I will admit that I was a bit disappointed when ED was introduced, and the subsequent invention system added, as it made the comfortable game I enjoyed unduly complicated and, consequently, less entertaining for me. Do I understand that it was done to nerf the powers of players so that progression would be slower and, therefore, NCSoft was able to draw more income from renewed subscriptions without having to pay Cryptic for actual new content? Of course. Do I use it? Not unless it fits with the character's theme; so, no, not very often. Are my alts among the most powerful in the game? Usually only when posing for a group selfie. Do I love City of Heroes? You Betchya!

Share your Puns/amusing Character Names
Captain Valiant replied to Venture's topic in General Discussion
My new Marine Affinity / Water Blast Defender. Kinda obvious, I know. (Edited to correct a typo in the character info.) -
Well, I suppose one -could- always up the team size in Notoriety that I must have somehow activated and see if that works (?) 🙂

I went in just now and tried a fresh radio mission in PI without changing anything, and this is what I saw. So I logged back to the character choice screen to exit and then came back into the game, set my Notoriety to -1 and team size to 1 and found only two opponents standing there. I did the same on a different character and had the same result. Thanks! Thanks for clearing this up. I've made a mental note in case it happens again.

When I solo radio missions (so far tested on 7 different characters), I get double the normal number of mobs. I have set my difficulty to -1, as well as transferring (one character) to a different server, to see if either of those things will remedy the situation. They have not.

All the Devs have to do if they don't want @Snarky participating in certain threads is add a garlic emote to the list of possible replies. You're welcome.

Grace period for Early Bird badge?
Captain Valiant replied to WhiteNightingale's topic in Help & Support
Your friend doesn't need to display the badge, or any of the ones they may randomly pick up. There's an option in Menu/Badge that allows one to display any earned badge, or "Clear Badge Title" (at the bottom) to display none at all. The badge will still appear on their badge list, however, and can be selected at a later date. -
HC needs to develop a policy on memorials.

Or, perhaps, "life sized" posters in the form of a screenshot of the honouree(s) in a gallery-like setting, say, along the walls of Echo Plaza; or even a gallery in its own zone that is accessible by tram? Just thoughts. -

Glowie Location for Deaf/Hard of hearing
Captain Valiant replied to hyflite's topic in Help & Support
A very good idea, Nerio72! May I further suggest that hyflite find a suitable frequency audio file and forward it to the person making the actual mod? It would seem a more efficient route than using a trial-and-error method. -
Glowie Location for Deaf/Hard of hearing
Captain Valiant replied to hyflite's topic in Help & Support
I have noticed that, if all mobs are defeated and a glowie remains unclicked, said glowie will appear on the mission map. I have no idea if this happens all the time, but it does happen. I hope that helps. -
Firstly, welcome back. I am also very happy with how player-friendly Homecoming is. While I know of no method ingame to check server population, one does have the option of minimising the game and opening the first page of the forums where, in the upper right corner, a population list appears. I know it's not what you'd prefer, but it's there. EDIT: Dang your speedy typing skills @GM Crumpet!!!

I'd like to see the /flypose # emotes being chooseable at the tailor to be hardwired into the power similar to various "blast or cast" ranged powers already in the game.

Character timeouts and military service.
Captain Valiant replied to TheHeyzoose's topic in Help & Support
Anyone with your password (like your wife) can sign your character in every so often to start the timer again. Be safe. -
I'm not suggesting that their locations be changed, but that they be put on a personal timer like the Hallowe'en doors for reclicking purposes. I've always found the winter event boxes frustrating if I wanted to gather a bunch of them and was a minute behind someone else who'd already clicked. It's not game-breaking; just, as I said, a nuisance.
-
I am concerned that these might bring undue competition to what is meant to be an enjoyable event. I would like to suggest, if there's still time to do the coding, that they be put on personal timers like the knockable doors during the Hallowe'en event. EDIT: My Mistake!!!!! I -meant- to call them "Time Capsules" in the title; which I thought I was unable to edit. My apologies!

I couldn't see Tequila listed in the windows uninstall section, but I did delete the game folder. Thanks. To clarify: I deleted the -Tequila- game files; having installed the HC Launcher in a different location, and having a duplicate copy of the game, some time ago.
