Yeah I feel like we need to stop trying to force an inherent and just let one natureally evolve. I do have this one from my current purposal. Innate: Protector: When alone the Champion is better able to focus on their own needs, granting them a bonus to Damage, and Damage Resistance. However, Champions by nature feel compelled to look after their comrades as a result each additional ally reduces this bonus in exchange for increasing the Champions Energy Recovery, allowing them to better look after their companions needs. Notes: The Idea is that the Damage/Damage Resistance buff is completely replaced by the Recovery buff in a group of 4 or more. It's based both on the Defender Inherent, as well as trying to solve some of the issues that have been expressed about the Composition powerset from the Guardian. But even this comes with the following disclaimer. The current Inherent is purely theoretical and just as most of this suggestion is tentative, this goes double for the inherent. The Inherent will be whatever it needs to be. Still if you will notice a bit TOO similar to the Defenders inherent.

New AT Idea - Overlord, Melee/Support with a Twist
Pbuckley818 replied to DMW452's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Good point, Well theoretically a Controll set might work as well. It just depends on exactly hwo this get's implamented, the OP is suggesting the AT tanks for the Pets, and the pets support the AT, I am not sure how this would work exactly, but if it could work. Though I feel it would be harder to implament than a more standard Melee/Support which is saying something. -
New AT Idea - Overlord, Melee/Support with a Twist

A bit high concept but it's better than nothing. -
Remind me why they don't want an Assault-primary AT?
Pbuckley818 replied to Menelruin's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I had vaguely remembered that being a point of order on the AT suggestion. -
Archetype that made the worst first impression on you?

It's important to remember that minions, yes even the cute cuddly ones, are all disposable. You can always re-summon. Got to think like a mastermind, to be a mastermind. -
Oh, come on man, that's cold.

Well the Veat Inherent is basically just a cop out, more like a, we don't actually know what to do, so just live with it. -

I was In a group recently with a Blaster named "Not a Tank". I'll give you three guesses at what roll this mad lad played in our Task Force. He made me and my shiny new Rad/Kin look like an idiot. -

I won't begrudge you for that. Some people aren't nut bar thrill seekers like me. -
I mean it is a bit of a meme. One for which I am guilty of participating. Just face it they aren't going anywhere until either A. One get's implemented, or B. The heat death of the universe. My money is on B. I just hope this one stays civil that last one was a *&() show. Anywho, as far as the purposal goes we may want the name to be a bit more morally grey sounding. I know, I know, this is hard to do with a melee support AT, and some of the villain AT's sound pretty overtly sinister (Looking at you Corruptor). But it it's just the nature of the beast. I was partial to Exemplar but then I remembered that's what it's called whene you down level to play with lower levels. One I just recently thought up was Champion.

Sentinel- It is literally the safest DPS in the game, I have armor and fight from a distance. I can think of nothing that could sound more boring than that. But still some people like it. -

Pbuckley818 replied to Menelruin's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
That would seem to be a design oversight... I mean personally I am pretty in love with the Operative desighn wise. Though even that seems to have never settled on a final innate. I wonder if this could be implemented into the test surver without an innate, so that any gaps or needed changes could be diagnosed and addressed via innate? I think most can agree though that they want an Asssault primary AT to want to swap between Melee and Ranged, but how to produce this effect is a bit of a challenge. Their was that rage like idea on the Operative wasn't there? Or did that prove to be too unworkable? -
So I want to start a collaborative thread to work on primaries for an archetype suggestion. What forum do I use? It's not technically a suggestion, but rather a thread for theory crafting for a suggestion. So where do I go to post it? Heck I am not even sure if this question belongs in this forum.

I wonder how hard it would be to create an innate that grants a damage buff, and then grants an effect that decreases your damage in exchange for a Defense/Resist Buff that scales based on the number of foes within a small area around of you? -
I know, It's just that the last 2-3 times I did either of the Striga TG's I got groups that left a really bad taste in my mouth leaving me reluctant to do either. Also I already have the badges now.
-
So I am on Striga Island to get my Slayer Badge, and I am finding a reasonable number of Dark Vampyri, whene all of a sudden the well dries up. Me and my dad run around looking for fascists to vampires to punch, and nothing. When it dawns on me (Pun not intended but hardly unwelcome) It's day time, and all the Dark Vampyri we have fought we battled at night, wso I get this theory, and chek the wiki, but it doesn't seem to say anything about this. Am I seeing things, or do Dark Vampyri only spawn at night on Striga Island. If this is so does it extend to other outdoor zones? If this is the case that is the case that's a really cool touch.

Suggestion: New Power Pool - Athleticism
Pbuckley818 replied to biostem's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Be great for Meleefender builds. Also having a slottable version of Ninja/Beast Run with a more generic animation (Possibly able to use either of the other two as well) would be really nice to have -
Ooh... I like this!
-
I ended up making a Rad/Kin Tanker. After learning that Kin is pretty comparable to Super Strength on Tankers, only without the crash.
-
What does everyone think of Kin/Rad?
-
Yeah, right now I am waffling between; Kin/WP Scrapper, Kin/EA Scrapper, or Kin/EA Stalker. Not a chance in Hades I'm touching Bio.
-
Kinetic Melee is based on actual movements from Tai Chi, so take it up with ancient Chinese Martial Artists. Personally I really like the set, but to each their own. Hmm... interesting how well does this pair with electric armor? That does give some +Recharge. I'd rather run a Scrapper or Brute than a Stalker, but I suppose it doesn't bother me that much to make a stalker. But I still need a secondary, which will have a large effect on the gameplay.
-
Well I was mostly referring to how some non-melle say fire animations could used to fill the remaining spots in the set. Im order to make a "Hellfire Melee" Set. That being said there is supposedly an Assault set using the whip already in development.

New Archetype: Protector (support/melee)
Pbuckley818 replied to Wavicle's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Probably wanna make sure you get a full melee attack chain (Around Three Melee Attacks) fairly early on too. If only to make the gameplay more engaging. If people want something with a bit more flavore, I am curious what people think of Pioneer or Pathfinder? Them being an archetype that in theory goes in ahead of most other AT's in order to set up the fight to be more Amicable for others? It's a bit of stretch, I know, but it is a thought. Another would be something like Watchmen or maybe Warden. I personally really like Pathfinder or Warden as it implies someone who guides and protects others. -
Theoretically speaking. if you where looking to make a toon using the prettiest melee set in the ga... I mean Kinetic Melee, What would you do to take advantage of it's strengths and downplay it's many weaknesses? Note I am not asking what you'd change about the set, but what would you do to make a Toon using Kinetic Melee as it is in the game, right now.
