  1. Ok thank you for the clarification. It's been a long long time lol Noted, I'll see if I can pick one of them up earlier for when I ex down! Mannn those guys...Yes that's what I gotta do be one drained me in like 2 hits haha Yes I'm on the same page, I think I should be ok without it on a premium build. You don't think it's worth it for the extra ~20%? I'll do some test without it toggled on in Beta and see if I can do without it. Maybe I'll be able to dip into other power or ancillary pools then haha. Thanks again for your feedback!
  2. Hey everyone! I've been doing some extensive research and testing (some of my fav aspects of the CoX universe actually), as well as using @Gulbasaur's excellent thread for a basis. Seriously, thanks for your dedication! Check that out here! I've been trying to get the best Fort for my playstyle. My main was a Fire/Fire blapper on live. I enjoy being in the middle of things as well as having a healthy amount of AoE. I do not, however, enjoy long cast times (I'm looking at you Psinado). Basically, This is an end game build geared towards handling super tough content. I'm not as concerned with ex'ing down as of now and one day soon i'll create a 2nd build for the NW aspect of this toon (I simply LOVE VEATs). Questions: -When you EX down, assuming your IOs are attuned, but the power isn't available at that level, do you still receive the IO benefit/set bonus? -What about if it's not attuned, does that matter? - I'm deciding between Aura of Confusion or Total Domination. Shouldn't Confuse with the contagious confusion proc be enough for a pseudo sub for AoC? -Are there any mobs you pro Forts avoid? Anything end-draining can potentially have me by the throat. -Is 55% Accuracy and 127.1% +To-Hit to not need CT: Offensive? Overall Build critique: I'm by no means loaded with inf. However, I won't mind working towards this build over time for these expensive IOs. This is the build I put together and tested (with the exception of switching swipe for subdue). I feel like I have too many attack powers and I'm trying to lock down 2 attack chains (one ST and one AoE). I switched out swipe for Subdue since it's ranged and more powerful. I put TK blast in its place but honestly, I'm not sold on either one. If someone has a better suggestion for this build, I'm all ears! TL;DR: AoE/ glass cannon junkie trying to get the most he can out of this amazing AT. I welcome all feedback. Thanks everyone! Screenshot of build Data Link
  3. So, I took the basis of your suggestions (because numbers make my head hurt haha) and tweaked it a little more to my interests, which might provide an alternate perspective for the OP. I've been looking for a good Dark/SR build since I got mine to 50 ages ago but he's been shelved until recently. I was tempted to get rid of SS since I usually ninja run everywhere and there's a lot of movement bonuses built in. I also decided not to take any APP attacks since I believe my attack chain is full enough as is. Plus, while Dominate was tempting, it wasn't strictly necessary to complete an attack chain (I don't think). My calculations may be off, but here's my attempt. On paper it looks good but feel free to pick it apart hehe 🙂
  4. Makes sense! Thanks for the explanation 🙂
  5. I'll def check out Mu since there's AoE potential I didn't think of. Thanks!
  6. Hey Nemu, I'm late to the party. Looking at this build, I was curious as to why you chose to skip Fire Blast and Havoc Punch? I can assume it might a matter of DPS but I wanted to confirm since i'm also looking to work on a Fire/Elec blapper.
  7. Thank you! I'll definitely check it out! What was your target goal with your build?
  8. Sup everyone? I'm back in the city after an about 2 year or so hiatus. I have a Shield/DM Tank that I love to play and makes me feel super powerful (Death Knocker on Excelsior). With the recent changes to the game (I have lots to catch up on haha), I was wondering how I could optimize this build even further. I heard ToF is now a targeted AoE and I am an AoE addict (I took cross punch just to have some extra AoE other than Shadow Maul lol). This build has soft-capped positionals and pretty decent stats. I'm sure there's room to grow and maximize however. I'm looking to have: -Decent AoE (I know DM is more a ST set) -Soft Capped Defense and as much Res as possible -Procs to help increase damage output (I'm not super skilled in the proc mechanics of how some powers are better suited for procs) -An overall "super-sized" version of this toon -I'm not married to Gloom and I barely use it, (maybe ToF can go there?) I appreciate any feedback you legends can provide. Thank you in advance! Long Export: Death Knocker - Tanker (Shield Defense).mxd
  9. Hey all! I'm a little (a lot) late to the Protector Party but I brought Tacos! :) My global was and still is @Gammos. I played almost exclusively on Pro and I met a lot of amazing people on that server. Now I mostly play on Excelsior, albeit super infrequently. Hope you guys are all doing well! *Edited for typos*
  10. Very solid looking! I did have one ATO set in Siphon Life but not the other set. I wonder how this build would stack up in everyday use against mine. On paper it is definitely better lol. Why choose Shadow Punch over Smite?
  11. Personally, I feel that Nin is much better on a Scrapper than a Stalker. My Psi/Ice Stalker is a beast! I the shields are not clunky or obtrusive at all on a stalker (maybe because they don't get Icicles like the Tank version). If that's not the route you wanna go, I would also suggest Shield.
  12. So, just for the sake of throwing it out there, I took out the Fury -Res proc from Shield Charge and put it in Shadow Maul instead. I got more use out of it and even tho I lost the 2.5 AoE def bonus, My AoE is still at 45%. I'm not getting as much use from Gloom so far but it was a situational power anyway, for runners. If anyone's curious:
  13. I would greatly appreciate it!
  14. Hello fellow Tanks! I've been testing a new build for my SD/DM tank on test server. So far he's: -Highly survivable (kinda close against Arachnos -end draining Mu) -Pretty decent damage (takes a little long to kill +4 bosses -Seems to do well keeping aggro (I don't have real experience within a team due to being on test) I humbly offer this build up to the master Tankers out there. Ideally, I would love my Tank to be able to deal some good and handle all aggro like a champ. Please let me know if you see any areas of improvement. Also, I chose to leave Taunt for the last slot simply because I don't get a lot of mileage out of it. I know you're not "really a tank" if you cant draw aggro at all times but im not 100% sure I need "Taunt" earlier than 49. Thanks so much in advance! Data Chunk: Build: -Gammos
  15. Thats awesome lol. Thanks! If I wanted to make a macro for just a build change, how would I form it?
  16. Awesome thead Gulbasaur! I've been watching this thread progress for a long time. This seemed like a good place to ask this: Do you, or does anyone remember the slash command to switch builds? I forgot it and it's driving me nuts trying to remember. I have a lvl 50 NW that I love and I just started leveling a Fort for funsies (and also to get proper combat experience through the levels on a Fort). However, I still want to make my NW the multi-build beast of the two. Thanks guys!
  17. Thanks!
  18. Thats what I figured, but I wasn't sure. How would one let the Devs know about this?
  19. Hello all, Forgive me if this was answered before. I searched before posting this (my search-fu is weak). The description in this power says it "increases your running speed", however I see nothing to that effect in game. Is this a typo or was the power altered? I checked my Combat attributes and a physical test of running with it on and off. Thanks in advance!
  20. I have a Claw/Nin that I love playing and he's built Ford tough. 1) I would skip the T8 and T9 (Blinding Power and Kuji-In Retsu). Everything else serves a purpose for me. I could make a case for the T8 though. 2) The build i'm working on for him is IO'd out and I used Shinobi-Iri for a "Unique" mule. -Stealth Proc (I like being a true ninja) -LotG +Recharge -Shield Wall +5 Res 3) Ninja Run works very well as a "pseudo" SS/SJ combo on a /Nin as everyone already pointed out. Pair that will Shinobi and you're really moving! I hope this helps!
  21. Might I be so bold as to state that with the current state of the game (temp travel powers, mission porters, etc), its no longer necessary to have a travel power. In fact, I usually level up a toon with the temp flight power from P2W so I play/test with more powers earlier on. Ninja Run for example is a P2W option and it a very suitable (slightly slower) alternative to SS and SJ. I still use travel powers on some toons but it's mostly SS because I like to jaust baddies hehe
  22. Very underrated point for me! I can barely keep up with the new stacking mechanics...Dark would be good for some normalcy haha. Ok, Dark it is! 😄
  23. Thanks for your input. I enjoy teaming also so I think I might make it a Defender after all. I love my Cold/Sonic and its been a while since I rolled a Def :)
  24. I just want to thank you guys for doing this! I was using the super outdated version of Mids and didn't realize until today that there was a new version that was being updated. Just wanted me among the many to express my gratitude for your hard work all! *Virtual round of drinks on me!*
