Interesting though. I thought Captain PHs stated target for Brute damage cap was to allow them to slightly edge out scrappers at the cap only. (Not counting ATO stuff)
-
Do Brutes only get +600 now? I thought it was +650 I remember when Claws first came out for Brutes there was some aggravation because they got longer recharge times and thus better relative damage scale. But of course it only helps if that tiny edge isn't blown away somewhere else lol
-
If you teamed with a lot of Damage buffers the Brute would come ahead. Or those that buff resistance on the other side I suppose. It would be a lot closer without the ATOs though, wouldn't it. Especially for claws since Brute actually got better base numbers based on their scale there.

I doubt we'd ever see it in this game but this would be a good way to do it. You could perhaps assign each bit of Gear / implant / Io / what have you / a score and add them up. And use that score to determine the difficulty of the opposition.
-
I literally just said the opposite. I think y'all are worried they will make the game harder for some reason and you are trying to defend the breach or something. You are worried for nothing. They aren't going to make the game harder.
-
I don't feel we are actually at the potential solutions stage of this situation. I don't think we ever actually will be. We seem to be stuck in a sort of Status Quo is God holding pattern. So offering up solutions to problems y'all don't actually believe in is kinda dumb.
-
No. That's not it. There are things the mobs do that make no sense really. For example a baddie will run away into other mobs. You can see this really clearly with the Arch Villians during the Manticore task force. But the approached groups do not aggro. Many have speculated it seems like they were intended to call for help. "Cmon guys lets get em!" But it was dumbed out for some reason. And its really a shame.
-
I'll add that It seems like the "AI" for this game is intentionally dumbed down for some reason. Which is a tragedy.

Where is the groan button? I am capable of doing the following things at the same time. Realizing that Power Inflation is out of hand, that the game set to +4x8 is simply too easy for a team of IO'd incarnates Realizing at the current state IO'd characters and even worse IO'd incarnate characters live inside a very narrow band of the game's mechanical range. Realizing the developers aren't going to do anything substantive about it. Understanding that when the game is set at +0x1 teams of casuals should be able to have an easy game to play. (Like the guy with his young child) You seem to think that if you give even an inch on this topic suddenly the developers are going to lock the doors and not come out until 2060 (a date you seem to like for hyperbole) I think that actually you are able to see the above points as well, but you don't want admit it.
-
Yeah. That's where they fucked up.

Willpower is a great set, you will be fine. Its also very good on scrappers It is definitely more sturdy than Bio in offensive mode. Basically the idea is you have some Resistance, some defense and scaling regeneration. You will need the fighting pool to thicken these up. There are probably willpower guides floating around somewhere.

I actually agree. I just thought I'd mention it since these big defense numbers have come up before. Thematically it fits of course, since Energy Manipulation has it and that's the Blaster version of Energy Melee.

When you get into this sort of Zen posting mode it becomes very hard to engage you. Call it Rope a Dope or whatever. Dodge every point and throw it back at people. You know perfectly well that the addition of IOs and Incarnate powers makes the game *MORE* easy than it was before those things.
-
Initial Strikes is a so much cooler 1-2 punch though.

The irony of the defenders of keeping the game easy using the "suck it up snowflake" argument is meta-layers thick.
-
This pretty much answers then destroys the question as to whether SR Tankers are tough enough.
-
Allowing the animation for the T1 for Street Justice as an alternate for the goofy Barrage animation would be cool IMO. Some of the STJ uppercuts might make good alternates for the other powers too.

This might be considered OP for Melee ATs since it would supercharge their Defense powers. I personally don't think it would matter that much. But remember Capt Ph won't give Tankers Energy Aura as it is now explicitly for the reason their Defense would be too high.

You can have superstrength as a 3 foot tall manic pixie You can be a sneaky stalker while being literally on fire You can be a Sonic Blaster with no mouth But we draw the line I guess at requiring you to glow like a lightbulb when you get mad.
-
What makes me laugh is the fact that you radiate massive glowie powers at the same time you are Forced to be invisible by your stealth effects. For Rage as a temporary reduction in the glow perhaps change the color to one of the gray options, they seem to be the least lightbulb-ish for Rage in my experience.
-
Its easy to follow. Its just a poor argument. All of the change before now has been weighted to the character's power level benefit. =========== I think the inflation in character power should have been balanced by a corresponding inflation in their adversaries power. At least to an extent. That it wasn't was a serious oversight. Why do bad guys never get a counterpoint of IO's or incarnate powers? Inflation kills MMOs one way or the other.
-
So let me follow this line of logic. The game has been arcing towards getting easier by steps pretty much for most of COH's life. But its the people who want it to be more challenging that are the ones asking for the change?
-
just make them spawn for everyone not just Khelds?
-
The one you must carry.
-
But doesn't the Stalker staff form just default to the damage one with no power pick? Sounds like a good deal to me.
