and reachable from Atlas Park via the tram and from Sharkhead via the Sub. Unless noted, top 4 get big prizes, and each judge picks a personal favorite as a runner up. Here are the themes from past weeks: (behind spoilers so you can choose whether or not they take up space) Spoiler Thursday, July 11 - MYTHOLOGY (Gods, demigods, magical creatures, shambling horrors, and epic heroes) Thursday, July 18 - ALL-PUNK (Cyberpunk, Steampunk, Dieselpunk, Rocketpunk, and Punk Rock) Thursday, July 25 - THE BARNYARD (Cows, chickens, barn cats, tractors, corn, wheat, etc.) Thursday, August 1 - HORROR HOMAGE (If it's horror, it belongs! Monster comics, monster movies, killer clowns and tomatoes, horrifying blobs, and bodysnatchers, etc.) Thursday, August 8 - COUPLES AND GROUP NIGHT (We're doubling the prizes! You'll be judged as a group of two plus, but all themes go!) Thursday, August 15 - FOOD AND CANDY (If you can eat it, it belongs! Feel free to do food hybrids, like burger bots or candy monsters, and fast food characters) Thursday, August 22 - YOUR CHILDHOOD (toys! games! movies! Whatever you still love from your childhood, we want to see it!) Thursday, August 29 - ALIENS (scary, slimy, cuddly, fun, obsessed with hugging faces or Reese's pieces, if it's aliens, bring it!) Thursday, September 5 - FANTASY! (Swords and sorcery, high fantasy, low fantasy) Thursday, September 12 - NO THEME! (Total free-for-all! Bring your best costumes!) Thursday, September 19 - COMEDY / HUMOR! (Joke, parody, pun, and funny characters) Thursday, September 26 - GOLDEN AGE and PULP COMICS (characters the evoke the 30s, 40s, and 50s in comics and fiction) Thursday, October 3 - ALTER EGOS (bring characters in civilian clothes...and transform into your heroes!) Thursday, October 10 - GHOULS AND GHOSTS (bring your best undead!) Thursday, October 17 - CREEPIES AND CRYPTIDS (everyone is alive! But not for long?) Thursday, October 24 - LET IT GLOW (Bioluminescent! Radioactive! From a dark future! In a horrible Xmas light accident!) Thursday, October 31 - HALLOWEEN For our WEEKLY costume contest, since it's on Halloween, we're going super special. We're going to give everyone who participates 10 million inf if they say "Trick or Treat!" and the prizes for the finalists will be over 100 million each. We’ve put together over 2 billion inf for prizes! It will be unthemed, since all costumes are Halloween costumes. Just come in your best overall costumes! It'll be at the usual 9 pm Eastern on Excelsior in Kallisti Wharf in Statesman Plaza! Hope to see you all there! Thursday, November 7 - ALL SAINTS Spooky season has passed! Bring your best angels, celestials, gods, and divine heroes! Thursday, November 14 - TIME TRAVEL Are you from the future? The past? An alternate cyberpunk 2019? Do you drive a DeLorean or hide out in phone booths? Thursday, November 21 - PRIMARY COLORS We're looking for the best and brightest -- colors! We want to see saturated colors and your knowledge of the color wheel! (RGB and CMYK styles both okay!) Thursday, November 28 - FOOD AND FAMILY This contest falls on U.S. Thanksgiving, so we're looking for pairs and groups representing a family of heroes or villains! Prizes will be raised. Escape your family for the City family! Here are the themes for the next few weeks so that you can prepare: Thursday, December 5 - HISTORY We're looking for any historical figure from any historical era! Twists allowed! Thursday, December 12 - WINTER WONDERLAND For some of us, it's winter! Get all wintery and cold and bring your best snow witches, snowmen, yeti, reindeer, and wendigo! Thursday, December 19 - THE FORCE So there's this movie coming out on this day that concludes a trilogy of trilogies. It's pretty inspiring...so get inspired! Thursday, December 26 - HOLIDAY CLASSICS Celebrate the end of the holidays by throwing it back to your favorite holiday classics! Movies, books, whatever! Here's a short clip our winner, Evil Thriller, in action: He had a whole set of macros that went through a good part of the song. This gif shows one of the transitions. The group at the contest asked them to run the macro something like ten times. It was great. Remember that next Thursday's contest is all about groups and pairs. You choose your own theme for your group, but you gotta have at least two to the theme. Couples costumes are fine, team costumes are fine. In case anyone is curious, the whole dance sequence used: 21 bind files to run the spoken lines (Vincent Price's part at the end of Thriller), costume change, and other emotes 7 macros (mostly for pet emotes that wouldn't execute properly through key binds) 1 Logitech gaming keyboard with macro keys to control the sequence and timing of everything And yes, The Evil Thriller is available for parties, SG base openings, and graveyard hauntings. 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
