Kheldian Build Recipes: Let's HEAT up the Dinner!
Carnifax replied to GM Crumpet's topic in Peacebringer & Warshade
Here's my current Tri-Warshade and a build I'm thinking of respeccing into which takes Experimental for the Adrenal Booster in the 40s (rather than a selection of "Whatever I can cram a LOTG into" 1-slotters). I don't actually need the Stealth Pool to be fully cloaked against most things anyway so dropping it (and Nebulous) for Experimental isn't a terrible idea, other than losing the LOTG slots. Dwarf is low on single target damage, idea is that if I'm forced to I can Tank for the team but don't expect me to kill anything. Didn't bother with Unchain Essence (too fiddly) or Gravitic Emanation. Sunless Mire could probably do with some tweaking, although in practice it seems to cope fairly well ingame. I don't on Carni, even though I also have a pet Tarantula which could benefit. The KB2KD is the one I always want slotted because Phantys cone can be annoying and scatter things out of Tar Patch. Plus the Explosive Proc because all their attacks can trigger it (certainly the blasts). I have perma-PAs to tank for me, Phanty should be fine as-is between Fade and all the -ToHit. If they die I just make another one.

I did debate which to go for, I reckoned young folk would have been "what's a Morrowind?" and been more familiar with the Skyrim reference (Mind you. Young folk? Here?)

The three new chars I've been levelling since I came back. Had to try the New Hotness with Marine so came up with Manannan mac Lir Storm / Marine corruptor (hadn't tried Storm either). Tried to go for a "celtic god in modern day" vibe about him. To feed my ever growing Corruptor obsession I combined two sets I've got to 50 multiple times but I love : Atlantean Arrow Water Blast & Trick Arrow. To contrast with the other watery hero above tried to go for a "humanoid made of water in a tech suit" vibe, using the Victorian Decor aura to give a "shifting forcefields" look to the costume. Finally I wanted a Shield Tank so went and tried for a clockwork dwarf / Skyrim Dwemer Tech vibe to give Grimli Gearsmasher : Shield / Axe Tank

Gravity is definitely the way to go. Everything bar Dimensional Shift is "lift / throw things". And singy I guess but he lifts & throws too, could easily be "a vortex manifestation of my raw telekinetic powers"

Obviously I have the Combat Logs on, that's where the parse comes from 😁 I'm more pleasantly surprised by the total damage it produces, especially considering Storm Cell is supposed to do the same sort of thing (but for your own attacks only) and this easily surpasses it AND gives the whole team buffs & the enemies debuffs. It's VERY strong.

This could be it. In fact, since the aura doesn't actually do damage it could be even worse : The proc works as per an Aura, on a once every 10 seconds basis, but since the aura doesn't do damage itself it'll never roll (in the same way a Posi's won't trigger off Oil Slick until you get the burn going, then it's test once every 10 seconds) More testing required, I haven't seen anything trigger off it yet.

Hmmm. Run a few tests now on Beta with Shifting Tides & Procs and neither the Parser nor just going through the logs via Find All shows any instances of Bombardment or Positrons working with it. This was running a 0x8 mission solo. I can see the base damage for Shifting but no procs (and the damage is fairly consistent with just having a set slotted). So I'm dubious that Procs work in Shifting at all to be honest. I can see them working happily in other pets (so it's not like I forgot to log them), just looks to me like Shifting Tides is not proc compatible. Happy to be proven wrong but cannot for the life of me see them getting logged anywhere (it's the only instance of Bombardment I have slotted so it should show up). Has anyone seen evidence that Shifting Tides works when procced up? Makes sense to me from a balance point of view if they didn't, since it'll trigger from any attacks not just your own.

I'm strongly considering Dark / Marine ( @Meknomancer was right, Storm / Marine has a LOT of set-up). Tide Pool -> Whitecap -> Heart of Darkness sounds fun and you get 3 pets. Fire would probably be better but I'm wary of End woes trying to run Hotfeet + Shifting Tides. Going to try these on beta later (these are cobbled together, likely I'll fiddle around with them once I decide) Controller (Fire Control - Marine Affinity).mbd Controller (Darkness Control - Marine Affinity).mbd

Thanks @Onlyasandwich. Didn't realise Chains was actually proccable. I just assumed "Chain, so procs are crap" Got Shifting Tides yesterday and ran a few missions on a x8 team on Everlasting (sorry Reunion). Not really sure what to make of this (this is unslotted!). I suspect the "Average Damage" is off because it's marking me as doing all the damage but not all the Hits (it's probably dividing Total / number of hits, but "Hits" means when I cast the toggle it on a foe / ally) Think I need to hit beta with some different slottings
-
Yeah, I'm getting Elec / Traps Controller vibes off the combo in terms of set-up time. But I like my Elec / Traps as a change of pace so I don't mind too much. Plus if a team is whizzing along I can just tag along and go 50/50 on dropping things, likely they aren't needed. Thanks for all of this, especially for the Shifting Tides advice. Had no idea it was so End heavy! And completely missed the debuff in Soothing. Might strip that back a bit and use the precious slots elsewhere.

Hey folks Back this week and have started a Storm / Marine corruptor since I've never tried either. Really enjoying it although Reunion is eerily quiet most of the time. Not really sure what some of the powers do but been reading other threads and cobbled something together. Basically seems like both reward you for getting things into an area, then getting lots of bonus damage attacks on things inside that area (although I haven't got Shifting yet to see how effective all of that is altogether). This is a levelling build for the most part so haven't bothered with Purples or Winters (I only give them to deserving 50s I end up really liking). (Note I've no idea what my actual Defense totals are because Mids seems to be stuck on 38% s/l + ranged even if I shunt things around. So this could be awful) Corruptor - Storm - Marine - cheap.mbd

Hallo. I'm sorta back. This is also sorta back
-
This is me. I make a cheapish IO build and start slotting from 27 (other than the uniques and ATOs which go in earlier). I'll also make a more expensive 50 build. When I hit 50 I'll decide if I want to go the Winters & Purples route, but that's only if I'm really liking the build and it'll add a lot. It's fun and late-30s IO builds can be pretty godly for the content. Feels good to be 37ish and be like "holy crap, can't believe I'm still alive"

Cyclops Log Parsing and Game Overlay Tool 1.3
Carnifax replied to KaizenSoze's topic in Tools, Utilities & Downloads
Nice, great work Kaizen and glad my rambling code helped. On hols at the mo but I'll definitely have a look once back. Really like the index page idea. I considered it but then I'd be getting into usernames and accounts and I was too lazy 😀 One thing which is also cool about an "on pc" application is it can monitor/update the info while you play so hoping that's something on your radar (stream-parsing the active log file as you play). -
I didn't because it was changing when I last made this build so couldn't slot into it. Thunderstrike is the cheap and cheerful option to get Ranged up towards the softcap. Or 5 purples. I do run Defensive Amplifier on this character basically perma (he's also my money making character so I can afford it with 20 mins crafting & selling work) so that gets me pretty much capped to both anyway. I checked, I actually have 3 thunderstrike, 3 procs in it now. With Def Amplifier that gives me just 45%

No need to feel naked. This is pricy (by my standards) but is a machine https://forums.homecomingservers.com/topic/47465-hello-and-thanks-for-your-time-if-youre-reading-this/?do=findComment&comment=599372

I tried but when I fired up Mids it updated and immediately started throwing exceptions and refusing to load anything. Mids is all over the place at the moment. Very frustrating. Let me see if I can fix it.... Edit, right reinstall and avoid the latest update seems to have sorted it Cheap build Expensive version

And raised from the dead. It did its thing where it forgets about the 2nd disk mount for whatever reason.
-
That's why I like to stack them one below the other, the originals let you know how long is left to recharge.
-
Actually if we're talking the change from Soul Drain to Spirit Drain in the Dark pool for Corruptors and Defenders you lose the set bonuses when keeping the old set there, but keep the enhancement values. So chances are you've already lost the +recharge set bonus and whatever else. My DP/Kin has, I assume, the same Oblit in there but when it changed I lost the melee defence. Posted about it at the time of the change multiple times in the beta forums but the devs never acknowledged it. Ended up just going with 3 Artillery and a load of procs and using it as another AoE attack.
-
It does. In terms of logging Containment just looks like another line of damage in the logs. There isn't even a "Containment" added to it, unlike Scourge or SHOCKED! so I've no way to show what % is containment damage. It all looks part of the main power in the log file.
-
The Graphs tab is probably your best friend, I've a graph for damage taken by type. Remember this is after ToHits and Resists of course. These are pulled from the Defensive part of the Tree tab (Offensive is outgoing damage & stuff, Defensive is attacks coming in). Individual attacks against you are here. Not sure why the individual Damage Types aren't being filled in though, they should be (Offensives are)

Try it and parse it via my online parser. Because it's a pseudo it'll give you the procs as subpowers of itself so you'll see how often they go off. Beta is a good place, you can slot it how you like try it on target rich radios (x8) and on smaller settings. And/or test it in "AV like" fights using a pylon. Generally overall patches aren't the best for procs, unless they are weird ones like Volcanic Gases or Carrion Creepers. That said looking at the power on CoD I think damage procs will be good and Slow ones will work far less often (because the damage is a "direct" effect and the Sleep & Slow is a patch). So I reckon Posi, Bombardment & Jav are the way to go here along with some Acc/Recharge IOs. But that's just me theory-crafting. Haven't tried it to verify.
