  1. It would be pretty dang strong. The scrapper I run with that combo feels almost unkillable , let alone with tanker hps and caps.
  2. Idk but I see so many obvious superman ripoffs , costume, powers, some of them deep into vet levels. It's one thing to do a ripoff character.. it's another to ripoff such a lame character? Who's your next inspiration going to be, Darrel from Accounting?
  3. Claws scrappers are my absolute favorite. I have 1 of each at various level stages, and doubled up on some of my favorites. At 50 I have rad, willpower , elec, and energy armors with dark, stone, and SR not far behind.
  4. Shield defense is known for endurance issues, and in my experience the IO's like panacea, miracle, and performance shifter don't make up for it. On my axe/shield i'm running all those and have stamina 3 slotted, and still have to run the recovery serum from p2w on cooldown when i'm doing missions. I know it'll get better with incarnates but that's a ways away still. IMO if you hate endurance issues you should try out rad armor. I personally think claws is the best scrapper set there is, but you can pick literally any set to go with it, and it will be fine. Even the super endurance hungry sets are fine with rad. On rad armor you essentially ignore defense, build for recharge, and resists, and use your absorb shield as much as possible, and that's how you survive. It's pretty active and fun. If you're set on a defense based set I'd look to stone armor, its a little ugly, but if you find a nice concept it can work. again pick almost any attack set you want and it should work fine, stone has some built in endurance recovery as well. I can't think of an attack set that wouldn't work well with stone, but the almost comes from like if you chose elec melee, it's kinda a stinker set on scrappers so you probably won't have as much fun with it as other sets. Energy Aura would be my 2nd choice for a defense set leveling up solo and without help. Both SR and Shield are tougher to level IMO if you don't have INF to pour into them. New axe is very fun, and i highly recommend playing it, but its super end hungry, and wants a lot of recharge to perform well, so you'll want to find an armor set that compliments that. /rad, /stone, /NRG, /bio I think has some end recovery, /willpower, and kind of /electric, its a tough set to level with, doesn't get strong till built out IMO. Willpower is very set it and forget it, you turn your toggles on and thats it. either you survive or dont. and it has a mix of res/defense. IDK i have a 50 claws/wp and it was fun to level up, but i lost interest in it at 50. And I would say bio has a slightly tougher learning curve than the others maybe. It's also an active set like /rad, where you use your absorbs and heals to keep alive, but it also has 3 stances most of the time as a scrapper you'll either be in damage (which makes you take more damage) or endurance stance, but this could also help you out, since you don't like endurance problems while leveling. Its also butt ugly. People like to shit on staff, and its' true it's not a top performer, but its quite fun to use, it does lots of little numbers fast, not very good in the big hitter department compared to other sets, but it does have sky splitter which will give you some of those big crunchy hits. . But if you like the quick play and look of the animations its solid especially for a solo toon who hates end issues, as one of the stances helps with endurance recovery. And keep in mind no attack set is so bad it's unusable. There are plenty of 50's of every attack, and they do just fine running TF's and group content, and soloing. The min/maxers in this game go hard, and will declare something unplayable garbage because its not #1 in whatever random ass ranking they decided to use to determine what's #1. I noticed you mentioned MA, it's fun i have an ma/rad brute, and an ma/shield scrapper both are fun, but again shield eats your blue bar prepare to use recovery serum all the time. and MA will work well with any of the other secondary sets i mentioned above. MA is a little end hungry as well because you attack so often with it. lots of quick strikes with short cooldowns. I mean you could run ma/Wp, no clicks to worry about in the secondary (other than the self rez, if and when you would need it) and the t9. and it has built in recovery help. IDK thats a lot of rambling but hopefully it helped some.
  5. Stalkers are great, and always welcome on a team, except maybe for the people that only run at +0/-1 where even bosses die in the initial AOE wave from everyone else. And it's not that they aren't welcome on those teams, just their large single target damage isn't as useful on those teams that only run everything on ez-mode. Spines, Staff, and Elec Melee all seem to have quite a bit of AoE still in them with stalkers, so that will help with the minion clearing. Ice armor, dark armor, have soft control to help lock things down. Shield defense has an AoE knockdown, and a team buff, but its very END intensive to run Shield Defense, so be prepared to mitigate that through hoarding blue insp, p2w recovery power, or IO's to grand end (or all 3). I ran a manticore the other night and we had a stalker who was just deleting paragon protectors, that was very, very helpful to the speed of the run, cause when they can't get a MoG off and become impossible to kill, thats a great team mate putting in that work. Also a lot of TF's have AV's at the end, great ST damage is always wanted in those situations, and stalkers bring a ton of that.
  6. both are already in game, but i doubt the devs will ever give it to me claws/shield defense scrapper! and a totally new powerset, elemental summoning mastermind.. think a magician from EverQuest, earth, air, fire, and water pets & attacks. I could see it going something like earth pet being the solo high lvl pet, maybe 2 water pets for the support tier using bubbles to protect their allies (could go lazy and just rename the FF bubbles robots get to be more themed, or do something new and unique , don't matter to me), and a mix of fire/air for the 1st lvl damaging tier.
  7. I think a scrapper or stalker or a sentinel too. All 3 of these can easily chase down and dispose of minions who were feared away from the main fight, and just need cleaning up, or a tough boss/EB that's hung around for a bit too long. a mastermind and corruptor could do this as well, but they also bring support for the rest of the group through their secondaries so might not be the best character to have hanging back behind people with. and blasters are often quite valuable for the inital strike to clear out most of the minions and lts.
  8. My current favorite character The Clockwork Rat - Click, clack, attack!
  9. minFX on rad armor powers. and spines long forearm claw, ported over as an option for claws graphic. Currently there are none that look even remotely natural.
  10. Yeah that was always the bummer part of sewers you reach a point where everything is grey so you just bumrush past to the KR exit, go train and start radios with your team to protect a bank, and get your jetpack. I do seem to remember there was a way to go to keep the grind going but most people never wanted to.
  11. I'd say is /regen a poor set depends on what you want to do with the character. Well over 90% of the content in this game is piss easy, that can be solo'd with terrible power picks, no slotting, and half drunk. /Regen is just as fine for that content as any other set. There's also the masochist content, where people take a shit set, and see just how far they can push it, by pouring a billion INF into it. And in that case, /regen is one of the best sets, because it's got more weaknesses than most other sets, and so it can actually be a fun challenge to push a strong build out of. I don't personally have experience with a top end t4 billion+ inf /regen build, but my instinct says it's less than ideal for that 4*, hard content. Maybe I'm wrong on that though. But /regen is fine for general play, and even for a solo run, I've ran a few of them, brute, sent, scrapper I think. They do ok. I even end up tanking some random TF's on my /regen brute from time to time, and he does okay. You just need to learn to play in it's limits. Alot of melee like to just jump into the pack soak the alpha and lay waste, that is not regens strong suit, and that's a good way to use your rez power a lot. While solo you're going to be doing a lot of corner pulling to negate some of that initial alpha damage, so it comes in smaller waves instead of all at once. But groups won't wait arond for that, so my strategy for that is just hope some of your group members also have rez, and be ready eat some dirt from time to time. I actually have more fun successfully tanking TF's on my /regen brute and basic build fire/ tank than on my indestructable shield and rad and what nots. Another reason why i love elec armor, the most bummer thing to me in game is endurance sapping, I'd rather take dmg to my green bar than to my blue bar anyday.
  12. I'll adjust my build and see where I end up. Thanks!
  13. I do general pug content TFs, MSRs, stuff like that I don't ever go into the hard modes really so thats not what i'm after. My goal on this build was to pump up resists and recharge as high as I could, but i'm only capped to toxic resist and didn't quite get permahaste. I'm still not quite 50, but i do have a lot of these sets to slot when i get there to see how it actually plays. I messed with Cobra instead of eagle while leveling and prefer eagle claw. And the mu's fits the theme of the character, so don't want to change to soul. Just feels like with so much money invested in this build i ahven't even hit any of my goals , so not sure where i went wrong. possibly chasing too much psi resist instead of getting more energy & s/l resist insteaed? IDK lmk what you think. Thank you This Villain build was built using Mids Reborn 3.4.6 https://github.com/LoadedCamel/MidsReborn Click this DataLink to open the build! 14. I have a fire/stone i've been leveling up here and there, and so far it's pretty fun. haven't messed with mids to make a build and just slotting w/e random stuff is in my guild bank. but it sure feels like its a good combo.
  15. I have a claws/ninjitsu that's very fun and nin is not commonly played IMO. Lets you go with a natural or tech origin if you want, has some fun powers and you can make like a classic ninja, or like a slightly armored more techy kinda ninja. pretty fun combo IMO.
  16. I have quit a few TFs when the leader refuses to lower difficulty and our team clearly cant handle it. When its taking half an hour just to clear the 1st mission of posi 1 because it's all fresh lvl 8s and the leader insists on doing it at +4.. well then good luck with that.
  17. If the team is struggling it's time to drop the difficulty. Too many pug leaders think everything must be run at +4 no matter what.
  18. Axe / dark armor. Choose whatever pools you want doesnt matter cause you're not going to have any end to run them.
  19. Dark Armor / staff is extremely fun. Staff helps mitigate da endurance problems. Staff has a couple knock downs, dark has CCS, staff has a fun fluid attack chains.
  20. Claws IMO.
  21. Demons from mastermind and regen from brute. Regen to keep me healthy, and able to recover fast, and demons to have a swarm of demons I can summon to do my bidding. And if they die I just summon more! But what I'd really like is teleport travel power. Fully maxed out and have the endurance required for using it obviously.
  22. Dark / controller will do the cc and debuffing you're looking for. Elec, cold, thermal will do the buffing. I really enjoy having an /elec on my teams. But yeah sounds like a controller best suits your play style Now that I think of it in going to roll a dark/elec controller today when I get home.
  23. I had someone whine at me that I attacked the wrong tentacle on lusca, when i was brute leading the charge. Apparently they have super special tentacle order. Some people need to get a life.
  24. Gw2 is solo friendly, and pretty easy. You need to learn to use the siege system and breaker bars though for you will struggle. Other than that you can for the most part just face roll the keyboard and win, beacause like coh, it doesnt require perfect rotations of max dps for 99% of the content. It's very munge friendly.
  25. Elec / shield is very popular but many prefer it on a stalker for a more well rounded elec experience. They get to replace some of elects worst powers with stalker only powers which is nice. Either way shield charge is great fun.
