  2. Hi all, i'm trying to figure out how to build a proper Controller. I was testing this build today on the test server and was thinking it could be a good addition to teams. I will be playing it mostly with league members and am more confident in building melee alts so far. It would be really cool if you could help me improve this build. Maybe i am missing something very important. Also i have no idea about the best incarnate options for aa grav/kin. I had not a special build goal in mind, just trying to get as survivable as possible, because /kin does not offer much mittigation tools. I just went away with one slot for Dimension Shift and Wormhole, because these seemed to be like situational powers at best. I would really appreciate some feedback. 3. I copied the build of @M3z he has cool chanel running on YouTube. You can checkout his fire farm videos, the cheap build is linked in one of them. But it is Spine/Fire ......
  4. Oh, i can hear allready the masterminds cry about their pylon damage timers.😂
  5. Energy Melee was a PvP powerhouse back in the day. I remember my EM/Nin Stalker running around and killing everything but tanker in Recluses Victory. You could AS->Energy Transfer->Total Focus. That was 3 hard hitting abilities and ET had a amazingly short animation time. Also a lot of Archetypes were disoriented and did not have that much life anyway. Then i had Moonbeam for the ones that ran away with little to no life. Nostalgia.... But then the nerf came and ET got such a long animation time, that it was basically useless. Today it is even worse, because ET can not crit. Even out of hide. So basically you are looking at a primary without ANY area damage and two attacks that have a very long animation time which one of can not even crit. The only thing it has going is the glowing pompons and sound effects that stimulate my nostalgic memory....
  6. What is with the exploration Badge on top of the ship that can only be obtained during a raid? Are we supposed to get it fron the trial also or only from 'the real raid'?
  7. I would like to know, why do we need a crash at all? At least it should be only debuffing damage or survivability and not BOTH. since you are going to make the tanker changes, it could debuff damage on tankers but don't debuff def/res. For brutes it could be the other way round debuff res/def but still do damage. That way you could also catch the ATs flavor, at least a little bit more. And if i think of Superstrenght Comic heroes i think of Superman and Hulk. Superman could get the tanker rage crash and Hulk could get the brute rage crash. The Superstrenght Powerset ist taken mostly on toons that don't go mad on dps or pylon testings. The ones that get SS mostly love footstomp and knockout blow. Beeing able to deal massive damage in one blow or totaly juggle the enemys is what defines Superstrength. And the lot's of players that go this route don't want to keep track of things going like Street Justice or Savage Melees Combo System. These players don't want to keep track of 4-5 click powers and their cooldowns. If you look at the FotM report, the Single most Dominant combinations are SS/Inv and SS/WP. These people, like me, have a casual aproach on the Powerset. Invulnerability and Willpower are good performing Powersets for a laid back aproach to the game. You take it because you don't care about min/max stuff. You take it to get the big global recharges and have a full rotation on knockout blow, haymaker and footstomp while you giggling wait for the double stack of rage. If i would be crazy on dps charts, i would probably go with titan/bio. In this thread have been some good suggestions. I would like to make mine too: What if you would make rage not be effected by recharge or global recharge and make it a power that has 60 Seconds duration and 60 seconds cooldown (at this point you could also make it a toggle). If you click rage you start with 12? Or 10? stacks of rage, that means in battle you did get really pissed and now you are angry. Now you get the biggest bonus. You now start to loose stacks every few seconds until you reach 0 stacks and loose all benefits of rage. This means after your hefty big enrage you get tired the more the fight goes on. Without a rage crash or the afforementioned one sided rage crash, you could now tweak the bonus of each stack to balance it out for gameplay purposes. The funny thing is, that people now still can go crazy with the global recharge reduction, to squeze as many attacks into high rage stacks as possible. Or simply not care and just go rage->knockout blow->smile. That way you can get in line with the casual playerbase and also give the super munchkins some room. You could also go the other way round and start with zero stacks and get every few seconds a new stack, maybe if you hit something with your SS powers? Until you reach 60 seconds and get the (no, mildly) crash. Here you could also give room for players to get into the high recharge game to get to high stacks as possible or simply not care that much. And please excuse me for my bad writing, as english is not my native language.

    BS vs NB vs DB

I would go with BS/SR and later get Moonbeam from Soul Patron Powerpool. That way you will become a Bosskiller machine. NB is similar to BS but i like BS more, because you can control your crits as a Stalker. Dualblades have this combo thing going, which i don't like and BS gets Parry early on, which can be sloted with defense. You would get the best results with SR instead of WP, because you start with good defenses allready. Get Combat Jumping and haste early on and you will feel very strong even without full IO sets. WP on Stalker feels lackluster, because it gets good very very late in the game with a lot of IO sets.
  9. Ok, i went to justin and throw down a Fire/Devices/Fire Blaster right now, to be honest i copied parts from other builds out of this forum. i was thinking with the snipe changes having the targeting drone going should net me the highest numbers from the snipe. The fire animations and the flow of the powerset feels quite good. i skiped every melee power because i want a ranged toon. and i think i hate the ranged cones now more than i hated the melee cones. just not using firebreath i guess. Maybe i am going to take a melee power to slot some good set? Fire Blast seems to be what i wanted. really happy about how powerfull it turned out to be. What do you think about the build? (i could not craft the incarnates because it is disabled right now) Fire Device Fire Blaster.mxd
  10. Hmm... If the Numbers for Snipes are not displayed right, is it possible for other snipes on other sets to have a higher number? And btw. guys i like how good the talk is going on here.
  11. Well i was asking for hard hitting attacks. I was thinking fire has only more damage because of the dot. Ice has bigger numbers or hasn't it?
  12. That is unpleasent news. I wanted to do a ranged alt for a new experience. Beeing firced to play a Blaster in melee does not sound right. I am not trying to do that. I just want the biggest numbers on a blast set. The advantage of shooting from a big range and the ability to change from one target to the other comes with a price, i guess. So @HelenCarnate and @Vanden both vote for ice? I was not expecting that. I will take a close look on Ice Blast. Anyone got another recommendation?
  13. ...dps. I have played some melee AT so far and allways liked the ones with BIG NUMBERS. Like Super Strength -> Knockout Blow with double stacked rage. Or Broadsword on a Stalker. Yoe see? BIG ORANGE NUMBERS over the head of the enemys. Possibly doing so much overkill on a minion that it is hillariously wasted. I don't care much about the total dps or in what time you can take down pylons or solo taskforces with it. So what Blast Set would suit this job the best?
  14. I am not a PVP expert but this combination sounds not so strong for PVP. EM has some super long animations which could get you killed in a pvp meta where everyone is jumping around like squirrels on crack. Also a purely defense based build could suffer from the hefty +to hit buffs everyone effordlessly gets. But YMMV as allways...
  15. I like my Demon/Thermal a lot. I play him as pure support build. On Support builds i like to have a rez and vengeance. If i don't have to heal i can debuff the enemys and buff my allies even more with forge and thaw for the ones without mez protection. It is a really fun set and the fire theme goes well with the demons. Obviously the resistance buff synergizes also pretty well.

    footstomp

You should allways slot Force Feedback proc for recharge into footstomp.
  17. Placate has his uses but is a highly skipable Power. If you play PVP i would recommend it, but for PVE there are allways something else that would fit better. Con: Long animation time Can not mule sets The ATO does something similar Pro: It will save your ass if you take on a AV which was too much for you It is godsend for PVP If you don't have the ATO during leveling it will be very usefull It is a 'one slot wonder'. Just put a recharge reduction in there and you are done.
  18. Speaking of bad ports. Willpower is one of the best secondaries on other melees. But not on Stalker. They took away Quick Recovery and replaced rise to the challenge with a click heal. People tend to pick willpower so they don't have to worry about using any power other than attacking. But yet there are 186 people loving WP.....
  19. The FotM by @Cipher shows us some interesting facts about Stalker Secondaries. We can see the Defense based Secondaries to be more popular than the resist based powersets. I am a big fan of defense build stalkers, so it is a welcome observation. The hybrid sets are more tend to be in the middle. There are some exceptions to it like Bio beeing on top 3 and ice beeing underrepresented for a defense based set. And i also am surprised to see Energy Aura beeing played that much. What are you guys thinking about this statistics? Here is the Link to the other AT and all
  20. Here is something i created for Stalkers. I think you can get a good idea for brutes too if you don't look close to the numbers.
  21. Here i asked a league friend for his fire/ice brute. maybe you can pick up some of his ideas. he is pretty much unkillable and dishes out enormous damage. 24. Now that i had time for it, i took the BS/EA build from @M3z and first turned it to Psi/EA, which was the easy part. The harder part was to turn it to a Psi/Bio after wards.
