  1. I have to agree. The sustains make being a Blaster fun. Without them they spent WAY too much time Resting. Which was not fun.
  2. Some said it was meant to and it was removed? IDK. Nearly everyone has access to an Immob, slow or taunt though. And of course the chain aggro would be fun. We are far more powerful in COH than characters were in EQ.
  3. lol yes I personally want it to be harder. Preferably by making the baddies behave in a manner that is more realistic and less mornic. Like with Malta, maybe the Gunslingers would run and get the next group (or two) so the Sappers up ahead could ambush the team. But I don't want to impose my will on people, just how I feel about it. I get bored curbstomping everyone.
  4. This is kind of the problem with game systems that tack on their High Level abilities onto their systems never intended for them. And COH did it twice. They tacked on IOs. And they Tacked on Incarnates. Without either of those systems the game difficulty would probably be in the "Low to Medium difficulty" range with a well balanced team and "Medium to High" solo depending on what you were trying to do.
  5. That's true. But maybe you make the number smaller than the number of "Best" abilities. You'd also need it not to be super easy to swap them out. Otherwise you'd just slot the ones most advantageous for the task at hand. Probably can't win. Oh well.
  6. Limiting the number you can have slotted sounds like a great idea. That would possibly solve some of these issues. 6 might be a bit much though. At least you'd have some sort of variety with a plan like that.
  7. Yeah but you have to wonder about that game? Don't you? Everyone has these incarnate powers that make them much more like the other characters. And were all going to throw out a Judgement every so often. And drag around Lore pets. And everyone has this Defender like Buff ability. And so on ..
  8. I would nerf all of them. But I doubt that will happen. And I'm not going to lobby for it. What were the other powers supposed to be?
  9. If enemies were made harder, this might actually work by default, without having to change the powers. I'm not going to run ahead of the team into a spawn of Rularuu and fire off Nova for example. I'm going to wait for the Melees to break the alpha and gain some attention first. But for Council (and a lot of other groups) its Leeroy Jenkins all the damn way.
  10. No I'm just saying nerfing Blaster nukes seems pointless since everyone has Judgement Powers anyway. And that Judgement powers were a bad choice. Lore Pets were also a bad choice. It wasn't necessary to turn everyone into a mini Mastermind. It also seems like they are actually stronger than MM pets are. I would have preferred that all the Incarnate Powers worked like the Alpha slot and possibly the Interface slot. In that they affect your character without adding additional extremely strong Powers to your character. That and the incarnates are probably too strong. Including the Alpha slot.
  11. Everyone already has nukes though thanks to Judgement powers. Talk about a bad game design move.
  12. Middle of the road power-sets can laugh at all content with enough IOs. Thus bringing down something like TW(#1 Dmg) so its only a little ahead of War Mace(#2 dmg) isn't going to fix the game being too easy. Since War Mace is also potentially a monster. But so potentially is Broad Sword, which isn't anywhere near the top.
  13. true the cake room is OP
  14. Perhaps they could start by revamping the council. Since this is the group that gets beat up the most, any changes here would really impact the state of the game. Although my preference is improving the brains behind the idiot bad guys - maybe buffing some of the group members would help. Leadership powers for Council Bosses I think might work well. Add some more grenades. Or buff the ones they have. Device Blasters got their T1 Web Grenade buffed with damage. Do that. Add in medic powers to some of the LTs.
  15. I used to skip them. They took so long to recharge, and would generally kill me anyhow. So I prefer it the way it is now, but it does contribute a lot to Power Creep. So there is that wrinkle.
  16. I leave PB on auto and bind hasten to the run forward.
  17. Rularuu are probably the toughest enemy group. That said, I like them fine how they are. I vote for buffing up the underperforming groups to Malta/KOA/Nemesis levels.
  18. Breath of fire is kinda epic though on a team with range enhancers though. But yeah I usually skip it too. Fireball is awesome enough.
  19. Even on a SO eng/eng blaster i could solo malta at +1x1 for the Patron questline. The sappers did make me run a couple of times when I forgot to blast them first. We don't run away enough in COH. So I think Malta is fine.
  20. Think I've seen two before? Or the fact they look a lot like the other minions might influence things. Don't the gunslingers also have a hold? That can be annoying soloing them with a blaster.
  21. I wonder if Melee would become much rarer. Since Blasters usually do Ranged AOE. Tankers could presumably be built to survive in the Friendly Fire Maelstrom. Would Stone Armor/Granite become much more popular?
  22. I actually like it better conceptually than the older alternative. Getting teleported to a Super Faction Base is very Justice League feeling. Having to manipulate your Time Travel Powers as an Uber Stand-in, feels less so. (Ouro portal) Taking the El-Train to fight crime(tm) seems least so.
  23. On the fumble hurting team-mates idea... How crazy would COH be if Friendly Fire was a thing?
  24. Only if you limit the Toggle to the choice of a belt-fed water cooled gun model choice. Gotta have standards.
  25. It may be or may not be. I am not sure how far ahead it is. At least in the blast sets, the set with the secondary effect of extra damage(DOT) coincides with it being top damage dealer. Unlike Fire Melee where it is nowhere near the top. But Fire Blast does have some annoying aspects to it compared to say the generic blast set* Its Cone animates Very slowly. Its snipe is slower animating than most. Rain of Fire is kinda blah to use without binds. Performance is top notch though. These little hitches matter more when you have zero mitigation in your primary (beside damage). Breath of Fire can get you killed. =================== *Energy Blast would be "the generic blast set" if it didn't have all that knockback. Its progression and power picks are what everything else deviates from.
