  1. I've experienced 2 missing locations for presents - 1 in FW in centre of cemetery and other I cannot remember, may have been Steel.
  2. I love this TF, 58 merits + 6 merits for the GM (if it spawns). hundreds of mobs for lots of drops, usually under an hour long. Good training for our nubcakes too.
  3. Of course it is - you do realise that I can pause PX earning and play every zone at level right? It is especially easy now in this version of the game, in fact one is able to reach lvl 50 in a day and embark on incarnate abilities.
  4. I always was and remain adverse to PL'ing for the sole reason of the absolute enjoyment I got the first time I played the game by playing the content, back when it was a challenge. I would hate to PL another player and have them miss out on that. 3 months to get from 1 to level 50 and it was worth every dying moment in my solo journey. CoH is better in teams though! (just sayin..) One of the great comedic moments I've seen is a level 50 player asking for directions to The Hollows. If a player wants to experience a maxed out character for no effort then use the BETA server for a few minutes. It's a good place to test out your concept characters and radical builds. On the other hand, if a player has already played through the content on many classes they may not want to face another 'Hmm, week or so..' to play through content again to reach a level where they are contributing to a team in a meaningful way. This rendition of our game gives many ways to reach the top and none of them are taxing, if you enjoy the game as a game, what with the all the methods of extra XP/INF/price caps etc. And the main thing is it gives the player the choice. The thing I find of value over putting 'zero effort' in as a new player are the relationships you will inevitably build in this game as you journey through it. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- TIP for Homecoming:- TM an "I WIN" button for $10
  5. You are aware that the team running our game is not the original creative team aren't you? Everybody connected to the development studio has dispersed into the wilderness, probably never to return (maybe). Therefore the talent and ideas that produced CoX went with them. Homecoming continue to do amazing work by maintaining our game in a playable state. You can always play any 1 of hundreds of other *FREE* games if you are bored with this one, or indeed create a new character right here.
  6. 2 more... ... Twas fun and great to team with you guys earlier.
  7. A GM_Jimmy was spotted in Kallisti Wharf today in Statesman Plaza. I managed to snap this pic before he flew away... ... and some more pics of the Beta Server Test.
  8. Could be that you teamed with new players, nobody had a yellow, nobody cared, nobody listened, everybody wanted to experience blind.. I usually find that confidence is high until the wipe then team actually teams.
  9. Between ebay and mycomicshop (US based - link below) https://www.mycomicshop.com/search?q=city+of+heroes&pubid=&PubRng= I don't expect it was more than £160 give or take a few quid. A lot of the cost was carriage. Prices fluctuate. Whatever it cost, I've been wanting them for years and last year I decided to make the effort. It has been very fun and most satisfying getting to this point.
  10. Finally got my last issue from the US today to complete my collection of physical issues. That was a fun year collecting those. Now to break them and give them a good read. Happy Christmas me 😋
  11. I don't see a reportable offence there, just a player who is passionate about playing the game as it was by levelling a character through content, y'know, like games used to be. A purist so to speak. I'm sure his/her intentions were positive and they just wanted you to experience the fun in the game that they had. CoH has since advanced to have multiple ways to level up. The DfB can get you to lvl 20+ in no time. AE to 50 in a few hours. Get to lvl 14 and start on those Ouro badges. Grind out the incarnate trials from 50. Who cares, if you enjoy the game great, play it your way. Some players never get past the costume creator because that is their thing. Even if you don't want to level up you can disable the Earn XP option and do every piece of content at level and in order. One major change the game had though was that it emptied the maps of content players when AE was issued and that irritated much of the player base at the time. Personally I enjoy PUGs to level up. I levelled up so many toons on live that I pretty much am aware of most of the intricacies of foes and missions etc though at Homecoming launch I was definitely rusty as most were. I have my favourite power sets which don't include melee. There are so many combinations that I don't think a single player has covered them all, what with patron and ancillary powers + temps that can be acquired. I play CoH my way because I can. I expect any other player to expect and do the same. Isn't that the beauty of this game, the variations in not only teams but classes where choice makes an individual and specialist? Peace.
  12. Haha, I'm so chuffed that I was able to throw some $'s at you this month. Thanks for all the effort you guys put in.
  13. If Homecoming keep to their promise by being fully transparent we will know their needs,
  14. Yep - 20,000,000 reasons not to collect data.
  15. This would still be profiting from someone elses copyright as there is no other reason to be here except for CoH.
  16. Your idea is enthusiastic but it would not work. Twitch (Amazon) take about 40% of donations, twitch (Amazon) does not fund copyright theft. To have a named and known person and their bank details would expose them to the potential wrath from that Korean game company.
  17. The word'AMAZING' now belongs to you guys.
  18. Character: Causality Account: Water Battle cry: My way and the highway!
  19. “recognition and enjoyment of the good qualities of someone or something” This is the definition of appreciation. I can feel people nipping at the devs skin. Taking a piece of flesh with each of their increasing demands on the Homecoming team. Bad mouthing and filth conjuring rumour mongers grafting a slice of tissue from them like a fixated Vahzilok. This surely isn't our community. Our City of Heroes community that we so eagerly brandish against the toxicity of modern and vile gaming communities abound with unreserved testosterone and lamentable hate. Our returning community recently adrift around a planet for more than half a decade who have been carrying the numbing angst that we would never get our game back. A place where our cavorting capers would remain a distant and very fond memory that we can merely aspire to going forward. Has it all been too much? Have we busted at the seams and our uncontrollable bile is spewing out all over the place? Is our Id making the sustaining demands of an infant for our selfish ill will? For the majority of our community this is not the case. The effect of these, lets call them 'Bile Hunters' herein, the effect of these Bile Hunters unfurls on the tactful, resulting in reams of 'good advice' regarding patience and politeness occupying our multiple discords. The proprietors of which who are on the edge of a colossal voluntary movement which is trying to please the many with their blood, sweat, tears, time and money. Along with the sacrifices they have already made in their own lives so that we can play a game. It is frustrating that we cannot support their efforts more to ease some of the burden they have imposed upon themselves to cater for our gratification but they are a competent and well managed conclave. Most commenters just want to be amongst the chats, talking CoH, imagining builds, discussing pro's and cons, fantasizing about a moon base, sharing memories and sharing fun. Just as it should be. The way of the Bile Hunter is that of a petulant child and is best dealt with by ignoring their irascibility thereby gaining no validation, promotion and concretion of it. Instead, appreciation for their affableness is alone reward enough to promote and endear our community toward them; which would be an ideal outcome. Those who will not abide by this simple humanistic capacity will naturally drift off to other ports which are more receptive to their acrimony and hopefully keep them there. In each Bile Hunter though is a little bit of pleasantness. We can only show them the door, they have to open it. As popularity of the rebellious commandeering of our game and shenanigans thins out and settles down, drifting slowly back into obscurity, we will come to have the community once more that we desire. The one that has been there from the start, sure with all of its warts too but none of the Bile Hunters, or at least some of the converted Bile Hunters to boot. We are going in that direction even though we are now split among 3 separate discords and this recognised and authoritative 'Homecoming' forum. We have started in a great place with a positive stance in most of our player base who appreciate all the efforts contributed by the various parties involved. If you are reading this by the way, WE LOVE YOU.
  20. Yes. His is a very funny story and an entertaining read. Aren't we all experimenting socially all of the time anyway?
  21. Wholeheartedly agree. What's more is that I am sure many players would happily volunteer their time to QA test for you as well as your core team.
  22. Your sentiment is SFT, we all agree. However, your English is suspect. You should've written ".. could have said .." because what you hear as 'of' is actually -'ve- as in should've, could've, would've. It is a shortening of 'have'.
  23. Oh please stop "embarrassing" that Korean games company..
  24. By way of information from a user, I always said that this game 'to me' is worth $50 per year or more precisely $5 per month. As you cannot take any money for the game I am happy to be donating $5 per month toward the electricity you are using. It would be wise to bear in mind that after a game launch the community will half within 1 month and in 2 months a third of the community will be using the game. I wouldn't be rushing to buy more servers until I had a years worth of data. (FYI) Thanks again to all of you guys.
