  1. I can tell you right now that the Office Flooded Set/Medium/Office - Flooded Set 2 will work for this because I've done this exact thing for the very first mission of my AE series. The ally mission goal is set to none, surrounding enemy group is empty and placement is front. Admittedly you may not WANT a flooded office!
  2. Just pick your map, set size and don't pick random. Set enemy to empty, make sure you have temporary filler text in the five text bars that are essential (not the additional text stuff), give yourself one collectible as an objective and set it to spawn at the back. Then save and test. Just step into the map after accepting the Mish from the contact hologram and when you are inside bring up the mini map as you walk around. This mini map often diverges from the one on the creator outside. So make a note of what's what and so on. To speed things up you can choose "Go to next objective" from architect options and you'll be teleported to the glowie, and you can compare its location to the spawn point on the mini map. And walking the maps can inspire ideas you might not have considered just by choosing one from the drop-down menu. With your choice of an ally, instead of a collectible set add ally, set their appearance to front with no guards, then walk in again. Compare their position to the ally spawn point on the mini map. It's tedious but it can be done.
  3. No. Short answer. Longer answer? It's doable but you need a tiny map and even then it doesn't always work, you have to trial and error each map for spawns. Also do walk the maps as well as just looking at them on the AE creator. The spawn points you see don't always line up and the ones in the actual map space (that you walk in) are the ones that matter.
  4. Fun. And for others, pay attention to the NPC chat, I laughed heartily!
  5. Well I'll need to go through it again but pretty certain I saw "The Matrix" and "War Games" referenced, just to start with.
  6. I'll just leave it as Dark Deeds in Galaxy City: Part One Arc id 26756. The very first part. That's not signifying I think the rest isn't as good, far from it.
  7. I've probably disqualified myself from the Dev Choice by writing From Dark to Darkest I don't think a Dev Choice is supposed to be 45 episodes/missions long. Oh well.
  8. I've had a look at my glowies and actually removed a few! Escort? I've a few of those, mostly across either a small map or a small part of a map, but I think only one fails your test, but I also think it's mitigated by the fact that that is the entire point of that episode. Oh well. Thanks for the feedback!
  9. What do you normally class as a time waster? Personally I despise Defeat All, so you won't find a single one of those in my stuff. Likewise you can usually defeat the boss by only killing the boss and not all their minions too. There's one or two out of the entire 45 episodes that you have to but there's reasons for that, like they may be the only combat encounter for instance. There's definitely a few "scenery" glowies and there's a few "scenery" destructibles, but the latter is because it lets me spawn extra troops over the listed limit. I have one map with about ten spaced out destructibles. There were supposed to be five and all in the front. No matter what I did they spawned literally everywhere, so rather than have a player forlornly searching for five in a largish space and getting frustrated, I doubled the number to keep the action moving. It's a kludgy fix but I haven't figured out a better solution yet.
  10. An alt should start with the default tabs if you need to check.
  11. You've only got a certain amount of bosses per map so you wouldn't use that quota on a scenery mob really. And yes, adding some regen etc would make the rogues last longer. If you want them to last longer.
  12. Yeah but your stuff is worth playing! I mean I was chatting to a friend in team chat the other day while we were waiting for two people to zone in and she asked me how I was getting on with my AE thing. Cue me telling her a little bit until another team member quizzes me about "how many purps does it drop?" and "what's the best diff to max the XP/inf?" And when I said I literally have no idea because that's not what it's about, they said "why the hell are you bothering? Nobody plays for that stupid reason". (Comments made nicer than they actually were). Rather than get into an argument on the internet I just Lebowski'd it. Sigh. Keep writing stories people! Some of us love them!
  13. No panicking civilian mobs, as said above, but I did build custom "civilians' with no powers. Depending on what you do with them they can be fun. If you class them as an enemy they'll follow you around sullenly, unable to do anything apart from disapprove of your presence BUT if they are anywhere near you when you get into a fight with a genuine opponent then tabbing becomes insane as you try to avoid killing the civilians while the enemy happily targets you! You CAN kill them but while you're doing that your enemy is hurting you. If you have them as a patrol and classed as rogue it gets odder since the actual enemies will now also attack them. But no, no fleeing and panicking!
  14. Now here's a thing I do, and maybe some of you already do this but if you don't and you love some story, like myself, then this may help. I keep a floating tab between my target and nav reticule that has NPC dialog and Cutscene captions as channels. I no longer miss any chat in the clutter of the main chat window (it still appears there too because I haven't bothered to remove it from there) and I can especially see NPC chat that might fire off while I'm doing something else and could miss it. Just a suggestion 😉
  15. Thanks! Having read some of your other reviews the simple fact that you played it and enjoyed it is good enough for me!
  16. Oh no criticism of you! Just me stating a fact concerning my experience 🙂
  17. Those are very helpful but unfortunately don't help with that issue.
  18. Thanks also! Used that and it.. mostly... worked. I say mostly because it had the blue wheel circling throughout the playback and some items were missing/invisible, such as character clicking a glowie I know is there but the glowie itself isn't visible. What am I doing wrong here?
  19. So I wrote a mid to high level canon-esque AE. Taking a sort of Supers procedural TV show as inspiration I ended up with three "seasons" comprising 15 episodes each. The story starts with Madame Maven, leader of The Meteors super group (Bullet Streak, Halox Von Horn, Super Charger and The Invincible Axios) calling in the player(s) for some help when Arachnos troops are seen on some covert mission in the ruins of Galaxy City. Dark Deeds in Galaxy City: Part One. (Arc id 26756) Madame Maven of the Meteors asks for your help when two of her team go missing in the ruins of Galaxy City while investigating reported Arachnos sightings there. Dark Deeds in Galaxy City: Part Two. (Arc id 26952) Following the events of Part One, Ghost Widow recruits you to retrieve an item personal to her, while investigating what she says are rogue Arachnos. Dark Deeds in Galaxy City: Part Three. (Arc id 27233) Returning to Paragon from the Rogue Isles, you and the Meteors attempt to thwart the Arachnos faction operating there, but all is not what it seems. Darker Deeds: Part One (Arc id 28374) A surviving prisoner from the Arachnos faction will only speak to you. The Meteors once again ask for your aid, but things go terribly awry and the past comes back to haunt Paragon City. Darker Deeds: Part Two. (Arc id 28536) Following the events of Part One, a new contact approaches you for help, one that is not immediately trustworthy but needs must when friends' lives depend upon it. Darker Deeds: Part Three. (Arc id 29252) Pursuing a slim lead brings you again to the Rogue Isles, and into the depths of modern day Arachnos' machinations. And a terrible plan that even they fear. Darkest Before Dawn: Part One (Arc id 29891) You and the Meteors track the remnants of the Arachnos faction as they become more desperate and more dangerous, and discover you are not alone in this secret war. Darkest Before Dawn: Part Two (Arc id 30210) The faction's plan is put in motion and all of Paragon is in danger. With time running out what can you do except fight until your last? Darkest Before Dawn: Part Three (Arc id 30560) The birds are coming home to roost and old truths and secrets will out, while new secrets threaten the future in ways you had not imagined. So if you fancy a longer story that could pass for mid level canon in a dim light, enjoy! I had a lot of fun writing it. I also had a lot of frustration with the AE tool limits but that's also part of the fun. Update: The Meteors: (Arc id 42079) Ever since you registered as a super with City Hall they've had your contact details if they needed you, though you've been doing fine by yourself so far. Today however, you have a message from an unknown sender on that secure line. Do you want to open it? Prequel to Dark Deeds in Galaxy City: Part One (Arc id 26756)
  20. Yep. It's the half built stadium building in the northern section of Old Slough. My further thought is: was it a proposed mission map? And echoing my earlier query, are there more of them?
  21. As a tangent, how many maps of Kallisti Wharf are hidden in the code? Having taken part in an arena PvP the stadium option drops you right into that section of KW.
  22. Not really missing! Give me a giant Monster spawn I can put on the rooftop! That's all I want.
  23. Not to mention welcoming Remote-Control Man to the ranks of level 50 Gold Siders!
