  1. Energy blast seems the most obvious choice, but radiation blast could also work.
  2. But in their own evaluation, they'd rather forego taking fly over taking boxing or kick/tough/weave, so I guess it isn't that important to them... But they still value tough & weave enough to take them, so why not change that valuation instead of trying to rewrite the power pool? Why is the onus on the game/devs/everyone else to accommodate them, instead of them adjusting their builds? And back before fitness was made inherent, people often picked ONLY hurdle or swift, not both. Making "natural builds" was also a thing, where people only took hurdle & cj as their travel power. Even discounting that, the aspect of fitness that people really chased after was stamina, as there was really no other way of increasing your end recovery, and that is something impacting every character.
  3. Most ATs that don't normally have access to holds can get them in their APPs/PPPs, and those can be recolored, so just go with something sufficiently bright...
  4. I don't think it's necessarily forbidden, but IMHO, it's bad taste to promote other artists, either without their consent, or without that of the devs/GMs/mods... To add: Many people in this thread have linked the artist(s) they've used, so maybe start with those?
  5. Combat jumping and weave provide somewhat similar buffs, save for CJ's added jump height/speed. If you were to revamp the order of the powers, what kind of resulting defense buff would this version of weave grant, and would people be willing to pay that price. There really isn't any non-APP/PPP equivalent for tough, though, so that'd be a harder pitch to make...
  6. I could go with a compromise, for instance, maybe from level 35, (41 maybe), and above, you can opt to get 3 more slots instead of taking another power, since by that point, some characters are "finished" with their powers, but more slots would be more helpful.
  7. Having a hump on your back makes drawing straight lines difficult, (especially if it keeps switching sides)... Now, walk THIS way!
  8. You do know that they're turning it into a solar farm, don't you? Ironic...
  9. I think the old adage was "Name, costume, powers, pick one" - if you had 2 or more, you'd get generic'd...
  10. Then it is a failure on your part to not express all the points you wanted to make. I'm not psychic. Not my fault you can't articulate your points coherently. Either way, I'm dipping out of this conversation. I like savage melee just fine, and have no problems maximizing the aspects of any set I want to play. If you can't do so, then the problem does not lie with the set. You aren't going to get a 20% rech and 30% end redux buff global buff without having to "pay for it" in some way...
  11. So 1 attack out of an entire set. Riiiight. Do you mean the 1 attack from broadsword and katana? Again, 1 attack does not make a set, and let's not forget the lockout from rage or the need to complete a combo in DB to maximize the buff. And savage can slot plenty of procs as well, but that's not what we're talking about, here. Don't muddy the waters. 1 power. Few and far between. It's only "really dumb" if you are unable to unwilling to work within the way the set functions. If it's too difficult for you, the good news is there are plenty of other options for you to play.
  12. Which is a CHOICE you, the player, can make whether to use or not. Use them? Lose the buff. Don't use them, keep it. Easy as. Give me a specific example of another set's mitigation that you believe to be better than a global 20% recharge & 30% end redux buff. Even then, just play those other sets, then...
  13. The buff doesn't "need" to be there, either, and if you don't consider a 20% recharge buff and a 30% end cost reduction to be good without needing to pick up any other powers, then I don't know what to tell you...
  14. Having the OPTION to consume or not consume the stacks is NOT a limitation. If you want the stacks, gear your play around that. If you want the bonus effect from consuming them, then tailor your play accordingly. Not being able to eat your cake and have it is only an issue if you think you should get all the bonuses with no tradeoff. Just slot for recharge and end redux if you want that without having to put any effort in. As is the case for other melee sets, so savage melee is not unique in this regard.
  15. I usually don't add slots to my travel powers, so throwing a Microfilament in there, if I can get my hands on one, is nice. I similarly tend not to add slots to darkest night, so an enzyme gives you a nice 1-2 punch with its end cost reduction while buffing tohit debuffs. Another standout is slotting 3 nucleolus HOs in your MM pets if you aren't going for a full IO set.
  16. You're missing the point - I am making a conscious decision to retain the stacks instead of consuming them for the added effect. Someone else may make the opposite valuation. The ability to do both is great! Learning to modify your play to utilize the effect in a way that best suits YOUR play style is key. For me, it's more like 16-20% recharge. Consider that's the same recharge buff as a dedicated power like SR's quickness, but without needing to dedicate a power pick, and that's not counting the additional end reduction - practically an SO's worth in EVERY power. That is a tremendous advantage requiring no other investment. You bet it's worthy of some downside! There's a knockdown, a slow, and not every melee set has other mitigation abilities, either, (fire melee for instance), means that the set is just fine. Heck, it even has an AoE gap-closer/teleport with a relatively short cooldown. If I could level any complaint against savage melee, it's the lack of an attack that deals hard-hitting up-front damage instead of a DoT.
  17. Then we have vastly different experiences, because my savage melee characters routinely have to use other attacks or hold off for a few moments for a stack to drop, because I am at 5 stacks more often than not, and prefer having them than consuming them and getting locked out. Maybe change up your approach a bit? Each stack is about a 4% recharge buff and a 6% endurance reduction buff - that's a tremendous buff across the board!
  18. How about a classic John Woo/Matrix styled character, and go with dual pistols/martial combat?
  19. I think it was in the RIFTS: Japan sourcebook, where they had various factions of Ninja - those that were simply highly trained, but otherwise normal, those that used mystical arts/magic/psionics, and those that utilized cybernetics, chemical augmentation, and powered armor, to all achieve similar results - gave each an interesting "flavor" and outlook...
  20. Are you requesting an equine head option or just a singular head-horn? We do have a rhino horn, but oddly not a single unicorn one...
  21. Sure it did - some people use it as a bad word, so it gets blocked. It isn't about how you or your child use the word - it's about providing a broad protection against offensive uses of it. If you feel your child is mature enough to understand how it can also be used in the an offensive manner, (and how to avoid doing so themselves), then by all means disable the filter and carry on with your gameplay.
