I started writing this in the middle of the "Let's ungimp Lord Recluse" thread but it doesn't really belong there as that was really about the mechanics of the NPC in combat. This is vaguer, but more, well, more. There is so much potential for Recluse and the Rogue Isles following the return of Red Widow. Pull back troops from Siren's Call. Retake Warburg and Bloody Bay. (Don't take away the PvP versions just copy them as PVE versions and give that option when entering). Initialize a program to "benefit" the citizens of the Etoile Islands. Think Cuba crossed with Latveria. Open a Conuslate in the heart of Paragon having negotiated with the UN. Huge building projects on some of the southern islands (as yet unmapped) to prepare for the Glorious 60th Anniversary of Arachnos Rule in 2024. No, you can't go there yet, but a lot of people are talking about it and there's a lot of ferry work heading in that direction. Longbow? Mainly undercover now since they were ordered to publicly leave the islands by the US government. Scirocco? Gone, but who knows where? Ghost Widow? Not seen much since Marlene returned, possibly brooding, if she remembers how to do that. Mako? Is that a fish? There's something in the water in Kallisti Wharf (Which is where that Consulate would be). Black Scorpion? There's always one...but old BS gets handed over to the UN for "war crimes" as part of that deal. So what did Recluse GET from the deal? And what about the time travelling Arachnos? Recluse himself? No longer seen in Grandville. Daos now occupies the spot he once took. It's a new day for the Democratic Republic of the Etoile Islands. (I think if you want Recluse to be viable again you write him like a real person, and to be honest I've not seen that done since Web of Arachnos.) Recluse himself knows he's not, to use an OOC term, end content anymore. So not seen? Him and Marcus Cole took a trip a long time ago, maybe he's on another one now... Building program? It wasn't just the ACUs, BCUs and so on that were "liberated" from Praetoria. The builder clockwork came too. More toys for Weaver 1 to fiddle with. And Weaver? Oh which Weaver?! By pulling Arachnos back and giving them more actual control, as a government etc, you also remove one of the complaints that many players had, in that they're literally in your face all the time in the Rogue Isles.

I'm going to port my initial post to its own content and see what muck gets stirred up from the bottom of the pond!

I'll go back to writing AEs and work out how the plots might fall in sketch form at least.

So much I agreed with this that I didn't wait and made him an NPC for my AE stuff, giving him offices all over Paragon and the Rogue Isles!

No problem! We're all here to have fun and share the goodies!

Surely it can't be that hard? I mean it's still only Paragon itself and not everywhere. But if there is "Space between the zones", that's an entire slice of plot/story just never used! Refugees, black market deals, smugglers, who knows what?

Oh! You just reminded me! The War Walls! Aesthetically how about actually being able to see part of the actual next door zone through the force shields as opposed to generic buildings etc?

I could just list stuff here all day! (And I should some time just post where I think stuff could go game world-wise, and no, that's not even bothering with "end game" or "itrials" or what have you!) A drive in! An actual suburb! People on bikes/bicycles! Ambulances, the aforementioned firetrucks! Ducks!

The ability to make my toon a bit over weight? I mean why not?

Yep! We've thought about that. There's even precedent with the Invigorate power that only rezzes you in AE so you can't abuse it outside the AE. Being given a "disguise" too, like the temp costume powers for Hallowe'en would be good for an infiltration mish.

I had to make bunches of things. Like Prisoners. You'd think they would exist but no. And lawyers for a law office. And Sailors. And cleaning staff. And...you'd think there would be more, you know, just regular people. You can't have those Loyalists/whoever as the map fillers because there's no way (that I can see) of making them allies. So best set that to empty.

OR...you choose something like Loyalists from the pop down and have lots and lots of patrols, all tagged as allies.

Oh lordy. Well, you basically have to make them.

Recommended! If you want some mystery and to delve sideways into what might have happened then this is the arc for you!

I think it should work everywhere EXCEPT Croatoa. I mean, those guys need a holiday too, yeah?

Also, on the Christie Square side, beyond the park and near the building with the indoor garden (same set up as the one in Atlas Park) you can sometimes see a tide of spirits/ghosts just flow by you and up the street before all disappearing into a door.

In the meantime, if you wander into the building over south of the stadium in Old Slough, the one with the hole in the wall from a glitch, there's a partial door inside buried in the floor. If you click on that it reacts properly for ToT, but then the spawns seem to appear under the map and chase you outside, still firing at you from under the map!

Or a church/temple/mosque? Lots of graveyards though. A court house? Gotta be one of those! Plenty of police, a giant prison, bail bond guys and Chris Jenkins has offices everywhere so... court house? Seat of government? Sure, City Hall. Where's the Mayor? Who's the Mayor?! The DA? Can we have an election? What does Governor Raimondo think of Paragon? Or whoever her CoXverse equivalent is. Firehouse? I only ever see one brave Fire Chief, where's the rest of the Reel and Hose gang? (Apart from Fireman Steve obviously, but him and his gang are special). Where's that Heroes retirement home situated? How about Pinnacle Apartments?

Love it. Meanwhile my Praetorian sits at home wondering where all the cool kids go of an evening.

An actual train station. Like to somewhere else in the country. Or a Greyhound depot. Or an airport?
