Not going to happen, this is a game not a job, I get by very well with it. You play by numbers all you want to. If I played by numbers it would suck all of the creative joy from the game.

That's where I am on this argument. The devotee of any game gets the goodies when they first arrive, why should CoH be different. I was here securing my chosen names from the beginning, where were you (latecomer) whilst I've been supporting my game? I don't hoard names either, except for a minimal amount I wish to later develop. It is not unknown even on live that there existed name blockers. Some of those blockers sold names just like internet 1.0 do and have always done due to the non fungibility of names there and here.

One staple I have in slotting is six slotting health and stamina on every toon. End can deplete immediately so I have to mitigate that, apart from that anything goes which will facilitate a more effective toon.

I've never seen my surname in any game, I don't expect to. Oddly it isn't even a part of the local culture in my hemisphere. Now that could explain some oddity about my biology! I don't expect to see my name in a game in my lifetime. Now, depending on how randy future 'same named' people are they could spawn a game developer one day with my name who would want to see their name in a game so...

Yes, it's always a possibility. Might just as well be economical and get a full set of six but I've split sets years ago. I tend to not do these days but it is always an option at the sacrifice of 2 set bonuses which may not be so beneficial if slotted.

And yet nobody goes broke...

Took me a long, long time to git gud on a blaster, learnin n learnin... Like many have said, it is a combination of learning the AT and what the game throws at us. Learning what I can use to mitigate that with slotting. Now I run a kitted out blaster with maybe a little room for improvement. But that's the game to me, I don't want it all 'nao', I want the experience of having, well, the experience. I've had 20 years out of this game and I fully intend to carry on learning. It isn't a game where I get to the top and that's it the game is done. The game isn't done. I'll never be fully conversant with the whole game but I've learned enough to get by. Your journey is just starting out, enjoy the falls for without them the highs are just inclines.

Also, legally speaking, ignorance of the law is no excuse from it.

I've seen similar issue for my entire gaming life. A player new to the game finds it hard and time consuming to understand the economy. Seeing everything as out of reach. I noticed it in myself when I first started gaming in economy based games such as this one. I learned over time how it ran, its value, the value of its items and the value of becoming familiar with it. So that's what I did. I saw people chatting in general about stuff, what stuff cost etc. Saw the vast amount of items thinking I'd never get to know the entire economy. Well after nearly 20 years in this game (excepting the enforced hiatus) and equipped with the HC (formerly Tony5) wiki I am in a place of familiarity purely because of becoming familiar with it over time during everyday use. 8 bit gamers would not want a graphical update. There are a myriad of inferior games out in the world with much better photorealism and far, far inferior gameplay. There is the crux of the issue, CoH is comic book based from the end of an era of similar actual comic book graphical artwork. The entire game is an exact replica of a comic book style, not a photographic experience. It is working as intended.
