My stone/spines is done! :D Now I want a rad/something
Gobbledigook replied to I-Dirty's topic in Tanker
SS, Rad, Energy or elec melee would get my vote. -
A well built Dark shouldn't have much trouble with endurance with ageless and a theft of essence proc in Dregeneration. They are fairly similar. Rad you need to move about more to give your heals time when getting overwhelmed and Dark just stands there and hopefully the heal is up quick enough. But that is more extreme content. Martial arts would add to Darks Cloak of Darkness defence quite nicely. Dark has an aura and Rad has an AoE nuke. Rads nuke is good for jumping into a group and unleashing that extra AoE but its slow to use. Rad will be easier at lower levels due to better endurance management. Dark Obliteration or one of the other AoE powers in the epic pools will help MA with some extra AoE. Both are good choices.

I still prefer my Rad armor (or dark armor) even though Shield is better 99% of the time. Some content really tests Rad Armor which gives some fun moments of trying to stay alive whilst taking the mobs out. More exciting than Shield in my opinion. But each to their own 🙂
-
I have both a RadA and a DarkA Tanker. They are similar with Dark being more survivable in some situations. But -heal debuffs will hurt DarkA more than the RadA. Rad armor is tough, Dark is tougher most of the time, but Shield and invuln are much tougher. MY vote for the best Tanker primary would have to go to Shield defence. Exceptionally tough and brings added damage. A DDR nerf to it (1 stack only) would bring it more in line and it would still be exceptionally good. So thumbs up to that.

Mace is more straight forward without a combo system and would look better with a shield in my opinion. But either are good.

The most unkillable tank (besides stone) would be...?
Gobbledigook replied to 00Troy00's topic in Tanker
Invul/Staff probably. Incarnate capped defences (with 10+ mobs) and capped resists. Shield is good also. Maybe shield/dark. -
Primary for Radiation Armor (giving durability priority)
Gobbledigook replied to Bastille Boy's topic in Brute
I would go for sets with an AoE crowd control like knockdown. Kill them before they kill you and limit them fighting back. -
Definitely a game full of old farts......52 here, although most people say about 29 lol.

Fire/SS, or: How to solo a +4/x8 ITF without softcapped def
Gobbledigook replied to Miss Magical's topic in Tanker
A second stack of the Tankers might proc would cap those differences though. So personally i wouldn't chase more resists there, let the proc do it. -

Fire/SS, or: How to solo a +4/x8 ITF without softcapped def
Gobbledigook replied to Miss Magical's topic in Tanker
It could do with a bit more Knockback resist in that build @Obus Form. I couldn't skip fiery Embrace either. A force Feedback in Footstomp will probably offer far more than a small amount of psi resist. Otherwise looks sturdy. -
I was surprised to get Natural Remedy for a heal/support type. Not actually used it yet so if anyone did really want it, let me know and why you should get it. Also i recently got Jammy Dodger lol if anyone wanted that also. Excelsior.

I can see you have thought about this a lot. I like the idea, but....... you have spelled Toes in 2 different ways lol, typo? Nice ideas though 🙂

If only you could Strum a guitar or sing an actual note lol. Would be pretty amazing. Especially if you could actually play a tune with the correct rotation 🙂 Hawkwinds Sonic Attack 🙂

A major proc rework would just create a massive headache of respeccing all my characters. That does not sound like fun to me and that is why i am in this game...to have fun. If i can damage cap an attack with 3 slots then i am going to fill the rest with procs, unless i need that set bonus. There are endless ways to build a character. Filling any weakness with set bonuses or procs. If you choose to not use procs then that is your choice, they are available to everyone and can greatly enhance a character just like set bonuses. Actually maybe set bonuses need looking at lol. There seems to be way more ways of getting S/L and Fire/Cold resistances than Energy/NE resists benefitting some builds more than others. Haha There may be a few procs that need a buff/nerf though. There may also be a few powers that can abuse procs a little too much that may need looking at. But the majority are fine.
-
Changing Procs would break so many builds and upset a fair few players, if not done well i reckon. Sentinels for example have some of their best attacks available to them in the epic pool fully procced out. Big change no, small tweaks ok imo, unless there is some grand plan we don't know about. Maybe just reduce the damage etc of the procs a little. But i've never seen the problem with them. To use them you are missing out on some set bonuses anyway.
-
Staff would work well with WP for a survival build. The extra +13% resistances and the melee defence staff offers in Body Mastery can help a lot. Ageless Radial for debuff resistance (DDR) to your defence and endo management with +recharge would work well. Barrier and Rebirth Radial also. There are a few choices with the alpha slot that will work well. You decide which based on build. Agility, cardiac, spiritual, musculature for example.

I don't know why but it seems to be double posting now sorry.

I do like it when the squishies (blasters usually) decide to do their own thing and start pulling the mobs themselves in random directions, creating mayhem, thinking they are amazing......until they start dying whilst i am off rounding mobs up to pulverise. It is not long before the " this Tank is crap omg" comments start lol. I just laugh as they are on the other side of the map lol. I follow no one unless agreed to do so earlier. I fear no one.... I am a Tank!. If they don't explain their tactics or refuse to follow the Tank then that is their fault and no amount of Taunts will save those numpties 😛

39 tankers of varying levels.

If they could do the sort of rework energy melee got i would be happy for them to rework SS and rage. EM surpasses most, if not all other sets since the rework. EM may not be heavy in AoE but it isn't that bad really. Some other sets are not much better and even worse. Hard to deny Em's single target damage and lower end cost and stuns. They could just take the easy route and only allow Rage one stack. Fix Jabs Dpa. Do something with Hurl....a long cone or a targeted AoE could work. They could also turn Rage into a 2 minute buff that tiers down similar to how the Incarnate Destiny powers work. A big buff for 10-20 seconds then slowly starts weakening after 30secs and then 1 minute etc. Rename it adrenalin rush or something else maybe also.

It looks like it is gonna be a split decision. Neither is wrong. So i would choose it depending on your build as @oysterhead said. Nice to have but easy to skip. I think there are a few Tanker with a view to skipping it like @Infinitum More than once a player has been abusive because one of my many Tankers didn't have taunt and they died because they strayed off aggroing 20+ mobs lol. Luckily we Tankers have thick skins. 😛
-
Yes you can. Though you may get flack from some players who do not understand that and aggro caps etc. They die and you or the healer will get the blame lol. It is nice to have don't get me wrong but it isn't necessary imo, especially if you have plenty of AoE. Just don't be one of them Tankers that just stands there Taunting, boring as hell lol.
-
If SR can do that then Shield can also. I know i have tried it in the Dark Warshade ambush and they could not bring it down. if you were at 90% health then you had less resists than a Shield Tanker so it goes to say that they can do it also. Just put active defence on auto. Shield has Active defence, against all odds, phalanx fighting and grant cover that are all one slot skills. Leaving 3 defence skills and one attack skill to slot really. SR does not have an advantage in slots they are fairly equal imo. They are equal on endurance also.
