  1. Thanks @QueenBethari! She really liked it as well. That's not the only time I drew War Witch, I did a digital painting two years later. I can go find it quick but in the mean time I mentioned doing art trades in another post so here is an example of a trade I did with PepRally. My half of the art trade was to draw his eponymous character, a super powered cheerleader with Super (splits?) Jumping travel powers and this was the drawing I got back of Shieldara my Martial Arts/Shield scrapper.
  2. That came out great @Moka. Oh and welcome to the best part of the forums! Do you happen to have a link to his DA or website and is he open for commissions at the moment? Inquiring minds want to know.
  3. "............................... She nailed our characters perfectly. I don't see any problem here." I cannot tell from plain text whether these remarks are intended to be callous or just nonsensical. Care to explain further?
  4. Here is yet another piece I got from Wernope, this time of my Illusion/Empathy goddess Xllusya. Again I will let the artz speak for itself.
  5. He knows Kung-Fu... just bear-ly though.
  6. Next up, here is a bust of former lead developer (and one of my favorite devs) Melissa Bianco's hero War Witch... which(heh) I drew for her birthday. Which(heh) I then added softbrushing and tint to. With 2 witches from which to choose it's tough to say which witch is the best witch with which to go with. ...Wiiiiitch
  7. Oh right, they are fair skinned and burn easily. Hah! Good one.
  8. I will see about giving one of those things a try.
  9. Glad to hear about your followup going well. Way too many hand injuries happening of late.
  10. Isn't that the way of it. I've had times where I spent hours working on a thing and then a last minute quick sketch I throw in as an afterthought is what resonates the most. I'll tell you a secret though, you still learn from those long hours, even if it's just muscle memory so you still come out ahead just by doing. Artist's win when they are arting. Definitely do not add an f to the last word of that sentence... I mean it now, don't even think about it.
  11. Indeed, good on you Biostem for giving credit where credit is due. Though I didn't name names the first two paragraphs above were for Biostem (as that Rikti Raid pic immediately caught my attention) and the third was for Struck. Oh and welcome to the best part of the forums @Struck way to start out strong.
  12. Hey thanks Doug (so glad you're not dead ) I do like to mix and match stuff. Glad you like the results.
  13. @biostem I started in at i2 and missed the initial invasion so thanks for posting that shot of the Mothership in the sky, very cool. Lol I think everyone has tried to ape at least one signature hero at some point. You pretty much nailed it here except the unique helm which you had no access to. @Struck I, like most, have a ton of images squirreled away. Most are costume shots from pickup groups I played in but there are a few interesting funny ones I am sure I could dig up. I used to use them for "Craption" contests where I would post a silly pic and whoever came up with the funniest caption got artz.
  14. That's pretty good time wise for what you are producing. I find that things either go super fast for me or I get obsessive about details and then it takes forever.
  15. No worries Flash, as the site linked in the OP says it's about consistency and improvement, not perfection. I say just pick any categories that look fun from what's left and skip the rest if you want. If it makes you feel any better I was out by rule three. I'm not hashtaging anything, I only post it here and I am barely doing one a week. It's more of an interesting diversion than anything for me. Oh whoops, hang on a sec, that sounded like empathy and absolution... I meant to say... So Long Suckaaaaaaaaaaah! ...nailed it!
  16. I decided to try something simpler and paired down visually. Also you didn't mention what secondary you wanted so I thought maybe Time Manipulation would be a good fit for someone who habitually spends too much time in the sun and surf. What might that guy look like? I imagine he would get pretty sun burnt but hey maybe that is part of his back story for you to figure out. Two different versions, one has gauntlets that produce the unlimited water he blasts with if you want a sciencey origin or maybe just some fingerless gloves for the weights he lifts on muscle beach (why he is more ripped) and he summons the water magically as long as he spends hours floating in the ocean absorbing it, hence the sunburn. "Time in the Sun," "Surfs Up" or "Surf n' Time" (if you want to hint at his powersets) are some possible names/themes but it's up to you how you want to work it. Surfin Time1.costume Surfin Time2.costume
  17. ***/e Checks BW's temperature*** Gift artz and a collab in the same year... are you sure you're feelin okay there BattleWraith? Kidding aside, woohoo that looks good! I am sure EnnVee (and Queen Bethari) will be thrilled with your stab... the art that is. The negative silhouette bats are a nice touch too.
  18. Since I am their father (apparently) I put pencil to paper while sitting out in a park a few days ago and out popped another... Jr. Dragons in the park?
  19. I rather like the sharpie version myself.
  20. About how long does one of these take on average then if you do not mind my asking?
  21. Wow you've been busy. I'm curious which of these are harder or more time consuming between the simplified and the looser more scribbly?
  22. These are all really good Jon. I'm enjoying how you take complex costume pieces, simplify them in your style and yet they still appear recognizable. Hah, Flex is great. I also really like Multiman and Incrediman Sr. Lol I should've scrolled up to see who DJ1 was referring to since I am not that familiar with these characters. Thematically speaking though Gunfight could be a decent name for a DP/TA, I like Blindsider better though.
  23. It's not a need thing but putting it there let's others know they have permission to tinker. Otherwise if people ask and it sits unanswered for several days they think you don't want anyone touching your stuff and they leave it alone but it could just be you got a cold and were offline for a few days. If you know you are open to having people work on your stuff and you post it there then if you go AWOL (absent with our lineart? ) a few days anyone who gets inspired to do some inking/flatting/coloring/punch up/background etc knows they can jump on in without waiting for your say so. A couple days feels like an eternity for an artist waiting to work on something and inspiration can really wane in the interim or other new projects can come along. Long story short if you draw it with the idea that you want others to work on it putting it in the collab thread as soon as you are done with it is a good idea.
